  7. yeah - why should a cyclist pay registration fees? no pollution, no road damage, no parking spaces, also - cycles don't hit people or crash into people and kill them... during the 1990's i remember there was so much publicity and media promotion for people to ride bikes in australia, "look left, look right, look BIKE" (remember that?) or "burn fat - not oil" etc etc or 'give way to cyclists" there used to be a lot of government propaganda about how you need to be cyclist aware on the roads - this has dissipated (sp) over the last 5-10 years, as a result, motorists are more vigilant, ignorant, and selfish on the shared roads. you may not notice it - and this may not be the case over east, but in front of the line of every traffic light, there are 5 diamonds and a picture of a bike painted on the road, this denotes that area is to be left vacant for if there is a cyclist present, so that the cyclist can be noticed and thus not run over as cars jock for lane changes and traffic light races. it's a dangerous world out there for cyclists... not to mention idiot teenage minded guys who throw maccas cups at you or swear at you as they drive past you... which - is obviously frightening, last thing you need when you're pedalling in a field of ignorant drivers is to be startled or have your concentration comprimised. it also upsets me when (these are the most common for this attitude) female drivers openly express their views in conversation that when ever they se a cyclist on the road they "drive right up their arse and toot the horn - they have no right to be on my roads" (actual quote - one of many) bikes have every right to be on the road - it's a legal requirement, it's just not advertised so people think they have the right to play judge jury and executioner because "we pay registration fees and you don't" the attitudes of motorists needs to be shaken up. but it will take government awareness to acheive this
  8. well - that's obviously taking things too far - but i have a few questions in perth - there are "bike/bus" lanes, which buses and cycles share - in sydney, where do bikes go? general roads are too dangerous half the time and cyclists run the risk of dieing or being cleaned up, footpaths are dangerous too because pedestrians go on them,. so where are cyclists supposed to go?? i've had my share of close calls with motorists who feel the need to do "whatever it takes" to overtake me (even if it means putting lives at risk) just to pass me - they don't factor in that i'm doing a similar speed to them.. and i admit there have been times i've nearly been hit that i completely lose my temper - i've been known to smack a window or two in my time, or scream at the odd driver that cuts me off so they can pull into chicken treat that 5 seconds earlier... physical violence is TOO FAR of course... but the way the journalist has portrayed cyclists in that article is laughable - cyclists illegally using the transit lanes? where ELSE do cyclists go?
  9. it's a high hit - it's repairable - it's a supercar - if you repaired it you'd save 10 thousand dollars off the cost of a GTR alone ...whoop de freaking do. i'm just saying, if you can afford to pay 92K for a wrecked car. THEN pay for the FREAKING HEADACHE. associated with repairing it - and paying like, waht, 80K for the repairs? (let's SAY it costs this much for arguements' sake.) if you can afford 172K for a frankenstein car that's been crashrepaired... then you can afford to just go to the nissan shop and just buy a new car - it's financed, no upfront payment, and you have a new car that way you don't have to be the guy that hangs out with the other GTR community and be like "yeah i bought a wreck and repaired it" "oh wow aren't you cultured" i'm just saying actually you know what everyone's entitled to their opinions, we're all obviously just disagreeing so let's agree on one common thing... ..you're all wrong except for me.
  10. yeah - your point?
  11. oh wow so some bloke (let's assume) has bought this car for 92K to part it out and wreck it who in the fuck is going to pay 35 grand for a freaking engine. i ask you. who. WHO.
  12. LOL (the ring) no seriously that's a much better photo, =)
  13. hahaha awwwwwwww she's cute! natural cute, blue eyes n brown hair, very nice sam (credit is given where credit's due..) crap photos though (no offense)
  14. you're a router.
  15. SO WAIT - THE CHICK IN THE PICS WITH THE HAT AND THE JACKET IS SAM... CORRECT??? oh sorry not yelling i'm just doing some graphic work capslock was on - cbf typing it again
  16. oh wait i see - doesn't affect me +)
  17. ok soooooooo .... im sorry i don't understand the technical speak of ping and such - infact the last 10 or so posts make no sense - i have a PS3 - can someone break this down for me in baby terms please?
  18. if i may be so bold - would the "vendor" it was returned to - is there a chance that this is the original owner? if it's the original owner - insurance would have paid out the write off cost of the vehicle, and the owner would've already received an insurance payout from the accident, wait - that makes no sense - the owner wouldn't have purchased the wreck obviously my question is - bidding ended at 92 thousand (apparently) so who's "selling" the wreck??? ie, who's vested interest is it for this wreck to command more worth than 92 thousand? and - how can the interested party be so greedy? it's not worth 92 thousand - let alone more (in my opinion)
  19. oh and - all you guys talking about "could this be R35 / m35" it's already been done see?
  20. ahh - i'd say mroe than 10-20K less... here's the thing - the market for a GTR driver isn't that of say - an S13 ie "for sale - S13 - crash repaired - blown head gasket - cracked manifold" "hey mate give ya 2 grand for it" "ok" *guy buys silvia and throws sr20 in it and uses as a cheap track hack* your average GTR driver isn't going to want to repair it - will cost mroe than it's worth - if you can afford the 70K or whatever for the wreck, and can afford to have it repaired by nissan with genuine parts (which you'll have to do) then get it re-registered and bla bla ...you'd just go to the nissan shop and say "hey mister nissan can i have a gtr pls?" my thoughts are - what's the point? it's a write off - leave it in the pickles auction house, it's NOT an investment. it's NOT a race car. it's NOT worth parting out. [pancakes.
  21. i'm the biggest attention seeking skank on here. no joke - ask marc - i'm a total poser apparently! butttttt i care not.
  22. wow that's really weird because I guess it's my valet experiences talking, this huge array of expensive, exotic, or just plain sexy cars, but if the guy getting out was a complete dick, it made no real difference to his appeal (or lack thereof). The best guys have nothing to prove, no one to be accountable to, they drive their cars for the joy of what they have. My fave was an old (OLD) E Class Merc, with frayed seatbelts and no aircon, that drove like a tank, but was so different to the Audi, Porsche, BMW, BMW, BMW, HSV, BMW, Porsche, BMW, Peugeot, Audi, BMW, BMW, C-Class Merc, E-Class Merc, BMW, lineup we were used to.... The guy could've easily traded up to whatever he liked, but he loved that car, and our joking about it's high value when compared to the cheap Aston Martin's etc it was parked near. Far more an apealing character than the Ferrari driving git that threw his keys at you on his way by and refused to check his vehicle in. (Ferrari, what Ferrari? Did you collect a docket for it on your way in? No? Well we don't seem to have a record of your vehicle ever being here.... lolololol... Tempting much!) That and the GIANT Land Rover the guy had brought with him from the USA and converted to right hand drive as he couldn't bear to part with it.... Impossible to park, difficult to manoeuver, had wierd squeaks and grinds as a result of the steering conversion, but I'd run for the keys whenever I saw it come in, partly as the looks you get for parking something like that are classic, and partly just coz it was friggin cool. YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN!?
  23. kralster i'll fkn staunch you bro.
