  1. I've had the guage go down past the 'E', then float back up to full again, and then back down again.... but it would have been caused by installing a new fuel pump myself and knocking the sensor off. It's always fun to never quite know how much fuel you have! "The internet? They have that on computers now?"
  2. Yeah I asked Bosch about the need for a sock on the bottom and they said it didn't need one. Stainless steel hose clamps are the go in my opinion. I bent the cradle out flat as well, then used the rubber base that the old pump was sitting on as a sort of 'cushion' to stop the 040 from making noise. Works really well, no noise at all until the car is almost out of fuel. "The internet? They have that on computers now?"
  3. Anyone seen the price Nengun's selling the HKS 2835 Pro S for at the moment? $2521.79 delivered (to my joint anyway) That's pretty cheap! (from $3400 or so that they were selling them before) That's-a-spicy meatball! "The internet? Is that thing still around?"
  4. My brother has a TRD 3000 style cf bonnet on his Supra and got rain in his pod filter! (he has a pretty huuuuge Trust one) Car didn't like that too much. But the bonnet came with pannels that you could clip under the vents to block them up for such occasions. "The internet? Is that thing still around?"
  5. I had a set of those on my car for about 3 years and never had any problems with them. Good grip on dry roads, decent grip on wet roads. Had a few hairy moments with 'moderate' take offs at traffic lights in the wet and also with a car load of people though! But definetely good for that price. "The internet? Is that thing still around?"
  6. Getting that 'jar lid' off is the hardest bit! I put a Bosch 040 in a few weekends ago and it doesn't make a sound at all.
  7. I've been using BP Ultimate for about 3 years now, no problems! But according to a test done in Autosalon magazine about 2 months ago Shell Optimax had a slightly higher octane reading (98.6) compared with BP, Mobil and Caltex (98.5). They claimed that their tests were done by an independent laboratory. "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  8. So if I were to get the Nismo injectors (was leaning towards these anyway) are they a straight fit into the stock fuel rail? I've had a brief look around for an aftermarket fuel rail (HKS, Sard, GReddy) and there doesn't seem to be one for an RB25DET. Also would it be essential/recommended to uprgade the AFM with the injectors? Just trying to see how much I need to buy before I get the Emanage installed so I can do it all in one hit. I've already done the fuel pump and a Nismo fuel pressure regulator is on the way. "Five days on an all sprout diet with a wall papering video and a crochet magazine and we've all turned into crazies!"
  9. Hey I'm in the process of looking at getting some bigger injectors to get fitted along with an Emanage and was wondering which ones are the best to use? Sard make 550cc injectors, Nismo and HKS make 555cc injectors. 555cc is right on the limit of the 150% increase over the stock 370cc injectors that the Emanage/rb engine can handle so would they still be OK? By the way my engine is an RB25DET and it's also an auto.
  10. So the Bosch 040 doesn't need a sock on it at all then? I installed one myself internally on the weekend. I saw that it had mesh on the bottom so didn't think it would need a sock. It's been working fine, no noise or problems up until this morning when I was driving to work and noticed that my car would sometimes make a 'reverberating' sound when it would come on boost. (sounded pretty cool actually, kind of like a WRX!) This may be cause I haven't tightened up all of the hoses properly.... or the ball point pen that we stuffed into one of the hoses (to stop petrol gushing everywhere) didn't all come out. It snapped off inside the line and then the remaining shards dissolved into a glue like substance. I was sure I got it all out tho! "Five days on an all sprout diet with a wall papering video and a crochet magazine and we've all turned into crazies!"
  11. I've got a Greddy type B / R-SPL HG that I think is pretty awesome. Was quoted about 200 simoleans to get it fitted by a workshop but did it myself. No dramas! "If he's so smart, how come he's dead?"
  12. The part number for the 040 is 0580254040. I've just got one of these for my R33 GTST and am about to try putting one in. Go the backyard workshop!
  13. Giddey up for Tekken Tag! Even tho that game is ancient now, I can still remember many an epic battle with that game. Tekken 5 is looking really good, a real return to form. Plus it comes with arcade perfect versions of Tekkens 1, 2 and 3! Is Street Racing Syndicate good is it? I've seen it in the shops but haven't heard much about it. "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  14. I thought Metal Gear Solid 3 rocked! FF-X is definetely more challenging than FF-X2 in my opinion. What about Timesplitters 2 as a good FPS? I know the single player is kinda lame but the multiplayer is good value! I've spent soooo many hours on that game in 4 players (yes I did actually buy a PS2 multi tap!) and making your own levels is just the icing on the cake. I'm personally a fan of the Silent Hill series as well. "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  15. Auto Salon frequently, SPEED and Hyper always! BLAU! "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  16. Yeah the way they've handled all the vinyl and decal placement/sizing is really cool; you should be able to stick decals where you want to, not just where the game lets you. (NFSU I'm looking in your direction!) I thought it tries to be a little like Project Gotham 2 in the car selection list? And you're right about it trying to copy GT4 level wise, I also think it tries to copy the feel of NFSU on some of the 'street racing' levels. It's definetely a better racing game than GT4 though. And because you can put your own tunes in the game that certainly makes it easier on the ears. (I still break out in a cold sweat just thinking about GT3's music!) Now if we could just combine the best bits of GT4 and Forza, we would truly have a massive game on our hands! "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  17. Hey anyone else got this yet? It's pretty good, has real body kits and stuff and you can't enter a maxed out car against wussy AI cars as an easy way of winning races in the championship mode (like GT4). Has damage as well.. but you've gotta pay to get your car fixed. And as far as I can tell the damage doesn't really affect the drivability of your car. (maybe I've gotta smash them up more!) Not sure if I like it better than GT4 tho. It is a better 'racing game' than GT4, i.e. the AI drivers don't just stick to a predetermined path, they actually try to avoid you. Don't think it looks better than GT4 either. And the menu music is already pissing me off! "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  18. Yeah I'm keen on an 040 as well if there's any left. Looking to get one pretty soon if possible. "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  19. I got the widebody kits on stage 5 but can't remember how (was ages ago). The new kits look pretty bad. Well most of the new kits look bad! The Supra is cool but it's not a turbo to begin with, that's why you get it so early. I actually finished the game without realising the R34 GTR was available to buy! I must have not read the notice or something! "Oh no, it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  20. I've been looking for a car specific harness to allow the emanage to plug straight in without splicing any wires but can only find them for GTR's. How much was the harness that Autobarn were selling rd-runr? And was it for an R33 GTR or GTST? "Oh no it's the cops!" "Worse, the police cops!"
  21. No I wasn't a graphics student, just did them on the paint program that comes with Windows. Took forever just to get it to look perfect tho. I never heard about the double fine thing but I wouldn't be surprised about it. "Good heavens she's turned into some sort of female madman!"
  22. Ha ha I used to make my own parking tickets while I was at Central Tafe on my computer and they never got me for it! Saved me lots of money on parking! But if you get caught you get fined for a) not having a ticket and B) displaying an altered ticket. Will cost you somewhere to the tune of $180 I think... Good heavens she's turned into some sort of female madman!"
  23. It's a very 'slow cooking game' i.e. the game starts off very slow and you have to really stick with the game right till about two thirds of the way in before the action heats up and the better cars are available. Then it's like the game can't give you everything fast enough! "Good heavens she's turned into some kind of female madman!"
  24. Giddey up on the stealth wing, I'm interested. I'm from Perth by the way.
  25. Yeah I've got an aftermarket steering wheel. It'll be the sensor not lined up correctly then.
