  1. ...did you not get in touch with dorigecko? you could have been ripping skids for ages if you had've just done that first man..
  2. or maybe try S13 and just deal with it - it's still going to be legal height man... regency / pits inspectors won't know the difference.
  3. lol let me guess. dark green 1992 V8 that's got three oem wheels and one wheel that has an inexplicable hubcap?
  4. ^^^samesies. i rage quitted after i joined their "cruise" and had a go at them all for dropping skids in front of kids on bikes. and one dipshit in a Z20 decided to try drift around a roundabout n ran into a gutter. i said to them be careful on cruises last thing we need is attention from police. that was like throwing a rock at a beehive. soarer drivers are knuckle dragging mouth breathers. just sayin.
  5. art thou serious. i literally said "kidding" in that post. but - yes. NA-T is by far the best way to get power out of an RB. nice and responsive. my cefiro was the most fun nissan i've ever driven
  6. kristian. you. me. kitchen. talk. now. hahah and yes it's true.. only knobs drive soarers. in all honesty - you probably shouldn't have said you're "open to suggestion" to cars in a thread that i'm reading. because i'll talk the leg off a chair. i'll keep my opinions simple for you.. and TRY not to bore you i got my car yesterday by the way.. soarers were a popular import from the mid 1990's up through to about maybe 2005 then dropped off the radar really - mainly because as their value dwindled.. as did their target market.. the biggest problem with soarers is they are now usually seen blowing bright blue smoke out of their exhausts being driven by a somalian with a hat to the side playing 10 year old DMX music. but - there ARE gems out there. what you're craving would be fixed by a VVT soarer (so i beleive) first of all, read this paragraph: The high-performance turbocharged version uses a 2.5 litre straight six (coded 1JZ-GTE). Early models are fitted with parallel twin turbochargers which give 206kW at 6200 rpm and 363Nm at 4800 rpm. Unfortunately, the TT engine is quite doughy at the bottom end of the rev range - the transmission’s torque converter needs to flare to get the engine revving (a trait that becomes tiresome, especially when a loud aftermarket exhaust is fitted). A 5-speed manual gearbox was fitted to a small number of examples. that was penned by autospeed about 5 years ago.. then: read this article http://autospeed.com/cms/title_The-Highest...57/article.html to summarize - after mid 1996 the soarer went to a single turbo VVTi motor, torque was doubled.. and found at 2400RPM instead of 5000RPM power was increased. fuel consumption was pretty much halved. to summarize, the VVTi 1JZ has a HUGE difference.. the VVTi 2JZ not so much.. in addition to this the whole range got a facelift and certain "quivles" were fixed and revised. priced for these vary like mental. i don't want to even tell you difference between the soarer i just bought my parents vs the soarer i just bought me.. but put it bluntly.. both my soarers were imported WELL under your budget. and to summarize.. soarer - you get pretty much every luxury feature imaginable here's what is sitting in my driveway now..
  7. you should now be able to PM just so you know
  8. lol as if anyone drives an NA import. (kidding)
  9. got this on saturday. i freaking LOVE it. got my new car today. i freaking LOVE it.
  10. ...who buy cars from toyota japan/UK/china.. i think you guys were missing the point there when i said about the money staying in the aussie economy.. what i was more saying was i fail to see how getting a new australian car (namely on a car loan) you're generally paying what, 13%-15% interest?? something like that.. generally speaking you'll pay aobut 4 grand in interest - that's not money on your car. that's not money in the economy. that's money going to the BANKS. you're getting raped on interest and what's the thanks you get for it? well, Wesptac's way of thanking you is by outsourcing all of their back office and administration duties to offshore.. so Westpac are very happy to charge you credit card, personal loan, car loan and home loan interest rates.. but offer no jobs or skills for your australian family. (Y) way to go for keeping your money "in australia" not to mention - when importing a car about half your budget goes to australia anyway - not to just banks - but to AUSTRALIAN SMALL BUSINESS!!!
  11. batman if you know him that well then he IS traceable.. your war is not lost yet my friend.. hopefully in about 6 months time you'll laugh about this whole situation while you visit your broker friend. in prison. that you've driven your dream GTR to visit him in and tell him all the fun you've had along the way.
  12. ermmmm those wheel clamp guys cannot legally do that - it's not stated in their signage - that says "cars will be clamped outside of 2 hour zone" if they try to clamp your wheel they're breaching their legalities. and as such. they can have the police involved. scumbags. city west is a public free carpark. it is NOT up to them to pick n choose and discriminate who they do and don't let park there. what a bunch of monkeys. anyway - shame this is skylines only.. cos i get my soarer today =) (just HAD to slip that in didn't i)
  13. well - i can't PERSONALLY vouch for their work but have you seen beyond customs? they seem pretty "hip" can anybody comment on their work??
  14. batman67 - this doesn't make you a "sucker" man, you're not the first person to ever get grifted in the world.. yes it's a large sum of money.. but as Richard said.. the industry is but a small one.. and - for what it's worth... (in my opinion) the guys that lurk these forums are the best in the industry. they are genuine trustworthy guys with MOUNTAINS of knowledge. I - and a lot of people are forever grateful for the work they do and the help they lend people.. these guys above put in so much work and don't receive enough kudos.. i wish you all the best in your closures!
  15. *chiming in from me* yeah man... as the new owner of a VVTi Soarer i can tell you now that while the VVTi engines are way more betterer than non vvt, i must say that there's not THAT much support for the vvti versions of these enignes.. the weld heat sink covers do look pretty fly though.. =) oh back on topic - sorry mate, there's no way you'll get one with that budget.. keep in mind these cars are like the japanese equivalent of a porsche 911T. sure they don't cost as much but you get what i'm saying i hope. just - think of it like... if you have a budget of 17 grand landed n complied.. that leaves you with about 700-750 thousand yen car cost at today's exchange rate.. this leaves you with slim options in the non vvt range, keep in mind that prices also fluctuate for these cars like mental.. with that budget i would SAY a non VVT RZ could be had.. buttttttt with that budget you can forget: black non smoker car great condition car hmm - well not FORGET but it does slim your chances down a lot.. short answer is - yeah you can have one in that budget - but i would dare say you wouldn't be able to find anything in that budget worth importing... importing takes 3/4 months.. it's a long time to be "dreaming of your car" also when you "get" your car - you have people that will have their jaws drop because they spent that much on an ex-demo commodore, and they will be looking to find faults in your imported car. ..and for that reason i suggest do it right the first time... edit: to re-clarify what i mean about "looking to find faults".. i mean to say - your mates will be jealous. because they just spent 25K on an australian/aus delivered car with less features, less power, less specs, less "street cred' than your car.. and they will do things like - point out a ciggie burn, point out a scratch on the paint, point out anything they can find.. soooooooo do your best to NOT give them that inch.. in further news, you know my ex girlfriend had a go at me for importing a car the other day??? im not exaggerating. she literally told me: "you should just buy local new cars and keep your money in australia's economy rather than sending your australian money overseas" im not joking. people ACTUALLY ARE that retarded.
