  1. i'll just hold my breath for a better frame i reckon thoughts on the raleigh frame??? i don't mind that frame but looks a bit awkward compared to my cannondale - a dedicated track frame with horizontal chain stays and horizontal dropouts i'll just wait it out - i'm in no rush being that i already have a bike =) EDIT: the couriers and messengers in perth all hang out at the "one spot" all day waiting for jobs - reckon it'd be a good idea to see if they have any old frames they no longer want??? i reckon that could be a winner but they'd probably want me to pay the eartch for a piece of garbage they have... plus those guys put their bikes thru some serious shit... marc? what you reckon of this i just wanted a smaller frame because - well... i for one would like a smaller more "flicky" frame... and also this way my gf / mum etc can borrow it - watching my gf get on my capo is like watching a circus ringmaster ride a penny farthing - only a lot less gracefull speaking of which fixies were the "in thing" now it's "brakeless bmx riding" .....2012... the mayan prediction.... the riding craze is predicted to be.... the... mother fucking penny farthing up in this bitch. and one more - best pic ever. imagine - in about 18 months time... the people who complain about the pancake eating roadbikers will be complaining about the tea sipping monacle wearing penny farthing-ers EDIT - why the hell is the second bloke with the modernistic bike running a penny farthing with both a back brake (sensible) AND a front brake???? little bit dangerous don't you think? also could this imply freewheel cog? again isn't that a little dumb??? didn't a guy in queensland die yesterday doing something slightly more responsible than riding a penny farthing freewheel with front brakes? (he died riding a wheelie bin down a steep hill - apparently he died laughing his arse off though) but seriously i can't think of anythign more terrifying than an unstable useless obsolete bike that is too high to dismount from that can move faster than my legs can pedal... terrifying shit!
  2. godspeed i must confess i was looking @ your gtr yesterday and drooling - i don't really like R33 gtr (probably because it's the GTR most favoured by "modders" who have a thing for tica mica coloured interiors..) but when 33R is modified perfectly and kept clean with clear maintained headlights.... like yours is... they are close to perfection in a car quintessential japanese styling, tough without explanation, round yet boxy.. underassuming yet classy good car. /poem anyway that particular figaro is for sale on carsales i beleive... it's a personal import btw
  3. welllllllll call me crazy but could i just "STUFF" a 700c wheel into the 650 frame? the difference between 650 and 700 isn't that big is it??? wah. maybe i'll just wait this one out....
  4. ok marc - in rebuttal to your MAMMOTH post lol 650 wheels are triathlete sizes, however 650c is a farily common fixed gear size too... weinmann make sweet looking 650c wheels similar to velocity deepV / B43 vibe but machine faced for brake ready COULD use a chain tensioner, but i prefer to remove links from chain and make it shorter... hate tensioners =P besides - seller even says on his ad "Also have several sets of 650c TT wheels coming up for sale soon (Corima / Zipp / Velocity)" sooooooooooo it can't be THAT hard... but yes i am aware of 650c's rarity and scarceness... but the parts are very much still out there!!!! there's also this frame linked there that i was considering but at this point in time i favour the cannondale because i KNOW cannondale make amazing frames... raleigh i'm unfamiliar with...
  5. cheers guys sorry for the late reply - like i said don't check back here often LOLLLLLL. okay so can one of you help me out? i'll make you dinner. no kidding. haha or buy you a beer or three - beer you never tried before - really good beer.
  6. i don't really wanna disclose what i'm bidding on incase i get outbid by someone who reads this (never know) but here is the frame i want feel free to have a look at it - what do you guys think? marc? decent frame? seems rust free... i'd probably paint it - don't really feel the magenta...
  7. ....no, you! ..NO GIVESIES BACKSIES!!!
  8. *Attaches flamesuit for uploading my bike* 500 bucks u say... u guys seem clued up about ths stuff can i call on u guys for parts advice??? i found a 80's vintage cannondale dedicated track frame in good nic so going that route instead of some dodgy road frame
  9. gnarly bike is gnarly. the riding position must kill ur abs n quads tho!!! maybe its angle of pic...
  10. +1 liker of white over here nothing beats a white car.. white.
  11. pffft. dura ace... ...indeed. *walks away pretending to know what i'm talking about*
  12. bikers eat pancakes? nobody told me!!!! *exxy bikes still can't keep up with me... they get pretty pissed off too when a single speed glides by and overtakes them =P
  13. also - the current fork is built to take a 27" wheel... will that take a 700c fullsize? i'm confused between the modern 27 inch measurement and the french 700c.. is there even a difference?
  14. velocity wheels are great - i'm not disputing their quality! never have never will - except over here out west one of the comp riders cracked a wheel on a pot hole and broke his neck due to an accident last year not cool i *may* go velocity wheels it's just that i don't want a bike that will obviously blend in with hipster fixie riders... orritey i'm gonna do it - and i'm gonna build for a lot less than a grand!!!! FYI my bike was $1790 rrp if i can build for less than the 1,100 i paid for it, i'm wrapped.
  15. sweetttttt.... got pics???
  16. hey thread revival here. @ marc - I'm kinda thinking about building a bike... i have no reason to do so - i have a good bike as we speak and it flies along... but... i just want to build a bike... in saying that, i want another single speed... my caad5 optimo frame serves me very well and nobody can keep up with me on it... so i simply want "another bike" by getting an older frame, POSSIBLY painting it and adding my own PROPER componentry to it... but not your average "fixie" componentry... ie... no flat bars, no Velocity wheels, no fix gear, no brooks saddle ... i'm thinking bits like tektro aero brakes cannondale headset san marco saddle truATV cranks etc - new school parts on an oldschool frame the frame i can attain, is a raleigh pro-am 1980's build... looks to be in good condition... 54cm steel frame with vertical dropouts... my question is - do you think it's a DUMB ASSED idea to "build a bike"? (your bias against single speed aside) do you think that a raleigh pro-am frame would be a good frame to start with?
  17. hey guys - this shouldn't be too big of a problem i think... basically... a31 cefiro.. most / all power window componentry is replaced or new... except today while driving i was winding up my passenger and passenger rear windows and they stopped mid way... i thoguht hmm weird mustn't have done it right pressed it again and they went up it did this like 2 maybe 3 times by this stage i'd recognised it's obviously a connectivity / electrical fault not a motor fault... if it was motor they wouldn't work AT ALL not just stop half way then start again but now my windows will not come down whatsoever now all three non-driver windows are stuck "up" and won't come down... but driver window works perfectly on both the "auto down/up" switch and the regular switch but the other three windows will not work from either the driver master control, or their own respective controls... WHAT WOULD BE CAUSING THIS!?!?! please tell me it's only a fuse somewhere... i'm a bit of an auto electrical noob so please help me! i haven't got time to check cefiro forums all day so if you reply or just wanna send me an sms regarding this plleleeeasseeee let me know on 0404 756 446 thanks for the advice or help in advance guys
  18. raphael... cos i like ya i did ur reaearch for yA. rims will fit perfect on euro accord rimtuck.com/photos/1243106962.jpg rimtuck.com/photos/1243106948.jpg those are similar style wheels too bbs same width and offset as seller... on accord euro.. works out good cos offsets are pretty useless on most other cars but go good on euro accord dont u think???
  19. i think he means an R33 gts-t with an rb25 motor buy the CAR in it's condition not what the odometer says. real talk.
  20. ^^^was gonna say this but wasn't sure if it'd insult your intellect you could also unplug the solenoid / fuse that controls power going to the front wheels too making it RWD only and just do an RWD dyno wait a minute 4wd isn't the problem well yeah you cant hold the gear like nic said
  21. "power" would be best for that.... realistically they're a dyno shop should /they/ do the driving????
  22. ok im not voting nor do i often lend advice to the cosmetic section cos most of you end up doing dumb shit to your cars anyways ie balsa wood spoiler mod (lol) anyways - the colour of car you want is going to be the one YOU decide on - nobody else all i have to offer in the way of advice would be bias from myself... being that i personally drive a white car, (not pearl - it's ACTUAL white) and... all colours look fantastic... hands down they would all look good on a GTR... thing is - how "aftermarket" are you trying to make the car look? are you going for a "modified" look or a look that whispers to you... if modified - purple and blue are great the galaxy grey .... i wouldn't bother - it's too much the same as what you already have to warrant getting a respray i think but that white - white is a very under-assuming colour... here's some things i have to tell you about white it NEVER shows it's age (my car's 20 years old and the paint is still better condition than most newer cars) it makes cars look brand new - you compare a white R32 and line it up next to a black / charcoal one - you'll see what i mean it NEVER goes out of style it's a grown ups colour - none of this wasabi green / burnt orange / electric blue crap you see on commodores now it doesn't attract unwanted attention from bogans telling you to drop a skid + less attn from police it contrasts PERFECTLY with the other parts of your car ie: white paint on black tinted windows, black tyres, white paint complimenting nice wheels, white paint bringing out chrome headlights etc... and defining the gaps in the slotted GTR grill even more giving it that oldschool charming look - and hey, you're getting a diffuser and carbon parts... what better way to show them off?? white represents CLEAN. you see a white tshirt and you think CLEAN. white bedsheets, CLEAN... white peop - -(kidding) purple and blue - looks GREAT at an autoshow off, but on the street looks a bit tacky IMO not to shoot you down on your choices this is merely my opinion... but white is just one of the best colours there is
  23. i think you should shut up and make the god damn game yourself no that sounds silly - i understand - but seriously you could probably amake it fast than polyphony digital. i want food.
  24. serious? it makes HUGE difference... it's also known as "snow" switch... basically in less than desirable weather ie: rain you flick the hold switch... car starts in second and configures the gears to keep low rev range, high torque, low power... so that the wheels don't spin and you don't lose control so easilly it's basically an ancient form of traction control
  25. haha @ beerbaron's civic scenario or in australia's (particularly western australias) case where EVERYONE has a 4wd / crossover shaped / car whos lights point directly at the car in front of their's mirrors - and thus into the drivers eyes i am (obviously) in WA and i use my hazards all the time a-la japan... i got the coutesy factor from malaysia however, they drive also on their freeways with them on to let other cars know that it's "ok to pass/overtake" but i personally switch hazards on whenever i see cars in front of me braking hard so that drivers behind me know a traffic hazard is coming up, or cat runs across road / drunk stumbles onto street / tree arm laying across road etc for cars behind that may not see it... i really should move to japan i think...
