Yeah I still got heaps of fuel left as well, and I drive to work every day. You're breaking my balls BP, my balls! Breaking 'em! "There's very little meat in these gym mats!"

Hey Hoo@h, you said you've gone back to E-manage blue after you couldn't get the Ultimate to work. Just out of curiosity is it possible to use the same harnesses for the E-manage blue for the E-manage Ultimate? Or do you need to buy Ultimate specific harnesses? "There's very little meat in these gym mats!"

I was told my E-manage blue was a dud so I sent it back to Japan under warranty and when I got it back, I was told that the software the tuner was using was too old (I actually supplied them with new software and they didn't use it!) and my E-manage needed to be updated with the latest firmware to solve my issues. Cost me $80 to fix something that I could've done myself by updating the latest firmware. All is fine with it now though. Poor value about the E-manage Ultimate hoo@h, I remember reading about your issues with it and I was feeling the same thing after I was told my E-manage was going to be a paperweight. I don't know how they could've set the jumper for V-Tec engines either as to do this, don't you actually have to alter the jumper settings specifically for this purpose? That is, it wouldn't come set up for this from the factory would it? Have you checked the jumper settings yourself after they told you it was stuffed? It's pretty easy to do. I thought the jumper settings would only kill your E-manage if you set them incorrectly and then tried to run the car a few times. But the unit should've sent back some error messages telling them not all was good, and possibly not even started at all? "There's very little meat in these gym mats!"

Hey isn't there a company in Queensland somewhere that does widebody kits for R33 Skylines that looks similar to the Kaikimoto one? I think they cost something massive though, cause you have to send your car to them; they won't supply the kit so you can get it fitted elsewhere. I'm a fan of the 400R kit, looks the goods I reckon. Not too over the top. "There's very little meat in these gym mats!"

Mine usually sits at 14.2v on start up but drops to 13.8v when the car is warmed up. "They taste like burning!"

Imagine driving along at say 100km/h on a highway and hitting a pot hole in the road or something. Then having the plastic rims buckle/shatter/turn to 5hit and there goes your car! Nice one! "They taste like burning!"

I've spoken to someone who's been working at the BP refinery (but not for BP) and although he wasn't able to make any comments he did say that there's something going down. But he didn't think it would take ages to fix, maybe 1 to 2 weeks? "They taste like burning!"

I'm still waiting for any help from someone who knows which is the best setting to have it on! Anyone? "They taste like burning!"

Yeah I used to read HPI before SPEED as well but found it too thin and a little more expensive (by a whole dollar!). I did just buy the recent edition of HPI (comes with a past issue for free) and it's a GTR special, pretty good read. Oh well, I guess it's HPI or nothing for me! "They taste like burning!"

Redline Waterwetter And Fuel Additives
MacGuyver replied to nuffsaid's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I've just put Waterwetter into my radiator, seems to be pretty good so far. Will wait until summer to really test it's effectiveness but I reckon it's the goods. "They taste like burning!" -
So you guys thought that the review they did on the current Honda Integra Type S was a little shonky did you? That it was better than the DC2 Integra? I felt it was a little bit misleading too but don't know everything about the Honda scene so it didn't really shake my faith of the magazine too much. "They taste like burning!"

Good to hear it worked out for you MrBurns. My mirrors recently died as well (neither of them do anything at all!) so thought I might have a similar problem as yours. Just a question about taking the mirror apart though; after you've disconnected it physically from the car door, and you've removed the 3 screws from underneath the mirror where do you go from there? I've also undone the small screw that is located where the mirror is attached to the cable, but still can't get the thing apart! Any ideas? "They taste like burning!"

Hey does anyone on here acually use the boost scramble feature of the AVCR? If so is it any good? "They taste like burning!"

Best Location To Hook Up Boost Guage Hose
MacGuyver replied to Coupe-This's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had this problem a while ago as well. Into this line I had tapped my boost guage as well as the line coming off my boost controller. When I had an adjustable fuel pressure regulator fitted I was told my car was running lean, most likely due to all the things I had tapped into this line. After the pressure was fixed, I noticed the reading on my boost guage was quite unstable when the car came on boost. I've since changed this by tapping the boost guage into the BOV line and it is stable now. Other locations that are good are into the carbon cannister line or into the stock line off the back of the manifold that leads into the factory boost sensor. This line is very thin though! I'm not sure about the 'retail' cf bonnets being no lighter than the stock aluminium item, surely they are lighter if not only by a little. Aren't the carbon fibre bonnets that you buy 'retail' just a layer of carbon fibre glued on to a fibreglass bonnet anyway? My brother had his cf bonnet fly up while driving (he's got 2 heavy catches to keep it in place now!) and the guy he took it to couldn't believe that you could get a sheet of cf that big (bonnet) for about $1000. True cf would be a weight advantage though wouldn't it? I guess if you are looking at a cf bonnet to save weight, there's much cheaper alternatives to spending 1 grand. (good bye interior pannels and rear seats!) "They taste like burning!"

My brother's tint on the drivers side and passenger side windows on his Supra were so dark when he brought the car, he couldn't see out of them at night! So he would drive around with the windows down at night even if it was raining! But he's got it sorted now. "They taste like burning!"

I originally had a 040 in my R33 and couldn't use the last quarter of the tank. I then lowered the pump in the tank (was told this was bad), took it to a workshop and was told that 040's aren't good in Skylines. So now I have a Walbro one instead. I can't say that the Walbro pump is better than the 040, but now I can use the full tank and it doesn't make anymore/less noise than the 040 did. Could you get the 040 to use the full tank if you could attach a sock on the end like the stock one? I know that the 040 doesn't have any place to attach one, and that the filter is built in to the pump, but could the sock solve this? My brother has a 044 modified to work in tank and this was achieved by fitting a sock to the end. So if you can modify the 044 with a sock, how about the 040? "They taste like burning!"

Hey has anyone else here played Quake 4 yet? It's pretty sweet, there's one scene about half way into the game that makes you go OMG! I won't spoil it for anyone, but when you get there you'll know what I'm talking about! Even though Quake 4 runs on the Doom 3 engine, I kinda think Doom 3 is slightly better cause I was a fan of the whole 'horror angle' that it went for. Plus I'm a HUGE Doom fan! Quake 4 is more action oriented. "Mmm, unexplained bacon."

I reckon he should change his name to Scott Nevill. Because he'scott no friends and never will. "But my mum says I'm cool."

The Distinct Skyline Smell-r33
MacGuyver replied to siddr20's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I've had my car for 3 years now, have used Armourall religiously and also have had several of those 'plug in deodourants' and yet still have that Skyline smell. I've taken mates for rides who haven't been in my car for ages say to me "how do you keep that new car smell?" I reckon it's some Japanese deodourant that they use to remove cigarette smells; I recently found out that the previous owner smoked quite a bit in my car and when I brought it I had no idea. Those are some awesome machines, good to see some of those cars actually get given a bit of stick instead of sitting in a show room! "They taste like burning!"

R33,anybody,any Opinion,i Appreciate It!
MacGuyver replied to vcool's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Why is it that when ever you get hit by someone who's 100% at fault they always have some (dodgy) 'mate' who's good at smash repairs? I've heard this kind of story many times before. I could even say that my Dad is good at smash repairs; he fixed my old Corolla when it rolled down my drive way and into a tree (very lucky the tree was there!) And he did a really good job of it too! Wish I had a mate in 'professional' smash repairs! "They taste like burning!" -
Yeah the reason I liked it was for the maturity, also they were just starting to feature some write ups on some really awesome 'classics' like a Ford RS200 and a Renault R5 Turbo. I know these cars aren't Japanese heroes, but being a bit of a rally fan I really enjoyed reading about just how dangerous these cars could/still can be! Sometimes I did get the impression that they thought they were the goods (especially when they would road test a car on a stretch of road) but they were very informative and easy to read. I've had a look at that 2DMaxx mag and it looked like it was full of done up Excels, and cars like Skylines that were in there were either too ricey/blinged up or not to my modification tastes. Not even a patch on SPEED, but are they fairly new (still working out the bugs) or have they been around for a while? So really all I have now is Autosalon, which I read anyway. But I don't read it as religiously as I did SPEED, and now with the new editor I find that some of their stories have waaaaay too much writing. 6 full pages on a feature issue is too much I reckon! NOOOOO! (In case you couldn't tell, I acually liked this magazine!) Well at least I wasn't subscribed to it, and ACP didn't send me copies of something like Cleo to make up for the rest of my subscription. Just like the last time one of my subscriptions ran out. What happened, they went bankrupt or something? "They taste like burning!"

Hey is it just me or has Speed Magazine disappeared from the face of the Earth? I haven't been able to find it for like over 2 months now, and I've looked in several news agencies that used to stock it. What gives? "They taste like burning!."
