R33 - Light Scratches Everywhere!
CaptainFresh replied to CaptainFresh's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
If you are desperate enough to know how much Depth your paint has, I'm sure a shop somewhere wouldnt mind having a look if they have the tool. Might cost you though. Would probably be easier to either buy one yourself or just wing it though. I've decided to have a go on the boot. atleast it's an easy enough panel to paint or replace as there is heaps of white ones without my issue. -

That is true, you could have it for years and only use it a couple of times but for those couple you will be pleased you bought it. These photos were after a polish. Except the Polish I use is fine as, no grit etc. So maybe a more Hardy polish and a Wax may help. Otherwise I'll hit it with the Buff, I'll just make sure Im using a light touch. Once I clear this up I need to have a look at the rust -
R33 - 6x9's In Rear Side Panels..
CaptainFresh replied to CaptainFresh's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
.. I got rid of the subs and his 6x9s. I got these Alpines for cheap as because they were the last set. I have no issues now, got it all set up perfect . There was no helping what was in it. -
... Running on empty, crappy story line nice Aussie/muscle cars. "greeens nice" Raised in a holden family, grew up watching the older classics like it. Compared to some of the so called "Car Movies" these days it's not that bad... ( Edit... ) Also on a side note... i enjoy Running on empty for 2 reasons, the cars and the fact there is not 1 CGI scene in it. all done by the actors/stunt drivers. For what it is its pretty damn good

R33 - 6x9's In Rear Side Panels..
CaptainFresh replied to CaptainFresh's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
They fit nicely by the looks of it. Might grab some new rear trims and swap mine over.. Couldn't afford rockfords at the time : ( Between the subs and the 6x9s The bass was unbelievable. No clarity at all, it was horrible. I tried mucking around with the amp setting and head unit setting etc. Couldn't get it any better... -

That is why I want to get rid of them, I was unfortunate to not have noticed ( was a nice sunny day ) Who ever buys it shouldnt have to worry about it. as stated I'm sure most will come out, just unsure how much i can cut it back etc -
R33 - 6x9's In Rear Side Panels..
CaptainFresh replied to CaptainFresh's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
It took me and my dad about 15 minutes to get the sub box out of the boot. I have no damn idea how he managed to get it in there. -
So, this is my dilemma. They are hard to get a photo of, and can only be seen in certain light BUT they are everywhere. the guy a bought it off used a Scourer to remove mould off the car. He left it sitting under a tree for nearly 2 years. So my concern is, how much Clear/Paint is on the car.. i know these can easily be removed but i don't want to attempt it if there is a risk of causing a bigger problem. I'm planning on the selling the car in 6 months or so.. So I'm hoping i can eliminate some of the issues. The paint is still shiny and looks great considering. Also has some rust which needs attending to, most of it is easily repaired.. Couple of spots are of concern. Or would it simply be better to not worry about the Scratches.

So, has any one else done this? these were done to the car before i got it. Had some Cheap ass Sony 110W 2 way speakers in there. Replaced them with some Alpine type s about 6 months ago. When i pulled them out the hack job was poor at best... Looks like they used tin snips and a hammer to get enough room. Had the speakers screwed straight to the panel. Disconnected the factory rear speakers and installed a stupidly large twin 15"sub box which you had to slam the boot to get it to close.. ( I took that out when i got home. it weighed 65kg ) I connected the factory rears up and they worked fine. So all in all the guy was stupid. I've kept it as it was and The quality is fairly good, minimal vibration, but a pain in the ass if you ever take any one in the rear etc. Considered taking them out, replacing the panels etc. But the damage to the body is already there so may as well use it. Not really any questions here, just more of a general, Check out this crap. If you do have any suggestions etc I'd like to hear it. ( I apparently dont have any better photo's showing it with the speakers in.... )

I went Through Galston Gorge on the way there ( i live near Newcastle ) My go pro decided to work in the Gorge, You can hear the front Tyres Scrubbing on the inner guards in the video ( even though the Microphone was behind my rear number plate ) I think a suspension upgrade is in order Emailed John about my photo's and my mates in the Ralliart . he has 3 photos of each, and $5 per photo. All look awesome, Great value in my opinion.

Unfortunately or rather Fortunate in this My car looks like it is actually moving quickly, Mainly due to the fact of the Shocking Body Roll haha He didn't put mine on his website as it's not a clear shot etc.

John Keogh Has posted up all the shots he has of the Skylines. http://www.keoghsvision.com.au/sau-on-the-putty-13122015-1.html They all look pretty good. Should have a shot of everyone, if not he has a fair few that are a tad blurry ( like mine ) that you have to message him for.

Unfortunately my GoPro decided today was the day to be Faulty, got maybe 5 minutes of usable footage Was a Great day, The choice to drive down from Newcastle for the whole cruise was well worth it. I would like to say an official thanks to Grease for the photo of my car showing off it's flame skills. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------| On a side note. www.facebook.com/KeoghsVisionPhotography Apparently got a whole heap of Photo's when we went past him. Said if you PM him with your number plate he will check if he got a photo of you etc.
-
Sweet, sounds like a plan.
-
This will be my GoPro view for tomorrow + external microphone mounted behind the Number Plate facing towards the Exhaust. Was hoping to have another for the Front but my new GoPro is Faulty and has to get sent back. Might put it this one facing forwards from the Halfway stop, will see how we go. The weather is looking like it's going to be Perfect day for it.

The memory card I tried using was the one from my hero 3. I'm hoping it's just the memory card being old and not up to the task. The photo attached was actually without a memory card in, this is the Preview screen on the GoPro phone app. Apparently some people have the same issue but when they record it turns out perfect. So hopefully this post turns out to be pointless and I'm just a noob who should have bought a memory card at the same time.
-
Well, Hello anyone who reads this. Ok, i bought a Gopro hero 4 black edition, the memory card i have does not work apparently But that is not the problem... The problem is ( see attached photo ) This is the Preview screen. I like the Quality of the camera, Dont you? Now, the memory card I tried is the one out of my hero 3 black, which worked fine. Apparently its old tech, so doesnt work properly with the new ones.. But when i did get it to work Briefly. In a 1 minute video, It appeared like the photo for atleast 20 seconds of it. Now i am hoping this is just a memory card issue BUT that is what the Preview looks like the whole time. I've read that some people have had this issue, and it looks fine when you watch a recording. My Computer is more then up to the task of watching it and as you can see this was with the go pro app on my phone. I will buy a new memory card tomorrow, and hopefully that solves my issue. if not im Screwed as i bought this From someone off gumtree "Brand new in sealed box" which it was but i Dont have a Reciept or any clue of when it was bought etc. so warranty could be an issue. Basically does anyone else have experience in this problem? or any suggestions?

Looking good so far. Around 30 degrees and only a slight chance of a shower. Might turn out to be like last year. Hopefully with just a bit of rain and no severe storms on the way home this time.

It's this coming Sunday. 13th December. My original plan was to go to the singleton meet up like I did last year But up until today no one had been interested, so I organised with my mate to head down to Sydney to do the whole cruise..
-
Well my brother, wont be coming but a mate in his CJ RalliArt Lancer is. So still a Plus 1 for me. And at this stage it doesnt look like anyone else from Newcastle area is attending so, we will most likely make a day of it and Cruise down to the sydney meet to do the Whole cruise..
