  1. hey guys, im going to pop my track day cherry soon. i was just wondering what you guys do before hand and what you recommend in doing/getting done to the car beforehand. ive got a few questions of my own: what size oil cooler core would be best? will the factory radiator be fine? do you pull out a headlight for cool air or use a CAI? any tips would be helpful.
  2. hey joe, im missing a few pieces of my boot since the respray. let me know if you've still got these and ill come grab them. thanks dude
  3. i was standing near it when you drove past the first time. then i was sitting outside subway when you drove past the 2nd time.
  4. looks like a crack to me. you can see how the distance between the flange and the gasket gets bigger as it goes along. if you tighten that nut it and the gap gets smaller then you'll know its a crack.
  5. hey champ, i doubt anyone with a built auto will want to trade to manual, what i suggest doing is buying a standard auto box, selling your manuals and using the $$ to build your auto. -standard autos have SEEN 320kw on standard internals, with just a valve body upgrade. otherwise try convincing me to swap lol.
  6. you'll find that alot of the cars here are a work in progress mate. mine being one of them. took me a while to get the paint sorted. yeah mate that was me, i saw you but didnt get a wave or anything so i didnt think too much of it. and when you see a bright yellow r33 you KNOW its me, not think . my mate [username: vexed on here] was there too with the blue r33.
  7. have a look around for something called a 'thermo sleve'. any place that sells things like heat wrap should have it.
  8. id never use a straight line for an oil feed for a turbo. the reason why the standard one has that loop in it is so oil stays in there when you shut your motor off, so oil pressure is reached earlier as the motor kicks over (so turbo doesnt fcuk up). are you going to be monitoring where they go when you're on boost and pulling a fair few g's on a track or at the drags? unless you hire a smurf to sit in your engine bay, i'd doubt you'd ever really know. then say when they're swinging around they get caught on something hella hot? how often do you check your lines?
  9. if its brown i'd say it was your heater core. if it smells a bit musty its definitely your heater core. even if your coolant is green, even if its fluro pink for that matter, the heater core will still leak brown. they pick up so much crap in there its not funny.
  10. you should've insulated the braided hoses before putting them on, especially if they're sitting close to the turbo/exhaust/block. braided lines are only beneficial if they arent touching anything that hot.
  11. congrats on getting married mate if im in sydney i'll be more than happy to help (with the drive by ofcorse).
  12. nope. just make sure you stretch lol.
  13. yep.. just hit 120 balls at homebush with my driver. im quitting uni/work and entering the PGA pro tour. haha nah seriously.. i suck.
  14. ill get the $ in this friday
  15. theres a trader that sells them like that ready made. the trader was FORZA-MOTORSPORT. i dont think he is a trader anymore though.
  16. no worries mate. yeah, a mate of mine bought one off here a while ago, the welds cracked (wont mention who he bought it from). whats that got to do with the price of oil in iraq?
  17. group buy on 20L drums? would going to a motul wholesaler as a club do anything for us?
  18. get a motorbike. parking is free in the city. or is that scooters?
  19. if your car is auto, get an auto radiator UNLESS you have a decent sized aftermarket core, then you can re-rout the feed directly to it. the reason you cant use a manual one is because the coolant helps cool down the oil a bit before reaching the actual trans cooler core. the manual radiator doesnt have this feature. if your car is manual you can use either.
  20. petrol does have an expiration date, but im sure 4 weeks is nothing to get worried over. it sits longer than that in storage.
  21. for a shared apartment you could get something for around 300. best bet is to look on www.realestate.com.au to give you an idea of what you're up for. we've bought quite alot of properties through searching on that website. also, i MAY have a house opening up for $280 p/w in Padstow (if current tenants refuse the new rate). it is a bit out of the way, but its a 30sec walk to the station.
  22. you dont like my culture?
  23. top product for a good price. this fit on 100% and looks very strong. thanks mate.
