  2. It's hip to be square.
  3. Let's try that again (stupid ipad).
  4. Looks tuff, like it's going fast without moving. Black car, dark tint, black rims with polished lip and just the front lip and boot spoiler all works really well together. Nice one! 5. Awesome to see another 1600 saved! Maybe we should start up a Stagea and 1600 owners forum. I think there's a few of us out there.
  6. Did this a few months ago but only just getting around to posting. Is it just me that gets lazy during winter? Started with a cracked radiator which I tried and failed to fix with J-B Weld to try and keep me on the road. Radiator was way past it's used by date so I got a thicker factory replacement. While the coolant was drained I thought I'd have a crack at my own take on the coolant bypass mod. A few joins but no leaks so far after a few months. Summer will be the big test.
  7. Do you mean cabin controlled boost controller? If so I highly recommend the Innovate SCG-1.
  8. Those ramps are awesome!
  9. Full video here: You crazy Kiwis!
  10. Stagea makes it on Fail Army! About 4 minutes in. Do people still not know that Llamas spit? Stop getting in their faces people!
  11. Both belts have manual tensioners that you tighten from underneath. This link has some good pics (same as M35 Stagea). http://forums.nicoclub.com/howto-change-engine-belts-t529305.html Try putting anti-squeal, soap, wax etc. on one to eliminate which belt is squeaking then try 1/4 turn at a time on the tensioner to see if it fixes it.
  12. Did an oil and filter change using an Aeroflow filter so I'll see how that goes. This one: https://www.aeroflowperformance.com/oil-systems-accessories/oil-filters/spin-on/af2296-1010 Also put in a Whiteline diff bush kit (thanks Daleo) and changed the diff oil. Diff bushes came out pretty easy with a hammer, washer and some pipe. Used this setup to try and remove the subframe bush. You can see the juice from the leaky bush. I got it out halfway before snapping the bolt and a length of all-thread. It was in there tight! I'd suggest using a head bolt or something high tensile. I ended up pushing out the rubber centre and then cutting out the shell with a hacksaw. All went back in ok and feels all good on the road.
  13. Should be more like $250 for the Engrish conversion, I still use mine, it reminds me of a Nintendo 64. 20k will get you a lot of Stag. Haven't heard anything about Nagoya Motors but my rule of buying a car is never buy new and never buy from a used car dealer. My advice is research, research, research so you know what you are getting. Give me the 20k and I'll find a nice private sale one for you and keep the change.
  14. Factor in a set of new pads too. Hunt around and you may find a set of second hand front discs, callipers and pads for not much more than a quality set of new front discs. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-skyline-R33-front-calipers-4-pot-with-short-line-brakes-disks-1996-ECR33-/252360844933?hash=item3ac1e0e685:g:-igAAOSwAoRXFf1G Maybe a bit harder in the UK. Good luck.
  15. So next on my to do list was to upgrade the cooling system on my M35. Radiator, coolant bypass mod, water pump, Nismo thermostat and I also got a high pressure Nismo cap which I put on straight away because it looked pretty. Probably not the best idea as after about two days the top tank on my radiator has cracked. Maybe coincidence as it was 13 years old but I don't think so. So when my new radiator with plastic tanks turns up (thanks Scotty), should I ditch the Nismo cap? Anyone been running a Nismo cap on a plastic tanked radiator for any length of time?
  16. Going by the DBA catalogue, fronts are the same as J31 & J32 Maxima/Cefiro and rears are the same as T31 X-Trail. Front and rear are the same as 350Z Touring or V35 Skyline non Brembo. Or better still you could take the opportunity to get new rear discs and them upgrade the front brakes to R33 GTST or R34 GTT discs and callipers.
  17. You would still be dictated by the inner guard.
  18. Lady at servo tonight: "What is your car?" Me: "What does it look like?" Expecting Volvo answer. Lady "I don't know. Commodore?" Me:
  19. I love wagons. I love Datsun 1600s. And I love 4 wheel drive. But I can't work out what to get next!
  20. Just picked up a set of steelies for my Datto and as we are standing under the guys carport talking crap about cars for about 15 minutes looking out at the rain and my Stagea parked out the front, he just goes in a serious voice, "Is that a Volvo?". Priceless!
