  1. 25GTT seriously man if you're looking into getting a new MTB for the new year... and have a budget of about a grand i literally have a like new condition giant alias. sitting in my garage. it's not carbon framed but it's a bloody nice piece of kit ;-) if you wanted it i'd be happy to let u have it at a nice price... they retail for what... $1400? marc - confirm? i'm not trying to offload my trash onto you i'm just saying i have a very unused bike that is not GOING to be getting used in the forseeable future... ;-)
  2. shan, current model bB or classic shape? because toyota is bringing out the "rukus" in about a week's time... which is the current model bB toyota saw a market opening for it when kia introduced the soul ....i prefer the true box... the cube.
  3. ugh... rudd has NOTHING to with the global economy... rudd's tax has not been introduced. think of the economics game as a HUGE soccer pitch... a HUGE one... rudd is the guy that puts the ice blocks in the gatorade to give to the water boy. Rudd is not the reason the global economy has shifted. this motion that it's "his fault" was just a scare tactic by the opposition to get him out of power because it's an election year. the media has picked it up as a figure to blame and ran with it... as for the bikes 25GTT... if you have the bike bug... then PLEASE take a road bike for a ride first... just see what it's like - how it differs etc... your next bike is (should) be one that you're going to use for a couple years (i hope) so by all means shop around see what you like! that said 2010 brought some very cheap bikes to aus... and when they "come down" in two / three months time... they'll be cheaper still but don't expect huge 40% discounts or anything this year i think... check out TBE on gt eastern hwy they have a MASSIVE shop and let you test ride ANYTHING you want!
  4. la bomba - still easy to comply... just gotta find the right raws shop - which your broker would be only too happy to do for with ANY car.. it's in their interests to keep their rep as giving excellent customer service!!! 130,000 km for a 97 i'd be looking into the VIN or seeing any proof of genuine km (not that km matter!! you're buying a CAR not a bunch of numbers on a sheet of paper!) the 97 is a huge upgrade cos it has VVTI so it's a lot more umm what the word umm economical and a little bit more power too
  5. Because about 3 weeks ago, I inspected a Toyota Supra, with my uncle who is a mechanic, clap clap and there was weld marks near the roof each side covered by paintjob, and the front end was out of alignment, and the guy said there was nothing wrong with it, when it obviously had hit left front end and rolled, could very well have happened in japan? and the australian owner just not know about it? that's what happens when you don't get the car fully inspected in J besides... if car has been crashed and repaired... PROPERLY repaired.. then so what? i read the guy was asking 10.5K for it... what did you honestly expect? also the tires showed race wear. WAT THE SHIT DOES RACE WEAR MEAN. NO REALLY WHAT THE HECK. bald tyres are bald tyres. it's a consumable. they go bald over time, and you replace them! So i cant be bothered wasting my time becasue most people here say there car is in good condition when really it is f**ked up. ok ... that right there. see what you said right there? read it again to make sure it is understood... reaaaaddd itttt... then read the next sentence I was thinking at least if i Imported from Japan the auction report would be enough for my piece of mind. BOOOM BABY. enough for your piece of mind??? an A6 piece of paper that's graded from looking at the car for a total of 30 seconds??? sorry to be rude but you just contradicted yourself again. you can't trust what put on paper in australia. and TRUST ME. you can't trust what's put on paper in australia, either. Also I looked at BMW 318i and the owner conveniently had put on new tires (obviously to cover up the old f**ked up ones). that's what people do. it's not a brand new car! Also i looked in the engine bay and bada-bing! new engine oil, most likely thicker than whats needed, quite convenient to cover up knocking noises in the engine. that's what people do. it's not a brand new car! so yes thats why i dont look local anymore. mmm and with very good reason From my experience everyone here, tries to rip you off, i do agree and disagree with you on this point... it can be a rip off but if they're the importer themselves... it SHOULD be a ripoff cos THEY took the chance by importing a vehicle!!! then when shit goes wrong its not their problem.. you're absolutely right - it's not their problem. because it's NOT THEIR CAR!!! =) And thanks Mr.Eps for all the info. you're welcome Regarding Toyota Soarers I readedd somewhere they were hard to compliance? and lots of compliance places didnt want to touch them? is there a reason for this? man... you say you read that supras have bad weight distribution. you say soarers are hard to comply. you say so many things... WHAT DO YOU READ!!! WHERE DO YOU FIND THIS PUBLICATION??? that magazine should be banned YOU DONT COMPLY THE CAR. YOU PAY SOMEONE TO DO IT FOR YOU AND THEY DO IT!!! compliance places don't want to touch them? why do you think there are so many soarers in australia? surely they don't grow by osmosis... =| i... no offence... but i start to worry that you're not actually a genuine user you're just a banned user from the past having a laugh at our expense... because seriously you're like.. the best troll i've ever met
  6. man that guy looks dodgy. sorry i have nothing constructive to comment but MAN he looks dodgy.
  7. yeah celica for me personally... it's just so fvking TOUGH!!! there used to be (probably still is) a celica TA22 in maroon that used to drive to work next to me... nearly had a few accidents could never take my eyes off it looked sooooo well maintained / resto'd
  8. i think 33R looks best in silver white and red... actually i just like all 33R's and i'm definately not a 33 guy... i'm hardly even a nissan guy these days but i still get excited when i see a GTR of any sort!
  9. just to re-clarify ... even though I hate your face i even went to the trouble of giving you an average breakdown FOB fees = 950,000 JPY at exchange rate 75JPY to the aud (not realistic for today but let's say 75 yen to the AUD) a full budget of 10,500 gives you... $2200 in compliance $700 toward tyres + immobiliser (yes this is a must) $2 grand for shipping wharfage storage and customs fees (maybe more) about $550 in taxes a grand for getting a (good honest) broker leaves you with about 200,000 yen to buy your car with i think if you really want to import... consider a pre 88 option... but even then... EVEN THEN even though you save money on compliance fees (they only have to adhere to very basic ADR standards and can be performed by anybody not just a RAWS workshop) EVEN IF you save money there in compliance and car cost... you will end up paying more and more in repair bills and maintenance costs... seriously either buy a local car, or increase your budget! EDIT: being that you probably haven't looked at cars in japan before... to give you an idea... i'm trying to import a 1994 automatic soarer as we speak... it's a 15 year old soarer and i placed a bid for 500K and the owner is still yet to accept my offer. he's chasing 600K for car alone. that price is not FOB inclusive.
  10. la bomba - your budget of 10/11 grand is not high enough to afford a good condition import of any make or model. let alone in manual trim... pre 88 cars are skyrocketing in price, because of their noteriety. so they *might* be out of your budget, but never know... i dunno if this = turbo or not maybe one of the other dudes can shed light but this as an example goes up today but is auto this however, is a manual... and at auction would probably exceed your budget... but never know, can't go fishing without bait! 5speed manual 2.8 ltr... pre 88 import scheme.. but that been said... your hopes of an imported SZ jza80 series supra are not really plausible for import... importing under SEVS is an enthusiasts game... you don't have an enthusiast's wallet size. maybe get a honda or something if you want fun to drive? but unfortunately your budget cannot afford to enter them import game... allow about 8 grand in fees complaince and taxation and tyres for importing on top of any car you look at... that will give you a realistic healthy budget being that you are after a manual... manual alwasy fetch higher prices at auction. always. esp if they're in good condition!
  11. well i hate to be the bearer of bad news guys but bitching about it in a sub section of a net forum isn't going to give us our answers... perhaps it's time we started lobbying our government for change? seems to work in thailand... ...too soon?
  12. i clicked this thread knowing it would be so much win. it is so much win.
  13. la bomba. as xalmon posted the weight distribution for the supra. it's very balanced... first of all seeing as you're so into watching youtube videos... search jun supra tsukuba drift. then tell me supras can't drift. second of all. cars are not built with skidding sideways around a corner and spinning their wheels in mind. if mister toyoda wanted that... he would have put shopping trolley wheels with 360 degree rotation on them. and we could all have fun sliding around coreners while we do our "skiddies" the supra is a GRAND TOURING car. it's one of the best cars ever built (in my humble opinion) okay... so it can't drift... do you ever seen porsche 911 drifitng? no. do you ever see audi TT drifting? no. do you ever see fairladyZ drifitng? no. because they're not the right class of car to do it with. (for alvin to fap over) and for you too, la bomba... here you see a humble supra... it's just white.. no bodykits. just some clean TE37 18". but that's weird... there's no comic or youtube movie about this car... well... it's a 750HP road registered car! and has a top speed in excess of 340kph... that means it goes FASTER than that. think that's bad weight distribution? FYI.... the owner of this car drives this car all night up n down the japanese highways... and apparently takes his wife n baby along for the ride... do i think it's cool that he drives at about 200 kph on public roads with wife n baby in the car? no i don't. i think that's fking stupid. but either way. his car is nice! www.f**kyourNAsilviaplans.com =)
  14. i'm riding tomoz. dunno how the bloody hell i'm gonna go in this freezing weather we have now... but seeing as you two are braving it.. i am inspire
  15. Duncan's 350Z convertible.
  16. you know what... when i first saw this posted up, i clicked the title... thinking "this could be a good read" then i clicked it and read it... immediately i opened up the "fast reply window" it would've been the first post reply made... and I typed "you know what, Samuel? how about I punch you as hard as I can RIGHT IN YOUR FUCKING FACE???" i typed that... had a chuckle ... thought how it might look to people who don't "get" my jokes... sighed... then closed the window... because SAU doesn't allow for that sort of tomfoolery... i gathered he may very well be an elder who was having a dadlaugh.. but yeah... this thread deserves to be thrown to the wasteland!
  17. lol the diea of a "cup holder" being a dealer option. lol@ the last entire page of this thread being about cup holders.
  18. iphone cycling app said i maxed out at 76kph... i didn't trust that no sir
  19. bahahahhahahahaha lol!!!!! awww that SUCKS!!!! i saw everyone riding omw to work from my car today rugged up like crazy haha where do you commute from and to??? during winter months i use arm warmers... they're slip on sleeve kinda things... they keep you warm while riding but you still wear a tshirt so you don't get too hot either! i bought them first thinking "man these things are totally gay" now i wear them when i go out at night cos they're warm lol
  20. exactly what kristian said... this "law" makes people take gambles at becoming a criminal without even knowing it and as i said at the top of this thread... the way that this law is worded is so grey and muddy NOTHING is transparent... modicification can mean the following.... DR30 skyline with different wheels... minor... but still a mod DR30 with RB26 engine conversion... medium grade mod Dr30 with roll cage... =/ hot rod - shaved door handles... minor mod chassis conversion ie ford willies truck moulded onto a chev corvette chassis... huge modification and customisation like where is the line??? none of this law makes ANY sense and clearly hasn't been revised or thought about
  21. this thread = laughable... supras are too common, please, go get a non turbo s13. sounds like a plan mate - after all.. you're smart and "owned" me so you know what's best anyway alvin be careful driving your supra dude... the weight distribution might trick you up and slam you into a barrier while you're.... ....driving on public roads abiding by the law.. this thread deserves lock.
  22. nzm031 yes it was GOD_Speed i dunno if it's terry's son though. no clue!!! but yes - that IS the GTR i was talking about! good spotting... that is probably up there with being one of my favves on this site!
