1) what bubba said - that said... i would say most AUST approved fire extinguishers would have to be designed to withstand our oven-like temperatures so you should be in the clear there... 2) give these blokes a call http://www.cplastix.iinet.net.au/ 3) with skylines... any custom built and properly fabricated exhaust component will give better performance than stock "economy" considerate / cost cutting material... so yeah i'd say so.. 4) i dunno man... wadda YOU reckon? do you reckon it'd be a good idea to hack up a structural crash absorbing thick piece of steel on your car for the sake of a bit more airflow? ...i didn't think so either all the best!!

Turbo 180Sx ! Anyone Driven One?

Calm down bra... I'm just saying they're a very basic car!!! Even with your later model perks they're still basic... And personally my argument is in a hard track car no you don't need that stuff but as a daily commute, it's nice to have And besides why so defensive??? I was saying I like them... Just that they're just featureless old but ridiculously fast cars. Chillax -

Turbo 180Sx ! Anyone Driven One?
Mr Eps replied to Rb Liner25's topic in General Automotive Discussion
y'know what i dont get??? marc. i dont get marc. the guy is popular and considered a pretty cool guy on these forums... and dont get me wrong. i like him too... ...but i dont get how someone for YEARS has gotten by on a skylines forum - that HATES skylines. lol anyway - my brother had one of the first 180sx's in perth - and i drove it and learned in it... it had a jap spec S15 turbo. big FMIC. boosted. pod filter, bov, and 3.5in turbo back it was probably the fastest car i've ever driven... would i own one? no. 180sx are like fking ROCKETS if you build them and tune them up right. but outside of that... they are basically a holden gemini with a jet engine glued to it. there is no ABS. no trac control. no airbag. so active stability. no variable valve timing. no auto on auto off headlights. no adjustable intermittence of window wipers. no fog lights. no rain proof windscreen. no bi-xenon headlights. no digital climate control. no electric seats. in a 180sx you get the following: a 2 door hatch type coupe that could be likened to a mongoose on rohypnol. 180sx are quick. when done right. they scream like a truck. and a very angry truck at that. they're reliable, noooo not reliable as in "well built" reliable. but reliable as in... there's nothing on it that can go wrong in the first place. if that's "your type of car" then go for it... personally i wouldn't have one! pro tip: (get an s15) check out what supermade just did for TAS2011!!! -

^^^ good idea really - it shouldn't overload the circuit eiether cos the side repeaters are LED and my main indicators are LED too... so they use feck all power -
Cars Made After 1989...

^^^exactly - not just GTR's though... but with ALL cars.. double check that "bargain" as rich said, budget about 23 grand and you'll come out on top... buy a car for 23 grand... and you'll buy a car for 23 grand... ...buy a car for 14 grand... and expect an ongoing 9grand repair bill my mate just bought a 2006 WRX... i showed him one for 24 grand that was stock with 28 thousand km ...he ended up getting this other one for 22K cos the guy accepted his offer, it has 55xxx odd km... 19inch ROH rims. bov, pod filter etc... since buying it about 5 weeks ago, he's had to pay rego... get new tyres all round cos they were worn to the belts... get new brake pads cos they were down to the metal... and last week had to get new brake rotors cos previous owner was driving around with pads on the metal.. ...not to say he bought a lemon - just sayin... it's good to love a car... but it's GREAT to pay that bit extra for a car that will love you back.. *nawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww* -

^^^^^^^i think what warps said would be easiest... but at the same time like he said... it's dependent if the circuit can handle the load... only bad thing about jumping the main indicators off the side indicators is (in my opinion) that it's REALLY dodgy wiring... -

Anyone Know A Bit About Electronics?
Mr Eps replied to Mr Eps's topic in General Automotive Discussion
that doesn't sound easy at all... it sounds quite the contrary!!! reason being... if i solder a wire from the park light wiring... into the indicator wiring... ...then how would the indicator wiring cancel??? wouldn't it just stay on and not blink?? EDIT: how would one bypass the blinker relay??? -
sup who knows about electronics??? i have a soarer - the owner in japan has done this to the side repeators.. i don't know how to explain it.. but the side repeator stays "on" when park lights are on... soooooooo park lights go on.... and side repeators turn on... but still indicate... i want to do that same treatment to my side indicator.. as can be seen here and here.. anyone know how to do it? ...or even what this process is called so that i can google it? and yes i know this is a skylines forum but A) the process should be the same and B) soarer forums are chock full of retarded folk.

Mike L - no offence here. but you seem "new" to the jap car scene... if you've never imported a car before - use a broker. here's why: you: > have no experience with aust or jap paperwork, no means to attain a car from overseas, and no access to view cars in japan.. let alone get one onto a ship over here > will be sending thousands of dollars overseas to people you can't meet or see > have no experience getting cars through customs, quarrantine, or compliance > don't have any "lifelines" or "contacts" should something go wrong and most importantly - you probably have a job to go to and have work to do at that job. work that is more important than having to deal with all the "little things" that can happen when importing a car ...a GOOD BROKER, has: > access to hundreds of means to attain you the *right* car, many auction houses, dealers, yahoo auctions, wholesale deaelrs etc > can get the car inspected to the best of their abilities > knows the ins and outs of insurance plus the broker has "connections" in the industry and the good will is passed on to you > get the paper works and everything done for you > have the entire process overseen by a professional who does this for a living i know you wanted a yes or no answer to that question but trust me - it's in our male DNA that we naturally wanna play caveman and "do it ourselves" buuuuuuuuuuuuut - know when to pick your fights importing a car is best left to someone that does it for a living! anyway - answer your next few questions: basically you're asking about "what will life be like once i buy this wagon" well - that is best answered as follows... if you own a volvo wagon - and the waterpump / timing belt / indicator bulb /headlight / oil pump etc goes wrong you: > take it to the volvo mechanic - pay to get it "diagnosed" and pay what volvo charge you... when you own a stagea: you talk to your fellow stagea owners - and there's a lot of them on this here forum as has been displayed in this thread... and they're all willing to help you with information, and can very easilly diagnose any faults... some of them are even willing to help out!!! the stagea community here on SAU are a very helpful friendly bunch.. they'll be quick to ask you out to cruises, meets and the likes... as for parts... contrary to what insurance companies tell you - we import owners have a vast network of parts availability, and they're actually quite competitively priced! and if it's NOT available in australia - nissan australia are always happy to help.. and if THEY can't help - then we have people like import monster who can import you things from japan... from spare parts to massive turbos to 20 inch work rims. happy hunting!

haha. you know the rules. pants down and three laps around the pooltable! see - i was always under the impressiong that toyota bB and scion XB were same cars - seems they WERE for first gen... but 2nd gen - the americans got the Runion.. and called it the XB... and we also get the Runion... and called it the "rukus" i first saw it n thought "wow... australia made the bB UGLY" good to see it's not the bB! i saw one at the front of a toyota dealership - on the "pimp" stands.. with the license plate "modify" it was a plain rukus with bright pea green graphics all over it... i pulled over. got out. wakled up to it. chucked up all over it. ...it looked the same. but seriously that's great news.. are they comply-able? any ideas on approx cost for compliance Chris?
-
is it true??? i just saw on Jspec wiki that Toyota bB secnd gen are now available for import.. ...this confuses me greatly.. because toyota aust now sell the "toyota rukus" which is a bB i don't follow - can someone please break it down for me??? what years / months are available? and either way - how did this application get through if toyota is selling the (not so) competitively priced rukus?

when i was 19 and first got my cefiro back in 2004 the first things i ever did was take the original window sheilds off.. ...and the mud guards.. and replaced my bumpers with a wonder bodykit ...then years later found out how rare the "front lip" was... ...looking back i would have kept it stock bodied... with the guards... with the lip... and just had it lowwwwwwwwwww... but seriously. dont pull it off PLEASE just use the steel wool method - on second thought - wet sanding will probably give similar outcome
-
DUDE !!!! NO!!!!!!! please tell me you HAVENT taken them off.. sorry i dont come here that often! they go yellow same as headlights... even brown. if you want to get them back to BRAND NEW COLOUR get some SIFA steel wool from bunnings, about $3 worth - wet it... and scrub it all off. it literally comes back to brand new white. don't pull it off... it's old nerdy jap crap!!! YOU NEED IT!!!! haha
-
yeah but what's it worth to YOU! eh ??? eh ??? how you been lately mate? hope you're not still spazzing out and planning to go fight the taliban.. you do know that real army is nowhere NEAR as cool as black ops, right? ps i would say "nice car" or "she's lookin good now" etc etc but my work block photobucket etc pwned.

Cars Made After 1989...
Mr Eps replied to Dvus R31's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
i have had it up to HERE with you brokers and your broker propaganda!!!! if i want to import a 2008 lan evo i WILL!!! i dont see why i should pay for one over here when they're so much cheaper in japan.. speaking of which.. friday on way home from work, these kids pull up next to me in a van.. i get the usual oi man nice car bruu, how much was it bruu? awww nah bruu could have got one HEEEEEEPS cheeper over here bruu the usual.. anyway then he pauses for four solid seconds.. "my mate just imported a mitsubishi GTO for four grand he did it all himself" "..... no he didnt." to the OP - before you ask.. ...importing won't always guarantee you will save money from buying local. sometimes, wait... MOST times now you may save a few bucks buying locally.. but if you want that *special* one - then importing is for you. R32 GTRs are one of those cars that buying locally will probably save you some money... only import one if you're looking for "the one" cars that are rare / new to importing like the gloria / cedric / V36 etc... that's where you save-a-da-money -
animals. ...filthy rotten animals.
-
i agree with NISMO / bobby - i dont *get* it.. it doesn't go against convention... it would cost soooo much ridiculous money... why don't you get a supra? or an aristo? and keep your GTR? have two cars? i just don't /get/ this. there is however an AWD toyota soarer with a stroked 2JZ.. 1000hp i beleive ...buuuuuut it's useless as a car... food for thought
