Kylie i dont think you did anything wrong...if you have an example you should post it up and get advice from all of us that have imported...but make sure if you are interested in a particular car that you get JSpec or whoever you decide to import from to check the car out properly so that you dont get stung!!

*Begin Rant* When you import a car, take it to the compliance shop and they say its a priority for us to get your car done and out of here, so we can concentrate on our cars. You think finally great customer service then you do the right thing, get tyres and stock rims take them down to them and the head boss speaks to you like youre a piece of sh!t. Then they say should only be a days work in it now, then we will apply for your compliance plate in Canberra airmail the plate will have it ready for Friday..ring up Friday no we have found this and that and now you need to source these parts..(been sitting in the f!cking yard for 1 week and you don’t even bother ringing me to let me know) Then you ring the other yard and speak to the other boss who says that he has been on holidays and everything slows down when he goes away (wonderful business this one)…then he sources the parts that you need and I think problem solved excellent. Car will be ready Tuesday. Ring up Monday and find out what time can I pick her up tomorrow…hmmmmmmmm sorry a bit of delay only just sent the paper work off "end of the week you can get it"we will take it over the pits for you hope that helps...No D!ckhead that doesnt help cause I still have to get to the pits to pay the money sign the documents and get the plates..just hurry up and give me my car!! So go pickup the car get all the licensing stuff done realize that the car is starting like shit..ring the guy up when I get home...yeah sorry the battery died while it was sitting in the yard and I ran the car dry of fuel…thanks you f!cking idiot I will not be recommending anyone to go to your shop!! *END RANT...I feel great now *

yeah the back compartment is kinder cool...i like the fact that i lifted up where the spare is to find the nav system and that funky lucky horseshoe mat protector...that took me by surprise.... went for a drive in it a short time ago..hehehehe have to laugh the surprise look on the faces of ppl wonder what the hell it is....made my day

You should go to the stagea discussion section, lots of information in there...as far as im aware stageas 96/97 were only made in auto.... series 2 came in manual...some ppl have done a manual conversion to their 97 stag's but you can check that out in that section...coming across manuals are pretty rare and can be quite expensive....lucky enough to have a series one auto and a series 2 black manual in our driveway

yeah darrin if i did go to brisbane i think i wouldnt have had much dramas as bretts (MrGTST) seemed to have no problems and was pretty much what we were told. WA is more expensive than brissie...but with all of the extras they are charging i think i will be the 5k mark just to get the bloody thing complied! The only reason why it came to wa is because it was suppose to be here 3 weeks before bretts was....and brett got his yesterday I think mine will be able 13k on the road ready to go

i would have no idea about the manual..hopefully they would let that through : as for the 12,100 landed and complied i dont think that would be too close to the mark...cause that is just standard compliance that doesnt take into account taking parts off getting standard parts fitting those and then putting the others back one...hopefully the compliance shop wouldnt take advantage and charge a fortune... i tell you mine was 10600 landed and complied and i am going to hit about 13k so it was a little off the mark for mine too, but that is because of my extras that had to be taken off and put back on and find stock parts etc!

mike i hope for your sake it doesnt take as looooooooooooooong as mine im still waiting on mine and its been nearly 12 weeks.... hehehehe and i havent stopped counting the days yet, but getting close

most things have to be put back to standard....mine is just a dayz 97 model which had wheels and sports suspension and i had to get standard rims and i had to borrow stock suspension off another stagea driver to get it over compliance! (which is still going..2 and half weeks later) I think it also really depends on your compliance place, but majority of them return the car to 'stock'

count me out at this stage...why too much f*cking around with the car at the moment...still no progress with the compliance shop so i will have to keep money tight incase they screw me around again! I will buy them later on when i finally have her sitting in my driveway sorry boys...
