God Knows What This Would Be Like In A Smash!
krush replied to PranK's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i dont mind that really.. except that rear spoiler is, well bad. shockingly bad. who in their right mind would have one like that even? ack. dont mind the 34 front though, looks nice. the rear, it could have stayed 33 i think. -
in all honesty, i have nothign but praise for the Toyota Paseo that my mate owned. apart from the fact it had no torque (1.5ltire engine eat your heart out), and was damn small, the thing was economical, reliable, and looked half decent (though some think theyre ugly). it even had a bit of up.. just a bit.. if youre looking for a car that you and your girl can get around in, and noone else, then i reckon itd be a great car. its gonna be first on my list to look at if i ever sell the skyline. i think theyre up around the 87kw mark, but being like 900kg its enough to get your moving..

hah.. it surprizingly doesnt look half bad being a ute..

my girl used to be 'its just a car' also. its not quite as bad now that ive taught her to drive in it, she got her lisence and now she wants to drive everywhere.. its not 'just a car' as much these days. shaun.

i started with an $400 torana, kept it for a bout four years and sold it for $1200 (after doing a heap to it..). that gave me experience, then i got the gts4t. popped the 4wd fuse.. im glad i didnt start off with that much power at the rears. i was worried about it boosting around a corner and losing it, as my friend did in his r33.. slid into the gutter and wrote it off. the few times i did get a bit of a slip in the rear, i was able to control it cos of the time spent in the torrie. i lost the rear in the torana a number of times (some not even being stupid!) and it was just an old red six.. would hate to image what i would have gotten myself into with an rb20det! im more for the experience side of this discussion, i feel with experience there not *too* much of a worry with costs of parts and repairs, though insurence is a must incase of soemone else without experience :S shaun.

krush replied to GTS_300_Coupe's topic in General Automotive Discussion

Getting Old (vb) Forum Links To Work
krush replied to lwells's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
such as the FAQs for maintanence issues thanks Lwells for that, i might find what i was after now -
with my first batch of oil, it would heat up in a couple of minutes at idel, but since putting in the motul, it takes like 10mins for the temp guage to start moving.. so i generally let it sit for a minute while i find a good song, maybe call the person im going to go see or whatever, then take it easy (as everyone is saying) until its upto speed.. then ill drive normally.. shaun.

just something to think about, a lot of people end up upgrading their suspension, clutch, and maybe gearbox (depends what you got i guess) over the life of owning their cat anyhow, so maybe upgrading it all just to fit the big engine is more so spending it all at once rather then over a year or so? shaun.

i got a lh torana, which i kept for roughly three and a half years (slowly building it up) and had it until just the start of this year when i imported the r32 gts4. i gave it a hiding, but the thing never 'broke down' so to speak.. it just ran like crap after all the mods and was a real pain in the but to drive all the time. ive since sold it.. *wipes a tear* s.

R32 GTS-T vs GTS-4 comparison articles
krush replied to wantsanr32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hey, just as a little bit of personal expierence, i had a run against a stock'ish gtst, i owning a gts4. i had my mate in the car (we're both about 6'3 and weigh a bit') and the two in the gtst looked rather average size. it was a rolling run from about half way through 2nd, and his car just kept slightly pulling away.. nothing drastic, but i just cant help to think it was just the added weight of the 4wd stuff that held us back.. in the wet though, traction is bless. my mates rb20 powered vl is shocking, where as ive had to nail it to catch up to speed on a merging lane and apart from some initial loss, i pulled hard and barely broke traction in 2nd. id imagine a gtst just sliding side to side as it struggles to remain stuck on the road. shaun. -
hey hey, Gojira, where did you get the spacer for your s14? maybe i could heat the indicater stalk enought to 'bend' it closer well maybe thatd be getting a little far fetched.. Daler, mine also has a sunroof when looking for 32's i only ever sat in non-sunroof ones.. didnt relise how much head room it actually took up! Ronin, thanks for that suggestion. i guess ill hit autobarn first since they sell wheels, after that, ill move onto some other racing shops or something.. thanks for the replies guys! shaun.

regarding the seat position, im 6'3 or so and maybe i have a larger/longer torso then an average 6'3 person has? so yeh, i do have the seat back a fair bit... theres definently no room for people behind me its barable, i have been driving it for six months like this now, just that perhaps a little more 'just in case' room would be ideal. when seated, stretching my arms to the wheel, it touches just under on the base of my first knuckles. now im no homie, but i dont think the japs had 6'3 giants in mind while designing the car thanks anyhows, i didnt end up calling anyone, and now its late after work.. yet again.. shaun.

hey all, im after a spacer for my original steering wheel, 2inch would be good. im just too tall and feel like im stretching to reach the wheel at times (seat back of cos). this is for an r32 gts4 by the way. ive done a search and came up with one good thread, but the guy was in syd/melb and id never heard of the place suggested. just a quick question, its later after work and i havent had a chance to call any shops yet.. thought id see if someone here knew thanks! shaun.

my rb20 has these mods, 3 or 4 inch exhaust (stock dump pipe) straight through cat pod filter 9psi it got 194rwhp, around 145rwkw. the dyno dude said the engine was in pretty good condition and recommended a bleed valve and 14psi.. i declined, wanting an intercooler first.

Skyline GTS4 r32 (owners manual
krush replied to vas_95's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
theres a few threads around here with people looking for manuals, and a few posts with places to get them. i think theres anr32 gtr manual, and theres the engine manuals which cover all engines.. perhaps if you download the two you could pretty much get what youre looking for outta the two.. -
what solex locks could you use for an r32? like, what kind are the (perhaps the item number would be best)?

ill second that dark tints arent good for night time. although i only have the rear quarter windows tinted (as it came from overseas), its something really, really dark and i swear i cant even see in them. then when night time comes, i cant even see out. backing out of a driveway i have to wind the window down and stick my head out to see if theres anything out there.. i could only image the dramas to be had if all the windows were as dark as the quarter ones are. shaun.

where abouts in Loganholme is this 'cactuc jacks' ?

$500 all up, was that a mates rates deal or something? im in need of a new bar, was going to be $800 all up bar/paint/fitting. i really like that front bar of yours also.. may i ask where you got it? also, i dont understand this 'trial' thing, is that to say yours is the only one out there? or is trial a new brand or something crazy.. thanks! s.
-
how about for an r32 gts2 gearbox? ive searched a bit but cant find much on the 4wd gearbox.. cheers, s.

Fitting GTR Front bar and FMIC..
krush replied to Phil Megroin's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
i have a gtr front bar and 600x300x76 cooler, and it fits in there nicely. didnt have to cut the bar at all. bolted the cooler upto the bumper support, and made two thin backets for the bottom to hold it steady and connected to cars chassis for stability. should have plenty of room to play with if you also removes the horns. s. -
I found a good cheap boost controller for $22!!!
krush replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
can this be used on the r32? i cant see down to my turbo (theres a cover there) and havent really seen any other turbo cars.. i read that Jaycar IEBC thread and seen how you need a solenoid inline to the waste gate, im assuming this would go where the soenloid would go? cheers, shaun. -
how good/bad are these copy intercoolers?
krush replied to krush's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hey fellas, good variety of opinions here! i went and bought one of the copies this afternoon, as the general idea sounds anything would be better then the stock and this copy will be just as good as an original if im not going for all out power demands. after i finally get to a stage where ive satisfied with all the mods, i may change it for a more popular brand name and note the power differences for you all going from the copy to decent without changing anything else. but that will likely be in the not so near future (but who knows? maybe ill win the lotto ) cheers! shaun.
