  1. Just saw this today, http://www.sinergymotorsports.com.au/cart/products-page/nissan-skyline-v35/cruise-control-nissan-skyline-v35/ Not sure the source of these kits, they're definitely new to that site though.
  2. I have a v1.5 ELM327 mini, thought i wasted my time when it would not work with torque but after some fiddling found it does work with the "EconTool ELM327 for Nissan" app. Still is really sketchy as a couldn't connect again after trying a different app but I've only messed with it once. "Nissan DataScan II Lite" won't connect for me at all though, just tells me it is unable to connect. Don't know if my series 2 V35 is different with the protocols, i thought i was safe with torque as the 2005 onwards is obdii compliant not the consult.
  3. It's the 80838M (RH) + 80839M (LH) here http://infiniti.sewellparts.com/oem-catalog/800B02-BodySideRear-G35Coupe-2005.html I bought a new right hand one from sewell parts when i bought my car, shipping is a killer though and make sure you buy new plastic screws 80820C x9 i think. I forgot to get the screws but i got them from nissanparts cheap anyway. Not sure if they can get the actual strip. They come painted so you'll need the right coded part which references the colour. e.g. 80838AM93A which is i think brilliant silver and the one i got. I used infiniti parts to check the code as they show colours but they don't seem to have the strips anymore http://www.infinitipartsonline.com/auto-parts/2005/infiniti/g35/base-trim/3-5l-v6-gas-engine/body-cat/gaskets-and-sealing-systems-scat/?part_number=80839ac50a but they do have other parts with the same code. AM91D white?
  4. I don't think i chose a car model, just went with a the Nissan box and made sure the vehicle specific cable was 'NIS2 - Nissan'. Install was fairly easy as i i had taken the dash apart before for a band expander and used the same positap type connector for the wire so it was basically the same, had the zip tie the box and cables together to make sure they wouldn't come out though and then stuff them in the bottom to fit under the stereo. It's really only one plug you put in the stereo then tap into a wire so you'll need to use a multimeter and find a constant wire in the stereo wiring. I'd take it to someone if you don't want to route the mic, usb etc cables around yourself which was a pain. Plus are you going to need to access the box? I use usb extentions and aux routed into my upper glove box which had a convenient hole already made so my box is hidden behind the dash with no way to get to it without pulling it apart. This is the best video i've seen, plus it's the same series as mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhfgwpSiVJI
  5. I bought the USB2P unit as seen here http://www.carputer-shop.co.uk/usb-android-car-kits-c-7/nissan-usb-android-integration-kit-p-45, the main function of this one is usb streaming and android streaming so it best suited my needs and then i ordered the bluetooth extra. You will have to check the BT3 one is compatible and that means the NIS2 (NIS02) cable which comes bundled if you select the right package but you can always buy new cables later if you ever wanted to put it in a different car then just reflash with the right firmware. I bought from this dealer in the UK as i had trouble ordering from the US Grom store but have had no issues with technical help or support as they just direct you to Grom. They said they have a lot of V35's over there when i asked whether it suited our car so they know what suits ours. The important thing is our stereos use the CD changer port not the satellite port like on the Infiniti's so the one you linked might be a bit iffy as it says SAT emulation, should be the same as here though http://www.carputer-shop.co.uk/integrated-bluetooth-kits-c-19/nissan-bluetooth-integration-kit-p-137 and that says CDC so should be good. I'd just throw an email to make sure it's the correct one.
  6. I had heaps of problems with my unit freezing and no longer recognizing buttons properly and no matter how many times i pulled it apart it would happen again after about 20 minutes. After some emailing i got the 28 firmware file from Grom and now it functions perfectly. Not sure if the firmware is now up on the website as it seems like it's down for me but at the time only 27 was available for the Infiniti/Nissan No Text. If people want it i could upload it. All they said for 28 was bug fixes but i had a lot more than just a few bugs. At the time i was also on holiday and had driven over 1000kms with the faulty unit so getting the fix saved me crashing into a tree out of frustration on the way back. Everything works fine for me including usb, bluetooth, hands free (a little quiet), android usb streaming. My config has only: a= 0 (for direct android usb streaming, no app) g= 15 (mic gain at highest) v= 240 (usb audio at lowest to try and fix the huge difference in volume going from usb music to phone call)
  7. Plugs into a spare port in the back of the stereo. Engaging should be fine as it thinks it's an external cd stacker, you press the cd button and it will either cycle through cd/cd changer if you actually have a cd in the stereo or it will go straight to cd changer if there's no cd's inserted. You should be able to cycle past the internal cd stacker
  8. This has heaps of information: http://g35driver.com/forums/interior-exterior/159145-those-you-upgrade-06-tail-lights-3.html
  9. I just got my USB2-Plus unit along with a bluetooth extention and aux/usb charging cable from carputer-shop.co.uk. I installed it in my car last night but still have the dash out to play around with it some more. I have it plugged into my cd changer port at the back of the radio using the nis02 cable and wired to constant. Playing from usb works fine and will be my main use for the unit, i'll need to sort the folders on the usb a bit better as it's a pain to try and skip down the list when you have a few artists/albums in folders using one virtual disc. I'd rather keep the first disc for random music in one directory and use the remaining five discs for artists. Random works well and pressing skip continues to play randomly while still allowing you to press back and go back to the previous song. It will only play one virtual disc randomly whether it's set to all cd random or cd random. I couldn't get folder/track names to work and pressing display did nothing so i tried to update the firmware to the lastest "Nissan / Infiniti 03-10 (with text)" but it wouldn't work at all after that so i had to load up the "Nissan / Infiniti 99-07 (CD, No text)" which got it going again. So i take it the cd changer grom unit on the g35 has no text? In my case mine is the 2005 model stereo. I tried to play with the config file http://www.gromaudio.com/support/usb-config.html, but no luck. Bluetooth works well and drops the music to play a ringtone immediately. Music resumes as soon as you hang up. Streaming from your phone will work straight away and drop whatever is currently playing, no need to change modes. I set usb android streaming to work with any app using the config setting "a= 0" from here http://www.indashpc.org/vbullettin/viewtopic.php?p=5929, so now i don't need to use their AALinQ app. It won't support steering controls or track titles after the change but it will allow you to play youtube etc through the stereo. Still have some tweaking to do and if anyone has insight on track titles that would be great. Also, cycling the repeat button a few times triggers my google now voice calling through bluetooth yet the mic doesn't pick up my voice. Anyone lese experience this?
