Top little job. Took 10 mins to do the catch BUT 30 mins to find a bloody safety pin. Thanks for the info.

About a year back I had a stolen Supra embedded in my front yard gum tree. These 3-17 year olds had flogged it in Brisy, headed North and got spotted by the law in Gympie. Being really smart, they went bush, up my dirt road and actually lost the cops by hiding behind the outbuildings on my property. Thinking the fuzz had gone, they exited and arrived back on the road, right in front of a 2nd cop car. They planted it and that old 1JZ accelerated so hard they just drove straight into the nearest tree. The driver broke the steering wheel with his chest, the front passenger stuck his head into the windscreen and actually broke it. The girl in the back escaped with the driver but both were caught trying to make a getaway on my 17hp mower. The windscreen breaker was never found but I’ve got my excavator ready to dig a hole for him. I traced the tyre tracks around my property and that Supra had spun it’s tyres non stop into the tree, they had no idea, and totalled a beautiful car. Occasionally I drive my son’s 220rwkw Skyline, so I have a huge respect for brute power, and I’ve worked all my life to get where I am so have zero tolerance for thieves.

Sure will. I'm running one in my Rb20 jigger. They crank a little more slowly as they are a geared starter and sound different.

Anouying lil marks and stuff how to get rid of em
grigor replied to martied's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Tea Tree oil is always my first option. Cut and polish for really bad stuff. -
Got stuck behind a new turbo Falcon cruising along at 95 coming back from Rocky. Talk about rotten egg gas. We were spewing and couldn't find a suitable spot to pass. Finally got to a passing lane but has anyone else noticed the pong.

R32 GTS-T Clutch Fan Heads Up.
grigor replied to Cubes's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Been there as well. The VL fan seems much noiser than the Nissan and made no difference to engine temp. -
Hi, I need some general info. The Nissan alarm has a grey button on the end then 2- smaller round buttons. The left one locks/unlocks. What does the right one do? I've changed batteries but you still have to stand right up close to the bonnet for it to work. Is this normal? The driver's window switch can go up/down all the way with one push on the button. The passenger has to hold the button for the whole distance. Is this normal or just a faulty switch? Thanks.

Just follow the trail of blood from the hose clamps.

Forget the car damage for a bit. Look for skid marks. There's some in the dirt footpath, a couple of dings in the gutter from the wheels, but where's the big black tyre marks up the street? Something odd here.

Whirring noise from the front of my car (R32 GTS-t)
grigor replied to Rayage's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Reduce the options. Start by droping off one fan belt at a time and listen for your noise. Power steer, drop off the belt. Alternator or water pump, drop the belt. Air con or belt tensioner, drop the air con belt. Still got a noise, it's in the cam belt area so you can take the next step. Of course don't run the bloody thing for hours without belts!!! Regards. -
I delivered my son's R33 after his return from o/s. No matter where I drove, someone wanted to go faster, and they were all Excells, Corollas etc. I took note the Clubsports and XR6 turbo's had nothing to prove, just cruised on with a wave. I know what grunt it's got, how it can stop and handle generally. But those little shit boxes going 120 plus on the pizza cutter tyres scare me as much as the 3 tonne 4-wheel drivers doing 130. And what's with that bright red light on the rear skirt of Hyundai's. Got to be illegal, like driving into high beam continuously. Regards.

Drove to Toowoomba the other Sunday. 42litres for 436km=9.5l/100k's Normal highway driving except for the big pull at the end. (210rwkw) You guys with 200k's per tank are asking for a vehicle inspection. Cops aren't dumb and all that black soot around the bumper is a dead give away. Regards.

Me too. Try this http://www.kaizousha.com/ Forget the language translator, just check out the cars, usually in the 100,000 price range. Regards.

Lots of info at http://www.rb20det.com/

Might need a bit more info than that. I'm guessing way too much boost. Have you got a gauge? Does it have the power transistor pack at the rear of the plug cover or not? Series 2 has that circuitry incorporated in the coil packs so not visible.

PARTS! from Overseas Suppliers
grigor replied to Ghostrider's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yes I totally agree!! These guys play the odds, give a bit of easy service here and there and bugger the rest. How many are hanging out right now for parts in the hope that good old Brent will soon supply. Do you complain on the forums and run the risk of never getting the goods? It's not as if you can go talk face to face with him. If you can't afford to lose the stuff then you shouldn't buy from net suppliers. Go local. You'll even get a REAL guarantee. You only pay when you see the goods and you might even give a local a job. As for these fraudulent delivery dockets and false price statements, why get involved when there are honest traders right here? I know there are some very happy customers out there and good luck to them. But I won't waste time or effort on forum thieves. -
Cooling System flush now engine cuts out
grigor replied to Red Sky II's topic in General Maintenance
Nothing in changing belts should cause problems, but they would have purged the air when they changed the coolant so check all your plugs/sockets around the TPS etc to ensure they are locked in OK. -
Sounds like throw out bearing. Start saving as it may be decision time for other bits while you've got the box off.

Stalling Dramas - (This time the post worked :D)

If you had success moving the ecu plug about, I'd check for dry solder joints in the ecu socket. Very common with older ecu's. Acknowledgement to Skyline Stu. -
Hi, Have any of you tried to get out of a 2-door in the shopping centre car parks? It's near impossible not to hit your door on the next car. Why? The seating position in the coupe is forward, close to the door hinges and the door is long so the back seat passengers can get out, thus you have to have the door fully open just to clear your feet when you try to get out as driver. I plan to buy a 91 gt4 next year as I love the 4-door R32's, just hope I can get out more easily with the shorter doors. I love driving my sons R33 GTSt coupe on the road, but hate taking it shopping.

Are dump/ frontpipe in one noisy?
grigor replied to B0oStEr's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Make sure it's a ceramic coated type, they run cooler in the engine bay. Try to re-install as many of the factory heat shields as you can too or it's bye-bye aircon hoses. -
Keypad Immobilisers? Any good? Where to get...?
grigor replied to benl1981's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Or get a Link ecu. I think they incorporate a PIN in the programme.
