  1. Yeah.... It seems to me that EVO's appeal to a much wider circle of people, while STi's are pretty much loved by WRX fans.
  2. I think the most encouraging aspect of the story is that Costa is stepping forward and asking for motorists opinion. The idea to make penalties harsher for right lane hoggers is commendable. I also think they should do the same for tailgaters. The way i see it at the moment tailgating is very hard to police. If there are easily quantifiable rules as to when one is tailgating then both the driver and the cop will have an idea. For example: "You have been driving less than 2 cars lengths behind that car for more than 3 seconds. Have this fine and have a nice day."
  3. That's right, i remember heaing about hte Maltese spec. According to a guy at work, who is neighbour to Subaru CEO, Subaru did everything they could to stll Mitsubishi from bringing the EVO's in. Worked with 8, but 9 is going to be full volume. About time STi got thrown from the turbo pedestall in Australia.
  4. For some reason I thought these babies were in Aus for a while. Only when I saw 2 within the last week I relaised that I haven't seen them before. Now that just makes a whole load of sense Anyway, I saw a silver one in Castle Hill and a blue one in Dural. I must say they look quite mean, definately different from your run of the mill lancer. The front grill really shows off that itercooler, once you see the wing and wheels you defintely know its an EVO. The thread kinda belongs in the NSW section, but I thought i post it here to involve members from other states in the discussion.
  5. Spotted POS-25T yesterday and last week. He waived He's not shy anymore. I was in the blue gtst. Also spotted black 32 on boundary rd and white 34 (with those new 3-pair number plates) on boundary rd.
  6. Has anyone from NS.com or LS1 seen this hero lately? He must be creating quite a stir.
  7. I remember a thread like this ages ago on MRT forums. There was a dude that tried to prove all the WRX boys that V8's are better in all aspects than the rexes. Twas a good read.
  8. Be nice boys. Both cars are good for the purpose they serve and the price. Besides it's OT.
  9. The damage is really amazing. Looks like someone drove a tank into the joint.
  10. I'd be buying a lottery ticket and considering myself very lucky, dude. With all the stuff under your bonnet you got away with shit all.
  11. ^ | | :( Not to be offending towards Honda enthusiats, but that's hillarious. I m sure there would be a few of similar ones about skylines on ozhondas.
  12. How about this sticker: Want to drag me? Call xxxx-xxxx Western Sydney Interantional Dragway You can even get WSID to make these stickers
  13. I have an idea for some new smilies - the Team America smilies. Here we go. :mattdamon: A smiley with blonde hair throwing hands in the air with the text "MATT DAMON!!!" flashing underneath. :wmd: A Saddam looking smiley with two shiny briefcases which blow up. :herro: A telly screen with dictator Kim forgot his name looking smiley turning on and off. :ronery: Dictator Kim forgot his name looking smiley looking around with sad face and a few smilies stand aaround with their backs to him. Thats all i can think of at the moment. What do you reckon?
  14. I m planning on signing up to the Daily Telegraph website, getting all the articles that clearly target skylines and sending a printed letter quoting all the articles to the Daily Telegraph editor, Piers Ackerman (as much as a opinionated pain he is, he's got a good BS meter), Sydney Morning Herald editor and my local MP. Hopefully the cc list will get at least one of them off their asses. Merli, i m with you man. I have grown up in Ukraine (read former USSR) and you are right, you don't want this kind of policing here. The traffic cops are the worst ones, you are guaranteed to get fined if the cop wants it. And there is no corruption watchdog that can help you either. On the other hand hard line policing is waranted given how bad the crime is over there. In the end it comes down to you never guess.... insurance. And also how much we don't take responsibilty for our actions. If the insurance wasn't such a big factor then we would see private and public car playgrounds appear. The kind that you can go in and do burnouts, have a drag run, hang out with your mates. Different from track days, which have to be planned weeks in advance and can't really do every day. But, the public liability just had to be invented. It is such a pain, i really despise it. It is the reason why EVERYTHING is twice as expensive. I say ban public liability and tort litigation. Ok, im done here.
  15. For all the people that say to use the syncros - double clutching is not all about sticking the gear in. Neither it is for protecting the gearbox (well maybe a bit). When you double clutch and downshift before a corner the moment you let go of the clutch there is no jerk, everything happens smoothly. This aids stability before the corner and i found that it helps to keep the turbo spooled up.
  16. Didn't you know that skylines are double-yu-em-dees. If you see one speeding then the consequences are going to be like 911 times 132,673.
  17. And it wasn't even a GTR.
  18. Spotted an R32 gtst JNR-032 and VL---- cruising together at Manly. Spotted a black 32 on Old Northern Rd going towards castle hill as I was turning onto Gilbert Rd. I think ther were three guys in that car and they saw me first, beeped and waived. I only had time for a nod. That was on Friday...
  19. Stupid wankers. How affordable is WSID? Do they have to do it on the streets? Of course it will. They will love it! I can just see the headline in Daily Telegraph: Dozens of Daily Telegraph media crew violently beaten as illegal street racers clash Special report: OUT of the six Daily Telegraph crew on location in South Strathfield two were given blows to the face. The rest of the team had to undergo therapy for their emotional stress. This comes as a last drop in Daily Telegraph Cam'P'ain against P platers. As of today the following are the changes that Daily Telegraph sees to be appropriate to keep the road toll under control: - No vehicles more powerful than 50 kW/tonne to be driven by persons under 40 years of age. - Curfew for drivers under 30 in effect from 9 pm to 7 am - Any people talking to each other next to their cars parked are to be deemed ass street racers and to be taken to custody. Vehicles are to be confiscated. - If one is caught speeding more than 1 km/hr over the limit his or her license is to be cancelled for a period 3 years.
  20. No wonder the fight broke out. The fight began as the crowd turned on media crews, including The Daily Telegraph and a Channel 9 news crew, who had arrived to cover the accident.
  21. I believe ModYourCar.com are affiliated with this site and SAU as such. They even have a trader section on these forums. I cant remember personally a thread about electric fans but i know that SydneyKid has been using them. Just hang around for a couple of days you ll get an answer.
  22. I can see all the VIC boys rushing in and adding officer Pettittte. I have seen about 10 different spelings of his name, so I am not even going to bother to get it right
