  1. Z30 is SO NOT yuck!!! </3 broke my heart just now
  2. ....white GTT ...are you talking about woody's old EastBear GTS-R??? either way... a gtr will come up eventually - i guess if anything that's working against your favour is that ... right now in 2011.. it tends to get to slim pickings... in that most cars are over 10 years old... when a car gets 10 years old in japan - it sorts out ownership from the men and the boys... many owners will sell their cars as they come up for ten years of age because too much headache to own with the tighter shaken, and they get bought up by generally more hardcore enthusiasts... being that most cars have been "gotten rid of" by now... their popularity in sale goes down a smidge... go have a look and see how many 2001 Z40 soarers are being auctioned off right NOW it's crazy. this time 1/2 years ago there was HEAPS of GTR's being bought n sold ... that will have slowed down a little bit.. ...but - put it this way... there are millions and millions of people in japan. and millions of them drive cars... millions drive Nissans thousands drive skylines hundreds drive skyline GTRs... and of those hundreds of people.. every week.. about 15 of those people will sell their GTRs... ...and of that 15... a handfull will be sold at a USS auction house... ...and of that handful... will be your PERFECT GTR that you always dreamed of.. it may take a while for that one to come up... but this time next year - you will read this post... ...look down at your hand and see the "R" key... go outside... and start the car.. you'll get that tingle down your spine.. a smile will come across your face as you let out a sigh of releif ...as you pop a boner.
  3. ...did somebody ELSE say they like soarers??? PS - i met you???? when wheere?
  4. *back again* you can have your soarer and eat it too... Z10 / Z20 kyusha Soarers don't cost that much... and besides - if you're bringing over a "personal car" in a years time.. ..the soarer need not interrupt that... Z10 / Z20 can be imported as it's own seperate entity, under the Pre 88 rule... and the Z30 Soarer can come in under SEVS... neither of these will affect which ever car you bring in as personal import.. up shot of this is, all soarers cost next to nothing unless you're chasing a perfect condition Z30 / Z10.. good Z10 cost up to 1million yen!!! and then some!
  5. ....i'm sorry did someone say they want to buy a... ..."Soarer?"
  6. ...got DIDDY DURTY MONEY?!?! i don't mean "normal" money... i mean diddy DURTY money. THIS CAR however goes up for auction Wednesday... and i won't lie it's pretty much EXACTLY how i would style a car.. white body. BBS RG GMG rims... mmmmmm for compliance you'd prob need to swap bonnet n seat over.. someone could lend you theirs but that car is boooodiful
  7. got money??? http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?url=http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m84272291&thumb=http://f6.auctions.c.yimg.jp/img311.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/4/8/2/8/kstaff8888-thumb-1292432216281690.jpg&title=GT R V NUR H14 0 9 km Nismo
  8. which would make you about my age / younger, yes??? im an 85 baby... you?? gimme a sec i'll work my magic fingers. what's your budget for landed n complied?
  9. haha - can always go buy a Camry man! and yes - i too was annoyed when i decided to import a soarer... because i'd let so many go in japan thinking i was going to find "the one" in australia... and then ironically once i started looking in japan for one, they had completely dried up! in the 5 months i spent searching for one there was a total of three that i would've considered... two were out of my price range, ironically i ended up getting my favourite one of all time - and for a price i was MORE than happy with hang in there little one. it will be worth it!
  10. haha good one, i konw what you're doing... "haha anxious boner that's funny as" trying to make out like you guys don't get them too. NOT FALLING FOR THAT ONE, GUYS.
  11. *licks my finger n puts it in the air* *gets out my Y shaped stick and points it north* ...yep. feels like the right time to import a fluctuation in currency doesn't make that much of a difference in the big scheme of things man say you spend a few hundred or save a hundred here n there cos of currency fluctuation, it pales into insignifigance when you factor in cost of car, cost of shipping, compliance, taxes etc etc... while it is nice to get any savings of any sort - dont hedge "whether or not you import a car" on if the aud is buying 82/87 yen if you see the car you want and it's the car of your dreams and you can see a justifyable cause to put it onto a boat and import it to australia - currency rates won't mean anything
  12. ^^^oops., sorry, im at work - work blocks the translator, after posting that i bypassed the translator blocker and found out that it's a GTT made to look like GTR ...still kinda cool though, yeaH?
  13. my personal opinion i like to browse import monster for his ability to view yahoo japan and i tend to use www.japaneseusedcars.com these days because you get a fairly vast and varied view of auction houses, also the cars are listed in year built order so you're not jumping from 1989,2004,2002, 1994, etc etc plus japaneseusedcars have put their dealer view back up again finally the reason you've only been shown two cars will probably be because your broker only VISITs one auction house a day - they're not going to go to kansai to inspect a car for you if they're in tokyo on that day unless you tell them its super duper important that they send an auction runner on a train out there to view your car... (for example) for instance: check this out
  14. haha - i was saying get an NSX because it'd be a fun car to drive - and i don't KNOW that about the NSX i was merely stating an example, it MAY be a hard sell in a years time... stifozzdogg could be a good idea because of it's practicality... maybe a toyota vellfire? never know.. okay - just had a look cos you made me feel bad RE: nsx being still up for sale... and yes - the ones that are asking 70K for ... are still for sale as of about six months ago... so obviously that's not realistic.. but there are a few for sale a bit cheaper which i wouldn't imagine lasting... for instance - i think i'm in love. could always do a toyota crown?? or X120 Mark X? sorry if what i said got under your skin - i guess the long and short of my essay was - i dont KNOW what a good car to buy would be.. ...so just buy a car that YOU can enjoy - then on sell it for a smaller profit like your RX7... ...and like the NSX you're about to buy me
  15. ^^^no auction report sheets, BUT you DO generally get a much bigger warning of cars using the legit USS browser... ie: you'll know about an auction that is on wednesday.. and see the car come up on the sunday before - whereas Jspec you see it on the tuesday arvo ...down side of the USS site is that if you find the car you want - you end up walking around for three days with a boner anxious over whether or not you are bidding enough
  16. fwoor? fwoor. FWOOR!!!! PS - it's not often that i "spam" posting auction pages... but i tried to get my mate to throw a bid out on this car... he reckons he can't afford it.. it's a pre 88 auction so this would effectively be REALLY cost effective.. but will someone PLEASE FREAKING BUY THIS!?!?! goes up on wednesday clicky click ^^^japan scares me - it worries me to know that that 23 year old nissan, looks newer than your mums 2 year old Hyundai.
  17. ^^^No, nothing is wrong with doing that... IF: the car has passed compliance in standard form, and been registered in standard form too.. if AFTER REGISTRATION the car has had 19x12 rims, hippari tyres, pod fmic catback, 5grade tint, coilovers, and a rocket pod mounted to the door... ...then that's okay UNTIL the police pull you over - and book you for violation section 19 rule 4: Ridin' Durtay. as far as DIT are concerned, once a car is complied, their job as a federal transport agency is done... andas Chris said, when people do the wrong thing, hard working people like chris take photos of it and tell the DIT (formerly dotars in case you're wondering who DIT are) sends the pics in ...and as chris said - DIT then give them a nasty phone call and tell them to not to do that again. and unfortunately for the DIT it's quite difficult to prove where the ball was dropped... esp if the dodgy RAWS won't accept responsibility, all they need to do is pass the buck and give the inspectors / investigators the run around and stall them.. (it works for a short while, not forever) and nee-san i will PM you but there's not much to talk about really and chris - it's funny you mention about the dodgy complied cars with purple plates cos this one fella i know got given two cars with no restraint points no cats no fluids no mirrors no nothing! ...but this guy DID get a nice evidence package saying it was all done! i hear that the guy im talking about had a wonderufl time registering the the cars too when the evidence package married up with absolutely nothing at all with the physical car!!! :) but anyway - let's not get too far into slagging off certain dodgy RAWS run by immigrants trying to durk our durbs. let's talk about fun stuff like how Nee-San is going to buy me a JZS147 Crown
  18. well personally I'm not in any place to comment being "just a guy that likes cars n stuff" perhaps someone with a bit more authority could weight in a more concrete opinion.. ..but it honestly all depends on where the market goes man.. i mean - you could bring in a LanEvo wagon - that doesn't automatically mean people are going to mob you and pay you what you want for it in a years time.. same goes for all cars really.. it all just depends on if someone's wanting to buy it or not.. i mean people try to sell their personal import NSX's all the time, infact you go on carsales now - and you'll see a handfull of NSX's on there, asking 60 odd grand.. and think "wow they must be turning a tidy profit" ...but you check back in 3 months time, they'll most probably still be there! so it all depends on where the market's at in a years time.. i mean if the rumours are tru that petrols going to go up to $3 a litre etc next year.. then people will be hesitant to buy a car that runs on petrol etc. put it this way: my brother lives in London, cars over there are worth nothing unless they're brand spankers. so he bought a mazda RX8 for 4 thousand pound with the intent to bring it back to aust and sell it here for about 35-40K when he returns to australia this october.. but since he bought it - the market for them has dwindled a bit - and subsequently he has fallen in love with the car, so i doubt he's going to be selling it because for him it's just not worth it - say he sells it for $25K or something.. what cars like the RX8 can he get for that price range and still have "money to get him on his feet" etc so it all just depends on where the market heads really.. i reckon buy something that YOU like... not what you think everyone ELSE will like... buy for YOU. then when it comes time to sell in australia - just see how you go honda CRZ mugen edition???
