hi welcome to the bicycle thread ...so anyway i been getting back into riding, marc im hoping ofr your input here i currently have a shogun trail breaker one and it's been a great bike but it's now ...12 or so years old i took it to the bike shop yesterday cos last sunday i came off pretty hard and f**ked some parts up upon realising the price involved to fix the bike equating to damn near $300 i decided there's not much point spending $300 on a bike that's still old and will still be only worth $50 so enter new bike there was this malvern star can't remember the name of it but the bike shop had it on sale for $500 it was a dark bronze colour and had disc brakes, lockable shocks, amazingly smooth gearing do you know the bike im talking about??? is it any good? is this a good price?? also that bike would mostly be used for riding to work (it's about a 30 odd minute ride so i want something with serious LEGS on it that isn't a homo racing bike) but i also want a 2nd bike for weekend use and riding to friends houses that LOOKS cool more than anything, but is also a great bike i'm liking the electra straight 8.. it's tough, sleek lines without looking too try-hard like some of the other cruisers out there i know i know the bike is useless for hooning down the mountain etc but i think there's a certain degree of coolness about a grown man riding a bike that just looks SICK LOOK AT IT!!! hahaha discuss what setups are you guys running??

sounds like ECU either needs tuning chipping or replaced with greddy e-manage OR check your cooler piping etc, there *may* be a leak being that you've done this ALL AT ONCE though, it really could be ANYTHING... ...srsly it's best to do these things piece by piece that way you know "it was running before i did **** - so it has to be the ****"

update i test drove a micra lastnight i still like them but at the same time there was not anythig that STOOD OUT of the norm for me nothing made me say "oh wow that's really cool i want to change into this car from my exsisting car" but they doo look nice and the fuel consumption would be suh weeeeeeeeettttt

not sure but cima is all auto aswell im not really TOO concerned about the manual / auto thing my cefiro is auto i like being able to turn corners while eating a quarterpounder while texting on a mobile n clip my toenails at the same time

no thanks. i already have my contacts set without the need for use of him. it's quicker and cheaper to do it the way i already have planned and BOTH cars would be modified of course, i'll never drive a standard car.. EVER how will the micra be a fun car though? like, i don't get it how will that car be fun than a cima? what's not fun about the cima's 4.5ltr multi award winning V8? haha i personally don't see either car as being more fun than the other really the micra is a younger person's car which would suit me more, being that im only 22 and MY micra would not look like a hairdresser car, i'd make it look sweet don't you worry! =) but i would do the same with a cima as well GRRRRRR this is so hard i'm in a glass case of emotion

GUYS! and GIRL! i've spent the last year or so wanting a new car, i have a cefiro, but i want something else, nothing wrong with the ceffy, justttttttt rwd, turbo, powerful, me behind the wheel i don't trust it ANYWAY this brings me to my next car BUT im not sure what i want! so, i was hoping you gangsters would be able to help! SO my choices are F50 Nissan Cima or the current model Nissan Micra these cars are complete polar opposites, the cima being a VIP saloon and the micra being... well.. a micra.. cima pro's are... unique, will probably never be common, leather woodgrain sleek looks V8 many features car that represents being "grown up" cima cons compliance is an issue cos it would be shipped and complied in another state, then re-transported to WA it's a second hand car petrol would cost a lot (i don't really care about this though) parts and service would be a major issue that comes with their rarity and scarceness plus the other major con is ...i have to IMPORT it... like, i work 48 or so hours a week i dont have time to be worrying about importation and phonecalls to gov't agencies etc NOW micra pros new cheap economical would look good the way i intend to modify it walk into yard, buy car, get car, drive car, micra cons 1.4 motor doesn't seem much fun to drive considering its the "new model" hasn't this car been out now for like... fkn YEARS!? new car = depreciation oh and being a new car you're fairly limited with "what you can do" modification wise before you void your warranty so.... ok stop right there. it's not strange. your car is almost 20 years old. and so is that spoiler.. but do go on... it goes down at 80-100km/h apparently, so take the car on the freeway, with a friend, get upto speed and tell your friend to hold the wheel while you get out n check.. =D in all seriousness i would say itd be hydraulic motor, on the left, because it's getting a response in the electrical sense, but on the right side, could be electrical or both... because it's getting neither response from what you're saying

well i give you a few scenarios here you COULD buy a 180, source a non turbo low km engine, take the old engine out, undo all the intercooler works, undo the bolts to the front pipe, get a crane to lift the engine out, cut your hand in the process, get another crane, put the NA motor into the engine bay, bolt the engine up, realise you've lost a few bolts in the process, swear your head off, then when your gf comes outside to see whats wrong say it's got nothing to do with the car (that way she won't get mad at you for botching up her 180sx) then try to start the car and realise you forgot to replace the ECU then go on NS.com trying to find someone willing to let a NA ECU for 180sx go for cheap, wait for mail while your gf asks you what is taking so long while you make excuses like "there's a part coming" then plug it in and start the car and VOILA NA 180SX HOORAY OR you could pay a performance mechanic $1500 or so dollars in labour to replace the engine because they can charge that much because they have a "backlog n they dont wanna take bookings unless you got the dosh for it" and be told you can "feel free to take it to a regular mechanic but they'll take you to the cleaners mate im doing you a favour" and give him the car which he has for two weeks meanwhile you contemplate whether or not it would have been easier to do it yourself then your gf would think your tuff as cos you know all about carsnshit OR you could get over it and buy something achievable in the big scheme of things. rather than a 15-20 year old piece of shit.
