Hi all I've finally got around to installing my hks gtrs turbo on my GTT and I'm unsure of which ports in it are oil feed and water feed and drain. Could anyone please confirm which ports these are? Also if anyone could confirm which ports are oil and water feed on my engine block/bay that would also be greatly appreciated Cheers

Search what you want and type "sau" at the end of it. It'll have these suggestions and at the bottom click the more from this website option -
Turbo Install, Cut Fuel Or Ignition?
re34perGTT replied to re34perGTT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah that's what I've read, but I've also read that you could potentially kill a turbo in the first few seconds so I'd rather not risk it Also I'm running a return flow fmic so there's all the piping above the spark plugs and I'd really like to do that as a last resort considering that'll take an hour or so to remove everything and re torque the plugs along with trying to fit that darn bitch of a pipe back up to the plenum inlet and fmic joint -
Profecs are the stupidest thing to tune. Warning boost pressure and start boost can be set in psi but actual boost is set in a percentage (face palm). Also what makes it stupider is that apparently it's the percentage of your actuator but if my 34 has a 3psi actuator and it's set at a full 100% higher how does it manage to boost past 6psi? Save yourself the headache and unless you plan on getting your car retuned I'd keep it as is

Hi all I'm installing a hks gt-rs turbo on my r34 GTT. Read that I should prime it before I drive and to do that I need to cut the fuel supply or ignition. Could anyone recommend which I should do? Would I just remove a fuse and if so does anyone know which one? Also if anyone has any tips like pouring oil directly into the turbo before etc feel free to share! Cheers

Correct Way To Wire Gauges R34 Gtt
re34perGTT replied to re34perGTT's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
That diagram sure does help! I just thought to write this up for anyone who isn't too good with wiring diagrams or multi meters that wanted to DIY install some gauges without all the hassle -
Hi all Recently installed some new gauges on my GTT and saw there was nothing (that I could find) on wiring them up correctly so decided to make a little post to help anyone out in future There's a pic of the stock wiring loom. The green/yellow is a 12v power line which you connect to so you don't blow any fuses in your lighter and the red wire with purple strip (third from the top) is your headlight switch. Strangely I couldn't find a strong ground so I just hooked up a wire to this bolt which is visible once the A/C unit is removed For the ignition wire I just spliced into my blue/white wire from my head unit but you can also do this with your ignition or lighter, I just found this the easiest to do Lastly I SOLDERED and HEAT SHRINKED all the wires together and made sure not to do the old twist and tape that so many of us are guilty of. Alternatively you can crimp but as temp is relatively low under the dash board I don't think it matters what you do Hope this helps and if anyone wants to know how to do the full install feel free to comment/pm me

The hosing for the Davies Craig kit I bought looks pretty wide so I just wasn't sure. And good idea with the bung on the sump but I'd like to do that as a last resort -
R34 Gtt Auto Trans Thermostat Help
re34perGTT replied to re34perGTT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Cheers for that Also reading the description the Inputs and outputs seem a little small in diamiter. Won't that restrict flow? And while I'm here I'm looking to install an oil temp gauge and I need a housing for the temperature sensor. Would you happen to know where to get one ? -
R34 Gtt Auto Trans Thermostat Help
re34perGTT replied to re34perGTT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ah that's what I wasn't sure about. Cheers for that guys. Also cheapest I can find an external thermal bypass is like $50+. Is there any thermostat from Supercheap or something I could use ? If so what one would you recommend and does anyone know what's the minimum temperature for safe performance and for the thermostat to open up ? Cheers -
R34 Gtt Auto Trans Thermostat Help
re34perGTT replied to re34perGTT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys. But as this is a daily and gets used in mornings when it's fairly cold I'd like to be able to get it to temperature quicker and I'm not a big fan of cooler covers. Also since I'm doing a shift kit, trans temp gauge and trans cooler I'd like to do it properly and add the thermostat while everything's pulled off. I'm slightly confused with the plumbing of the stock cooler but. Is it not just a straight line from the tranny to the cooler then a line straight back to the tranny ? Or does it connect to the Intercooler as well somewhere along the line ? -
Hi, I'm upgrading my trans cooler and I'm wondering if r34's have a thermostat on them already so I can just take the hoses off the stock one and put them on the new one. If it doesn't have one what would you guys recommend for one ? Preferably something not too pricey.. Also is the plumbing for the trans cooler just 1 line from the box to the cooler then 1 line back or is it connected to anything else ? Any help would be greatly appreciated !
