  1. my thoughts are - you've already saidyou have a 700hp GTR you want a car that you can put prams and baby seats into that "still has balls" why do you want a car that has balls if you're carrying a baby around!!!! haha caldina GT-4 is apparently quite slow all things considered - and are only avail as a manual., stagea is not as fast as a skyline and are apparently terrible on fuel consumption - thoguh they do look bad ass legnum - hmmmm nah what about a subaru liberty B4 blitzen? my personal bias says... if you're going to be carrying around kids, kids means prams, as kids grow, prams become bikes, bikes become karate nunchuks, skateboards, scooters, mum might wanna do yoga etc etc... wagon won't fit all of this. my bias says go tarago.
  2. i know, right??? and anybody that DOES have a psp - they NEVER own a ps3 also - and hav no idea of their true capabilities they just say "ohh duhhhhhhh i just put duh bwain twainer in duh mushine then i play it on duh buss"
  3. see - i edited my post to say "be cautious" - but removed the edit because i thoguht it might jeopardise chris's or kris's or other people's business dealings... but i'm re-posting it anyway.. i think people should beware of alphard due tot he following factors which are i don't think you guys actually have any clue as to how big they are - these things are far bigger than elgrand. kristian - on a personal note there is a possibility you could switch your focus of sourcing htese cars from malaysia or jakarta? they're in high abundance over there and could perhaps be imported in higher volume from there.. just saying.. the alphard has high amount of electronic gadgetry, many of which australia's auto electricians /cant/ read japanese. nor will they know how to fix them should something go wrong. don't get me wrong - alphard is a beautiful van. but a freight on board price from car yard is approx 35K++ starting for an early build 1st gen base model - that's not talking about the vellfire. which by the way kristian - you posted a second generation alphard.. i'm working on the assumption you're looking to get approval for sevs of the first gen.. first gen 2nd gen - note how the arch of the drivers windows "curves" and is more rounded than the first gen.. vellfire wasn't made for the 1st gen to my knowlege please correct if wrong... and while i admit - the alphard is a beautiful van.. you're lokoing between 40-55K landed n complied for one of these as somoene else stated ... you could save about 15 or so grand or so getting a top of the range leather n woodgrain "tarago" and keeping the money for possible modifications like i know you guys have probably got a bee in your bonnet about these cars but please see my point of view - this could cost a lot of people a lot of money - does the family demographic and the egular australian van buying market (families and such) - will they REALLY be listening when you're offering a 50 grand van that's about 6 years old with no warranty and little to no aftermarket support? i personally doubt it.. thoguhts??? (ps - in my opinion i prefer the tarago to alphard. the alphard is REALLY just... blergh)
  4. playstation portable great device - great idea - only getting better now witht he release of playtv released in australia, PSP sychronisation now means you can access your PlayTV recorded shows AND watch TV anywhere in australia - not too shabby!!! but first of all - i'd like to have a little gripe... PSPGo it's the newest model slide version of the PSP the screen is slightly smaller - it has bluetooth connectivity, the battery life is slightly longer, BUT they don't take UMD's, and games are only available as software for the console. the guy i know that works at a game shop says - we don't sell them. they are $370 we only make about 10-20 bucks for sale of the console... as opposed to a higher figure off previous PSP models PSPgo you can only buy software from playstation store... now - thing i wanna say is - through out australia, people have BOUGHT games from stores, EB, JB, Target, Game, Gametraders etc... sure, sony hav kept a few of these stores in business over the years - but in turn, they have kept sony's game division in business for years from developer, manufacturer, distributor, distributor, to retail - after middle man after middle man, you pay about 60AUD for a new PSP game sony hav knocked out the middle men and sell straight from sony online - no case, no manual, nothing, just software... and still charge 60 bucks?? that's just rude... sony's taking biting the hand that has fed them for years here - i don't think it's fair.. anyway psp is a cool device - here you can discuss the "did you knows" of the PSP for instance - did you know that PSP has a GPS receiver peripheral and can be used as a GPS in conjunction with this - you know how people plug their Ipod into their cars input jack?? well - ps3 play mp3 too... and videos on a larger screen, and you can purchase car mounting units for them too. so you can use the PSP as a GPS and media control centre while you're driving... then, when you'r done - unplug it and take it to work and play GTPSP while you're working. discuss!
  5. ironchef - please explain what you mean by "not yet" ninjaface? is there something you're in knowlege of that we are not in the knowlege of? ..is it something that should be shared in this thread to contribute the betterment of our minds? i don't see how they could be compliable... personally... on the grounds of... they're HUGE. their lights are completely different to ADR standard... (the brake lights hyperflash under harsh braking - a euro thing) and they're huge. i saw these EVERYWHERE when i was in jakarta - thought that if they're everywhere then they hav to be cheap - i was wrong... so... so very wrong. but perhaps at auction is a different story!!
  6. macdog - that bike is not worth $1750. if a shop is quoting $1750 for that bike you're describing they're having a lend of you. it's worth $1,100 MAX. it's a 2009 bike, it's clearance now. anyway results of my 53km bikerace. i am a retard. the night before i decided to fully degrease and dry out my entire bike chain,. then re-lube it. at the start line i noticed my back wheel wasn't sitting right - lube had got into the axle and slid one side of the wheel over. race started - by brakes were scrubbing the back wheel. had to pull over and re-adjust my brakes, this did nothing. so i hit the wheel back to somewhat straight.sliding the other side of the wheel over - causing chain sag.. chain sag and over lubed chain means chain comes off easilly.. so i lost about 5 mins pulled over with my brakes. chain came off 5 times... and i had to ride a bit slower so as not to hav the chain demount.. so in total i would've lost about 20 mins of my possible time - but - that's riding what can ya do i finished in the 25th percentile of riders with an average speed of 28.9 km/h very dissappointed witht he overall goings on ie - bike breaking down majorly.. but.. givent he circumstances.. to finish in the top quarter of riders i really can't complain.. EDIT - looks at BIT_SUSS's rides... my money's on NO. haha
  7. has anyone got it? has anyone used it? has anyone seen anything glaringly wrong with it??? i hear mixed things but it seems to keep advancing - canyou still not get SBS on it?
  8. yeah im with nforsa i dunno what you PC guys are on about all i do is play ps3 so far only single player... im not good enough to even PRESS the multiplayer option!!! the guy saying he can pass on veteran etc - that's insane!!!
  9. yeah my mum's BOV's work fine and my auto RB20 cefiro with standard bov charged thru the pod filter (semi-dose sound) sounds fine
  10. do you think you are who i think i am ? seven. they're nice cars but my *personal* two cents - they're not worth it - i had my heart mind body adn soul set on one of these - but i didn't buy one because owning one would be like ..you know those headache tablet ads? "tired of waking up feeling like this?" *cue jackhammer sound, cue car honking sound, cue kids screaming, cue glass breaking etc etc* it'd be like that ad only it wouldn't go for 10 seconds. it'd go for like 5 years.
  11. i'd like to add - i was actually considering buying this soarer over the last week on account of my gf can no longer buy it.. thinking long n hard about it i came to the conclusion that having DRIVEN a soarer - i would WANT a manual one - it wouldn't feel right ya know?? like - heavy, bulky, luxury, cruiser... in ... a manual... it's like wearing a really nice 5 piece suit... jacket, shirt, wesket, bowtie, dress shoes - but then wear track pants to finish it off... i'd prefer an auto
  12. broget a trackbike - they're wicked, if other people dont like it who cares they're not the ones riding it you are
  13. i'll be thinking of you next time i bang the crap out of my gf then marc lol
  14. back pedal brakes just count as boomgnarly
  15. yeah, you're right - gear levers make the bike look STUPID and so do HELMETS and so do LIGHTS and so does SAFETY and so does CONVENIENCE so long as we look awesome =)
  16. manual tacks about 5K onto it - i was trying to get my gf to buy that soarer but her mum won't lend her the money / guarantuer her loan for a second hand / import ...i don't really know why - like why the hell would you want to ramp your daughter into more debt on a vastly depreciating assest - the soarer, in a manual, will not depreciate, and if it does - it won't depreciate much... maybe i'll buy it..
  17. you can like it but just don't ride fixgear =P
  18. well the 5.5 figure was based on the following calculation step one jump on scales step two read scaled weight of my own weight three pick up bike four jump back on scales five subtract my human weight and be left with the bike wieight - which according to scales, was 5.5kg - which im sure is inaccurate figure and not to disagree but picking it up it defs doesn't weigh 7 or higher you can lift it effortlessly with one finger either way who cares and to stop a fix gear bike you either skid by locking out your knees and pushing back on your back foot.. or you just slow down your pedalling by gently pressing back on the pedals both are very bad for your knees - also another thing to take into account riding fixgear, is if the wheels are turning, the pedals are turning too. so that means... if you're turning. you're pedalling. if your turning - hard. you're leaning... hard... hard leaning and flaining pedals is not good fun should your pedal contact the bitumen. =) more colourful love.. few more variants of the capo
  19. another thing you;ll be amazed about with the capo - in total it weighs about 5.5 kg or less
  20. yes i do - on account of i don't want to go under a bus - but lately for something different i have been thinking about attaching a fix cog to the other side of the hub to see what all the fuss is about... but not too worried i cruise at about 35/45kmh most times so if fixie riders wanna tease me for riding with brakes and freewheel then be my guest and settle it in a race. pink slips is all i bet
  21. personally i see nothing wrong with your road bike... but if you want to get something different by buying the same thing as everyone else then go right on ahead... haha but seriously if you're looking at getting the cannondale capo then i can't think of anything that can surpass it's speed. most road racers struggle to keep up with me until i hit an uphill.. then i beat them on the uphill cos the lower gear ratio means i can smash them easier.. another advantage is the drop bars with the aero brakes.. capo is worth about $1600 RRP but i paid a bit over a grand as a clearance, the 2009 is white on grey with purple chain and purple wraps ^^ pic doesn't do it justice... you can't see the white rims there... i've swapped the purple chain and wraps out for white cork wraps.. light blue KMC chain and hot pink gussett pedals.. look cool but mroe for function - bigger pedals means more agressive stomp, which is what you need on a track bike.. for 2010 the capo has been released in the following liveries ultra faggoty hipster chrome and this wicked ass black both are avail in drop or flat bar... i suggest drop to be different to all the homers out there
  22. haha - yeah all above posts are true - and i have known forever that fixies are a fashion accessory - but only recently on a visit to the cafe strip have i noticed that they are dangerously ridden by people who CANNOT RIDE for instance - i would be on a bike regardless, mountain, track, road, racer, whatever.. because i love riding - i like single speed because it's more of a challenge than with gears for training purposes - plus, personal preference, i like the un-interrupted handlesbars without the integrated brake handles, i like to drape my fingers along that to lock my arms out at steeper angle.. but people who ride fix gear and can't ride to begin with - that's dangerous! macdog - what is your budget for a fixgear? my opinion will obviously be viewed as bias - however my opinion the cannondale capo is the ducks nuts. this is comparing it having ridden: specialized langster masi trek soho S - (IMO this is the WORST frame ever. sluggish as f**k) Giant bowery '72 Giant Bowery mashup if you're looking for a good ride - get a capo and pay the extra if you're looking for hipster bling.. mongoose maurice supreme colab MashSF X Cinelli colab (this is not just bling, these thigns hammer but no way will you afford or there's pieces of shit like these ones
  23. i hate fixies. i hate that my bike is in their category. "oh you got a fixy do ya?" i hate people who ride fixies. i hate the false sense of superiority they have about their bikes which are merely a fashion accessory. i hate that people who cannot ride a regular bike opt to ride a dangerous fixwheeled bike along a busy stretch of road. and will not stop at a red light because of the fact that they don't know how to stop them. i hate that their general demographic choose not to wear a helmet or have any lighting on their bike or reflectors or brakes. because it "ruins the lines of the bike." infact i hate people who ride with no helmet in general. don't use the excuse "it's my perogative if i dont want to wear one, i deal with the consequences." because it's not. if a car hits them, then driver has to live with that. as does your family, and your friends. you don't see driver's saying "it's my perogative if i wanna wear a seatbelt or not, i deal with the consequences" so wear your f**king helmet. resting your helmet on your handlebars is not wearing your helmet. female riders. putting your helmet in your basket is not wearing your helmet. i hate that people use the excuse "i don't ride often so i don't bother with lights". you don't see motorists saying "i dont DRIVE often so i dont bother switching on my lights" or this was a good one, "i dont have lights cos i only ride on the footpaths - dont need a light to ride on the footpath" one - it's illegal to ride on footpath completely. two. you're hurting downt he footpath at about 25/30kmh on some superwide mountain bike. pedestrians can't see you. you can't see them. grow a brain. god /rant to me - a fixy is a cheap 10 speed frame, that weighs heaps because it's made of dirty old steel. with some overpriced paintjob worth more than the bike itself. deepV wheelsets for fashion. not for function (not that velocity wheels are that functional. i hear they're prone to cracking) a fixy is a bike that wieghs heaps and goes slow due to it's weight, in conjunction with the drivetrain geared ridiculously high (47T/15T) that they can't get up any hills my bike may "look" like a fixy because it looks cool in the eyes of a fixy rider. but cannondale caad frames are lightweight. and the geometry is far more responsive than a shitty "fixy". and drop bars are handy for riding aero. that said - i do have a chip on my shoulder and cannot wait to do this bike race this sunday against all he roadies =)
  24. haahahaha - and speaking from experience - the hours do drop i'm a fulltime temp - i make good money doing it and gain awesome exposre and references which snowball my career, however ...if i complete a contract and don't walk straight into another, it could be a while between paychecks. that's hwy i don't have a loan and just pay cash for everything
  25. ....dude - here. click this link please absolute minter. but still - the auto's hammer. the auto is not like the commodore's or falcons or skylines. it's a really well set up system but alas the 1J is a mighty beast of an engine. and that is a very affordable manual soarer for it's condition. esp in black on black. very very rare car. and negotiable too.
