  1. Thanks Cadmoon, that one looks like a cracker! I'll add it (with a finishing touch from Mount Mee into Dayboro - been on that drive before, it's pretty nice) The Gap - Mount Nebo - Mount Glorious - Kilcoy - Woodford - Mount Mee - Dayboro Submitted by 'Cadmoon' Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious, out to Kilcoy then back via Woodford and Mt Mee...
  2. Thanks Pete, I'll add it Mount Lindesay Highway, Rathdowney - Lindesay Creek Submitted by 'sneakey pete' The ultimate cruising road would have to be the Mt Lindesay Highway through the Bellbird Ranges, between Rathdowney and the Kyogle turnoff (following road to Kyogle isn't bad either). A lot of people take the Lions Road instead, but honestly I think the main road is better.
  3. Haha, yeh definitely. Wouldn't go out of my way to sight this one, just an alternative to boring ol' Youngs Crossing! Thought it might be a good idea to start sharing these by starting with a nice little one to gauge interest. Be good to eventually pull a map together of good drives that we can link up. My brothers and father are really into bikes. They have an awesome layout they go cruising on throughout the Sunshine Coast hinterland. I'll try to map it out sometime. It's at least a 90min loop.

  5. On my way to work this morning I got hit with some school traffic and decided to find an alternate route, and I found a cracker of a road (even if it is only a short one). The road was a bit wet this morning from some light showers overnight, and with some multiple surfaces it creates some unexpected surprises. Please note that this review is taken within legal road limits. I do not encourage 'hooning' or performing illegal acts on public roads. Please respect the road rules at all times and take note of advised speeds (marked in yellow) before making your own judgement. Protheroe Rd - Forgan Rd, Cashmere (Speed Limit: 80kph) When heading from Protheroe Road, the first left hander (40kph) is slightly banked and has an open rough asphalt surface. The apex of the corner doesn't have much grip when wet, so be careful not to hit it too quickly. As the road opens you get a nice high speed winding section up to the top of the hill before a set of blind esses (50kph) dropping down a 16% grade. The esses tighten and open up again, but be careful not to tackle too quickly as there is a solid concrete gutter on the outside that's going to make a mess of your rims if you come over the crest with too much speed. As you arrive at the end of the road keep to the inside line - the road narrows over a blind crest with loose gravel on the side of the road. If you have any good cruise roads please share them. I'll endeavour to keep updating this first post with your favourite roads to make it easy for everyone to find them.
  6. Not doubting you, but everywhere I've looked they've been more around the 215-220kw+ mark. I'll have to do some more digging on that!
  7. Tony, can you provide documentation on this? Does it stretch to Learners as well? Everywhere I've looked says they're QLD banned.
  8. Very reluctant to trust the information given by an ad. People will say all kinds of crap to sell their car. 2004 model falls 3 years short of the anniversary year. 50th Anniversary is for the Skyline - first one built in 1957. 70th Anniversary would be of Nissan (I can only assume), founded in 1933. 2003 marking their 70th year.
  9. Suncorp are easy enough with imports. They're also generally very generous with market value of the car. My '07 350GT SP is $82/mth with $400 excess. Also got a '94 Lexus SC300 which is only $69/mth. Unlike most insurers, Suncorp don't take into account where you park your car. They consider garage, carport, driveway all to be the same, as long as it's on your property. RACQ used to charge me $13/mth more for my wifes car because it was parked in a carport, not a garage. And if you have multiple policies with them they give you 10-15% discount on premium.
  10. Yes. I'm talking about the V36. The 50th Anniversary models of the 350GT all have red leather seats with embroidery signifying the occasion. They were only built between 11/07 and 03/08. I wasn't aware the V35 came out as a 50th Anniversary... surely they would have stopped production by this point?
  11. Hey all, I just bought a 2007 350GT SP 50th Anniversary edition, and I'm finding it rather difficult to dig up any information on them other than a few Japanese fan websites, and some old blog posts from Nissan that have now been archived: http://web.archive.org/web/20081207232609/http://blog.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/archives/2007/11/50th_limited.html http://web.archive.org/web/20081202075633/http://blog.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/archives/2007/02/superblack.html I don't recall much of my 4th grade Japanese lessons, and Google Translate makes a mess of Asian languages (at best). From the second link, I'm assuming that it suggests the 50th Anniversary models were by order only, and the tables are the breakdown of what was ordered from the 10,000 as of 16 February 2007. Does anyone know when Nissan stopped taking orders, and the final number built? I've only ever seen 3 for sale in Australia, and I have my suspicions one (currently for sale in SA) is fake. From my findings, and talking to my importer/dealers/RAWS, the 50th Anniversary models all came with the parking cameras mounted in the front bumper, not the door mirrors - which this one doesn't. But this is about all I know of them other than the red leather seats, brushed aluminium dash trim, and serial number engraved windscreen. Does anybody have any more information on them, or know someone I could ask?
