SydneyKid, your right about the costs of buying a new turbo and it kinda makes me think twice about the whole thing... But a replacement turbo is what i need so finding out which one to get its the toughest assignment at the moment. Sure the HKS turbos do catch my attention probably due to the fact that so many people have tried them with possitive results. Im also drawn toward the hi flowed ball bearing upgraded stock turbo as well because as its a more cost effective solution. SydneyKid, who rebuilt your turbo? Is the company called GCG? if so where are they located? 12.4 et is a great time, its around what ill be aiming for.

i cannot handle driving a car which has poor low end but massive top end power. Id want a smoother yet steep-ish power curve over an all or nothing curve which lager turbo's tend to deliver.
-
sure does bbenny, thats exactly what kinda info i wanted to hear. I kinda had my mind set on the HKS 25XX after checking out different websites. Key features for me would be an all round turbo with good response and acceptional mid and high end power.

Damn... more money to spend... i just got my dump pipe installed which cost me $320. How good are the GT 2535's in comparison to the other equivalent turbos on the market which arent bolt ons? Is it worth getting a non bolt on turbo and modding the oil and water lines + a new dump pipe? Are their many more benefits from a non bolt on turbo as apposed to the turbos that are avail for RB25DET that require mods to the lines and exhaust?
-
does anyone know where i can find technical specs on different turbos? ill be really interested in reading anything that explains the characteristics of the different turbos on offer. I realise that the characteristics depend on the engine type, but im sure there are some data sheets or something that explains how efficient the turbo is? ive been browsing around and found some interesting facts on the garrett site http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...Leaflets3_2.jpg http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...Leaflets3_1.jpg another thing ive notices is that many performance workshops recommend the GT 2535 or the GT 2540

Hi All, Im at the stage where i have run out of things to spend my money on... well not quite. Im looking at replacing my standard turbo on my R33 GTS-T and was hoping to pick the brains of some of you more experienced buffs. I might start off by telling you what parts ive already purchased BUT have not yet installed. 6 x 550cc SARD injectors Nismo fuel pump TSI ECU (see www.unigroup.com.au and click on the TSI button for details) Heavy Duty brass button clutch. Current mods: full exhaust system cold air induction Intercooler (300x600x40) Objective: kick ass performance when kicked in the guts nice drivability (similar to stock turbo at low revs) decent fuel efficiency. I wanna buy a turbo which is more efficient than the stock turbo and which is more durable. I understand that the stock turbo uses a ceramic shaft and blades?? i want the turbo to handle upto 15psi all day everyday. I will be installing a 2 stage boost controller which will be intergrated into the ECU. settings will be somthing like... stage 1= 12psi stage 2= 15psi. Also i may note that i wanna leave the engine internals stock so i will only be limited to around 15psi on short bursts. ie track for 0-400m runs. I will be cruising around on 12psi every day. SO... what do you guys recommend Cheers borry :burnout:

good thinking, thanks. Ill check out their wire diagams
-
really? can you by any chance tell me which wire you spliced?
-
kuro, i think the wire that you may be talking about is "wire 53" which is the speed cut/HICAS diagnostics wire. This doesnt send the pulse to the speedo to give it a speed reading. looking at the ECU diagram it doesnt reffer to any speedo wire, just a speed cut out wire which makes think that the wire is attached to the gearbox? if its is, i wanna know how to access it from inside the cabin and what wire is the "signal"wire or (+)
-
OR does the speedo read a signal from the gearbox? is it a mechanical system or does it have a wire that i can splice and attach my satellite nav system to? if its done by wire, where can i access this wire and what colour is it? Thanks
-
ya tellin me!? thats why i couldnt be stuffed looking for it

Hi All, im trying to find the electronic speedo cable as im installing Satellite nav in my car. I done a search but only came up with the speed cutout cable... does anyone know which wire is hooked up to the speedo? Thanks borry

Triple M, 2Day FM), subwoofer fader, subwoofer cross-over 60 80 and 100hz thru deck, 2 colours (amber + green), 3 RCA outputs, and all the other usual functions found in a comp deck. The stacker has digital (optical output). Reason for sale? upgrading to TV screen system. this is a top quality deck in anyones standards

Im in the market of purchasing an Apexi Power FC.... now im a little confused because i found that there are 2 versions that are avail. Power FC and Power FC Pro...... I know that if you purchase the pro version u get the boost solenoid kit with it. But my question is... is that all the difference between the two? are the ECU's identical in specs? ie. can i buy a "standard" PFC and later on attach the boost solenoid kit to it? or does the Pro version have different software and hardware built in to the standard PFC? Cheers!

I guess the only way i can find out is if i can find someone who is willing enough to fit one on the front and one on the back and see how she sits? Yr right in saying they are damn sexy benm... Still, 2700 for some genuine GTR wheels is pretty good i reckon? Has anyone purchased anything from Nengun?
