  1. i went into re-building my 25 with only basic knowledge (and a decent memory to remember where everything goes). i had a mechanic guiding me and i followed the workshop manual when i had any doubts. i went in with 0 engine building knowledge and came out of it with plenty. i took it as a learning experience and it was one of the best decisions i have made.
  2. 27mm from memory. the 'piece of wood between the crank and block' trick works well. you arent wedging it on the main part of the crank, you're wedging it between the big counter-weights, and they are pretty meaty. you will not do any damage to it at all.
  3. i see how looking for the petrol lid release button on a new car tells everything about how a person drives. it took me a while to figure out where the button is on my mates s2k. plus he doesnt need to know how to drive, hes rich biyaaatch!
  4. you could fix that by running some 900 fittings from the plate. it will minimise the amount of oil thats left in the hose.
  5. you wouldnt happen to have the drivers side sun visor for an r33 would you?
  6. doesnt look like any of the NB boys are up to it. maybe offer a bottle of moisturiser instead of beer, b-man?
  7. you'll need around 10 northern beaches boys. damn thats alot of cases of beer b-man. too bad you dont live out west. you'd only need 2 of us
  8. im pretty sure the wiring mod from GTR to GTST is the same on all of them. only difference is you'll need some sort of resistor or something (sorry for being so vague) to convert the 5v feed for the igniter to 12v. read through the pages and you'll come up with your answers.
  9. it does have a knock sensor. you just need to set up the right jumper settings for it inside the actual unit.
  10. this is the point im trying to make. most of the filters that suit these oil relocators are off commodores (not jap) and are pretty big. alot of the ones made here, like the justjap ones, use filters off commodores. its not normal to have no oil pressure for 3 seconds. mine fires up almost instantly.
  11. not that i know of
  12. the only problem i see with having the oil filter upside down is that when you turn your car off the oil will rush out of it. this means that when you turn your car back on, you'll be running without oil pressure for a while before the oil filter fills up (around 600ml worth). if you insisted on having it upside down i'd suggest having a loop in both the feed and return hoses to stop oil from rushing away from the filter when you turn the car off. for eg, the feed line to the oil filter would look like this: the distance at a) should be as short as possible so oil rushes up to the oil filter and starts getting distributed quickly.
  13. very interested.
  14. it should be fine mate.
  15. my car has had pretty much every piece of it taken off and put back in and all i found was rubbish and loose change ($AUD) thats fallen out of peoples pockets under the back seat. i feel so ripped off. i dont even have a flair.
  16. thats what it comes down to most of the time. taking a few boys down will make an unreasonable person suddenly become VERY reasonable.
  17. ring up the department of fair trading and see what can be done. a warranty is a warranty - there are no if's or butt's about it. if not - take a few boys down.
  18. I like the way you make people feel welcome. im sure the club will prosper if everyone has the same mindset as you. got friends?
  19. I know the name of a few people who actually contribute to the forums.
  20. power goes to your accessories switch - the same one your deck is connected to so it only turns on when your 'reds' are on. ground goes to the chassis - pretty much under any bolt thats bolted onto something thats metal. if you've got the dimmer option - wire that onto your dimmer switch.
  21. you are a day off. i might come down and have a look-see.
  22. happy birthday lizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeehhhhhh
  23. why did you let him leave in the first place?
  24. nissansilvia have traders who sell the parts as a kit. you'll be better off going through Slide or one of the other traders who sell them separately so you get exactly what parts you want.
  25. not a problem running the s1 loom on a s2 motor. my mate runs a s1 loom on a neo r34 motor in his r33. he even runs an s1 pfc. only difference is the wiring around the igniter pack.
