  1. But did you have a garage for the car? Or appropriate off-street parking.
  2. Yes I've got 1 bottle left.
  3. If your a Vic member there is an alarm installer than does discounted installs for SAU members. His alarm isn't perfect but its installed carefully and works... That said, don't you want a decent alarm? Or is this not your good car?
  4. +1 And there headlights are not super bright, they're pointed towards the ground, nothing compared to your average 4WD Anyway, this is the strange Australian laws.
  5. Anything to do with a paypal payment for a car sounds like a scam. My brother advertised on carsales and had a phone call and an email from someone in Malaysia offering to deposit the money into a paypal account, and they did! However there plan was to get paypal to withdraw payment before they got the car...(we worked it out before any money was sent) EDIT: They even did some research about what kind of car and where they might be driving it in there country. Does your email look like the CarSales paypal scam email? http://helpcentre.carsales.com.au/scam-defence/buyer-articles/february-2010/false-paypal-payment-scam/
  6. I will have a garage next year so that's an option then. Went with RACV, I had to "tweak" my policy a few times. "Thebuzz" insurance was an option, and $40 / year cheaper, but there is a little surface rust on the car and that means they won't cover it. Any surface rust larger than a 20cent piece means 3rd party cover. And this year of falcon they didn't paint the engine blocks RACV did: 10,000 agreed value $X 10,500 agreed value, same as above 11,000 agreed value, +$13 11,750 agreed value, +$13 (same as above) 11,800 agreed value, +40 (or more, hit the threshold!) The interesting thing with RACV is they have no interest in your modifications. As long as the car is roadworthy your covered. EDIT: I should mention I get a 5% loyalty discount (10% next year) off insurance
  7. RSR's are good but not good in the wet. If its his daily I wouldn't recommend them. I run them all round. $450-500 / tyre is a pretty good budget...plenty of choice there There's a sticky on tyres in this section of the forum.
  8. Running Sougi S6000 10w40 for now FYI
  9. Might do that, but there website still says they don't cover daily drivers. This is a daily driver.
  10. Hi, Just wondering if I'm missing any companies in my quoting process I've done ratecity/infochoice which then did quotes against Budget and some others. Commbank AAMI RACV Alliance Suncorp Real Insurance Bingle Just Cars The Buzz Budget Direct So far RACV & The Buzz have been the cheapest which was suprising Bingle won't touch a car with more than zero modifications Real won't touch this car because it has an exhaust, extractors, bonnet/headlight protectors & tint Thanks, Gareth
  11. I ended up paying $32.50 in the end, the choices were http://www.oilcheck.com.au/index.html or http://www.e-monitor.com.au/ The report looks cool on the first one, but there are "levels" of service you pay for, starting at ~$38. The first one didn't answer email inquiries, but call them, there customer service is excellent once you do get in contact I will probably post the analysis of BITOG and see what they think. Looks good to me The analysis took 2 days approx, and the report got emailed through. It was delayed because I bought a magnetic sump plug this time so delayed the oil change.
  12. Yes, a Greddy radiator generally keeping my water at 70 degrees. And an oil cooler with no obstruction from the radiator, mounted in the LHS side of the front bar. Oil is 70 degrees on most days under normal driving.
  13. UOA completed for German Castrol 0w30 Before everyone jumps on it and says its too thin, the car never saw above 85degrees on water/oil, except one really hot day where I think it might have hit 90degrees.
  14. Not relevant for our cars, but I had a not-at fault claim with real insurance. The other driver attempted to dispute. They said the other driver is wrong, paid out within 3 weeks and they'll sort out the other insurance company in there own time... That said, I hate when other people deny liability when they clearly did something illegal. This guy was driving straight through a left turning lane overtaking traffic.
  15. I believe the Attessa pump primes when you turn the car on and its pretty loud. Its not a loud fuel pump is it? I can't hear too much over the exhaust at idle, besides the engine
  16. A little late but better late than never
  17. Random question, but does anyone else have problems with the black hole magnets getting stuck to something to the LHS of the filter (maybe only on the GTR's)? Maybe its just my car because its got an oil cooler adapter down there and I use a smaller (R34 style) filter, but on the LHS there is anohter piece of metal so while putting the filter on I lost a magnet or two to it. I got them back...I think
  18. Good group buy for the magnets. Thanks for organising it :)

  19. Have you driven the Evo 7/8/9? I've heard a similar story about Evo vs Skyline...but haven't driven an Evo yet. Although, I vote for the XR6T due to price/performance ratio...(it should be cheaper soon)
  20. If you write a carefully written letter and you have an excellent driving record. You have a chance of getting out of it. I know two people that have got out of their first fines
  21. Can be replaced, have a look through my older posts. I'm sure I've mentioned the part multiple times as I had it replaced. It wasn't cheap though...
