hey all, recently got an intercooler kit. installed it today and now my front bar wont go back on. its an r32 gts4, with a gtr front bar, and its the lower part of the intercooler that wont let the bar slide on properly. i previously had only the intercool on, and now with the pipes in it had to be moved out a little to line up. both sides. has anyone got one of these intercooler kits and *not* had to cut their front bar apart? specifically a gtr bar? theres plenty of room in there, it just looks like the pipes swing out a bit too far cheers, shaun.

i own an r32 gts4 and cant be more happy with it. im glad i went the 4wd over the rwd. though i dont have experience driving a gtst, popping the 4wd fuse is only fun for a few days, after that i put it back in and enjoyed knowing the front would kick in if needed. not saying i thrash the car, though. as for bogging down, learn to launch and its not so bad. not saying im professional, but i find prerevving to 4000rpm and a hesitant style popping the clutch (not quite dumping, but a smooth dump? heh) will find the wheels chirp and rocket off. wet driving is great also, even my friend with a worked rb20 powered vl thinks the car is great in the wet. i suppose everyones right though, if youre chasing a cheap gtr by modding the hell out of it, probably better to get the gtr outright. gts4 is good for traction comfort i think. shaun.

hi all, im not all that upto speed with clutch specs and what they mean, but im picking up slowly. im gonna need a new clutch soon for my 150rwkw odd rb20 (looking to get more, hoping to break 200 at least and wondering what youd all suggest? sounds like you guys with the 9puk or 5puk and high pressure etc are probably pushing a fair bit more power then me, and the excede hd clutch sounds alright from the few people that have posted with that. to quote lebostyles, theyre good for 250rwkw.. reckon itd be a good clutch for my application? cheers, shaun.

hey all, im thinking of buying one of BATMBL's front/dump pipes from him but have been made aware there may be a problem with the car being 4wd and the front tramsfer case/shaft perhaps getting in the way. can anyone confirm if theyve gotten one onto their R32 gts4t please? im quite eager to purchase thanks! shaun.

(me never having had to replace a clutch before..) where can some of these be bought from? local shops (repco/autobarn) or ordered online? s.

thanks for the reply cubes nah no front mount yet, its bolted on but im yet to do the piping for it, hopefully get that done on my next long weekend in a few weeks, IF something else doesnt come up.. something regarding the turbotech, i was under the impression that it would hold constant boost because if boost was to drop, the turbotech would close off supply to the wastegate until it boosted back up again? now just thinking more, the boost line to the turbotech is from the compressor housing. if i were to supply boost from the plenum, then it would hold more constant boost, at the expense of the turbo spooling more and more to supply X amount of boost to overcome the lack of efficency between the turbo and plenum in my whole setup, right? hmmm. so basically i have to get it all flowing free (dumppipe and hookup my intercooler i suspect) to get it holding a more constant, non threatening (for the turbo) boost level. theres nothing wrong with my turbo (i hope) or the turbotech i guess? i think im answering my own questions, but support and confirmations would make me feel better shaun.

hey all, ive searched the forum, but everything was a bit different, or to do with r33's (while i have a 32) and stuff. ok, i bought a turbotech, installed it today. but thats only got a little to do with this. pre-install: would boost to .8bar at 3000rpm, then drop to .6bar by redline. mid-install: put the turbotech unit in, but removed the ball/spring (as i was having problems ealrier). with the little hole in the side of the unit, its kinda acting like a bleeder valve, now boosting .9bar at 3000rpm, then dropping to 0.7bar by redline. post install: put the ball/spring back in and starting turning it slightly as per instructions on how to get more boost. boosts to 1.0bar at 3000rpm, then drops to .8bar by redline. im guessing the turbotech is working fine (since it has the same drop in boost regardless of how it was setup), so what is causing this drop? carspecs: r32, rb20det pod filter, cat back exhaust, hks bov. could it be the stock dump pipe not flowing enough? i dont really wanna go messing around with boost when i dont have a solid knowledge of whats going on exactally. any opinions of help would be greatly appreciated, as for now ill just take it out run .8bar max.. shaun.

its a fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet just up from the battery (in an r32). have a look on the fusebox cover as to which fuse is which, should be one there labelled '4wd', possibly also '4wd / heater' or something like that from memory. its quite dark now so cant really go look (its 2.30am!), so i hope that helps ya out a bit. shaun.

hey all, i got abused by some bogan today! car kept blowing the intercooler pipe and id parked in a carpark at this park (heh!), and a vn wagen went by with some 30 odd year old fella sticking his head out the window to yell.. 'f*'ing jap crap!' pretty clever chap being able to string that sentence together im honoured! shaun.

I found a good cheap boost controller for $22!!!

hey all, another user to have just installed, and seem to be having problems. im certain i installed it all correct, but it seemed to over boost. here a pic of my setup.. PLEASE note the screw wasnt like that when i drove it, that was before i put it all back together (obviously). i am in doubts though that i have the right hose for pressure/vacuum, but thats the one everyone says. after it overboosted, i had the car idelling and popped the hose off the bottom of the turbotech, there was no vacuum at all. im even starting to think the hose fell off the compressor housing, but its gotten dark now and i cant have a real good look. can someone confirm my setup for me please.. or other opinions (beside the spring being stuck in the thread, the ball falling etc im sure the turbotech is working fine). cheers -
most people say 14psi is pretty much putting it on the line.. yet others have had it run 14psi fine for long periods while others again have had the turbos let go at lower 12psi or such. i think 14psi is risking the turbo blow, but you might get lucky or unlucky and have it at that or let go on even lower psi..

i found a packet of firecrackers that werent opened in my car when it got here. along with numerous coins, some 'for sale' type banner things for hte front window, and a little log folder type things with other jap stuff written in it. was meant to set the firecrackers off as celebration when the car got reg'ed for the first time.. i dont know what happened to them.. :S

the fuel filter was changed, they said the original was very heavy and possible to have been that blocked up it was starving the fuel line a little. shaun.

hey hey.. had a dyno run of my car the other, well month, but just got around to uploading the scan of the dyno sheet. i tend to see when people post their dyno results people ask for the graphs, what for im not exactally sure, so i thought id put mine up for y'all to see and comment on. mods: rb20det, gts4 running in rwd, pod filter, catback exhaust (4"), 9psi, i think thats it.. shows power in HP and the air/fuel ratios. is there anything that can be said from seeing the graph? thanks guys, shaun.

Hey all, well been reading here since before i got the car, and i had a website for my last car which showed the progression over the years and now im starting to do one for the skyline. only had it six months, so not much there, but who knows maybe someone might enjoy looking at it. so here it is.. http://members.optusnet.com.au/damage/ well any comments or opinions feel free to post! thanks! shaun.

i have a bit of a tick that speeds up with the higher the rpm, even staionary. only came about after i changed the oil..
-
it would work much the same.. just that having a turbo would actually give it purpose

the speeding fine i got recently was taken from the front. i guess if i followed this new law that a front plate isnt needed, i wouldnt have got the fine in the mail
