  1. i think they do however i'm fairly sure mine has been tucked and my car isnt crazy low either, i've never had any issues with my electrics but as soon as i turned the car on with the new alternator everything stopped working
  2. oh right, i'm fairly sure the rb25 alternators run more current than the rb20 ones but does anyone know how much each run?
  3. Sorry for the dumb question but what's a fusible link? Don't know much when it comes to electrics
  4. so recently my r32 was dying due to the alternator not charging the battery, i took it out and replaced it with an rb25 alternator as i found they bolt right in and can be used on the rb20, went to reconnect my battery and got a couple sparks while doing so even though i made sure no electrics were on, however connected it up and car started up first go no worries. The problem is my electrics now dont work, no interior lights, no radio, no dash lights, no windows/mirrors. the parkers and headlights/tail lights still work and all mechanical components work normally, any ideas what this could be?
  5. It's not so much the power I'm after just don't want a turbo that will blow up with more boost in it, the r33 turbos are limited by their ceramic turbine wheels and the r34 turbos by their nylon compressor wheel
  6. Both are 76 trim, same size turbine wheel and the copy has a .64 AR
  7. If I'm only using it for a housing there shouldn't be much of a problem should there?, buy gt28xx turbo, take of housing, put on new housing
  8. My turbo is an rb25 one so getting it highflowed would result in a fair bit of unwanted lag
  9. apparently bearings are gone, worth getting and rebuilding with garrett core or just stick to something genuine?
  10. so a 2871 copy turbo which in need of a rebuild has come up on fb for $50, even has the rb 6 bolt housing
  11. I made a thread about turbo selection before and came to the conclusion of a kinugawa td05, should see nice response along with decent overall power and they're relatively cheap and decent quality, however its nice to see a couple more options out there on a budget
  12. sounds like two good options! i wish my car came with the stock turbo instead of the rb25 turbo so i would have a better basis for comparison though
  13. i think thats why roy suggested using the housing off a hks 25 turbo with a garrett gt28 series turbo as they mainly come with housings to suit the sr20 and buying one to suit an rb is like an extra 500
  14. So a hks 25xx turbine housing will bolt straight onto a Garrett gt28xx turbo? Is it just a case of taking off one housing to fit another or is anything else required?
  15. Sounds fairly responsive though, I'd imagine an r33 25 highflow with tuning and e85 should get around the same response you're getting with the 20 highflow so I might opt for that as the 20 highflows are quite rare second-hand
  16. I just said that lol, I'm wondering what the lag on the 20 highflow is like, if anyone has a 25 highflow on their 20 would be a great help if you could let me know what its like as well
  17. Yeah I'm fairly sure the rb20 is slightly smaller than the 25, I know the 25 neo ones are bigger still, what's your lag like missileman?
  18. Do you have an rb20 highflow or rb25 highflow on yours?
  19. Not sure what you're on about missileman?
  20. That's exactly the reason I want to go e85, midrange, I mostly drive around in the midrange so if I can get a significant power boost there it will make for a better driving car
  21. I've heard stories of the e85 gradually breaking down the stock rubber hoses leading to gunky buildup in the injectors/fuel filter, and as in your case people have left them untouched and it's been fine, honestly if it's a cheap and simple thing to do I don't see a reason not to
  22. In addition if I were to get a upgraded turbo I'd need injectors and a nistune anyway so the only extra expense I'm seeing at this stage is fuel lines, rb25 highflows are quite cheap second-hand and plenty of them around however most say they are too laggy for an rb20
  23. I'm not going to be pushing the turbo past 14psi and I am most probably going to get a turbo upgrade in the future and wind the boost up then, I'd rather get the fuel system sorted first that's all
  24. i've also heard mixed opinions on the matter, what did you use and how much was it if i may ask?
  25. also another question which has been on my mind and getting mixed results on, will i need to upgrade from standard fuel lines?
