  1. In please Raj! This isn't "infamous" due to being a potholed dirt road breaking GTR's I was reading about that one time?
  2. Count me in please Ciaron! I PM'd the membership form to Shell on Saturday as well as paid, so it should be processed in time.
  3. MrStabby just posted this video in a different post and thought it was very relevant to this thread. (Can't seem to embed it) http://youtu.be/Qirx_G4x5i0
  4. Being on the other end of this, needing to put on weight, to me this theory is about volume, I can't eat enough in a single (x3) sitting to gain weight, however if I was to eat 6 meals of 3/4 size I'd be able to eat 50% more, hence more calories. These 2 points are in contradiction, the first splitting the same amount of calories over higher frequency for weight loss versus a baby eating every 2-3 hours is about getting more calories and nutrients to be able to grow, this also increases argument for cutting dairy to lose weight. i.e. milk is for babies (just ask Schwarzenegger). But still very good points. I've always believed that eating more frequently increased metabolic rate which accounts for some 70% of calories burnt for a typical person.
  5. Love the attention to detail on this build! Very inspiring! Interested to know how the coating holds up after use, looks mint!
  6. I know this is a Cosmetic threat, but the mention of cooling down the turbo triggered the memory of a tech article I read once on the benefits of reducing the amount of heat lost by using wraps and blankets and such. Interesting read: (ignore the product placement, the theory is transferable) http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ID/3631/PageID/8208/Nerd-O-Scope-Keeping-The-Energy-In-Turbos-Using-PTP-Turbo-Blankets.aspx Essentially turbine heat (of the exhaust gas) equals more power, and letting that escape ain't so good. Cosmetically, I don't mind the look of these in the front near the airbox, but to me looks kinda weird up the back near the turbo.
  7. I could be wrong, but I'm sure I've seen quick release hubs that come with a cover that requires a key to remove? To avoid that savvy thief who brings his own. And yes quick release is additional to the boss kit. And for swag I'd totally get a nice briefcase to keep the steering wheel in when you remove it
  8. White R34 GT-T in North Sydney yesterday arvo. & Grey R32 at Bunnings in Rockdale this morning.
  9. I've had a wooden steering wheel on a previous car and really liked the firm feel of it, the steel centre was a bitch in the sun though. On the other hand I bought a cheap momo replica for a different car and it had too much flex in it so it was pretty shitty to drive with. Boss kits are unique to the car (at the car end, i.e. different pitch in the shaft thread) however are universal on the steering wheel end).
  10. Black R33 with gold wheels and plates on Hunter St in Wynyard this morning,
  11. I think Mick is referring to the shocks internals not the fixing points to the car, having had a completely dead shock in a previous car I would have to agree, but it was only on bumps, i.e. activating the shocks. on smooth roads it was fine.
  12. "...in February 1993 the GT-R V-spec (for Victory) emerged wearing 17" BBS mesh wheels(225/50/17) covering larger Brembo brakes. The clutch actuation changed from a push to a pull system, the car had the standard rear differential, the electronic rear differential did not show up until the R33 Vspec. A year later the V-Spec II appeared with a new sticker and wider tires (245/45 17)..." Wiki is king.
  13. Pretty sure I wouldn't trust a dealer to have spent a dollar more than he had to on a car in inventory... My GTS-T shifts beautifully, I've always had shitty old second hand cars though, and like 8 years driving various manuals before the Skyline. So it could be oil, it could be linkage, it could be relativity, or it could be skillz... hopefully it's not too expensive to figure out.
  14. Is this members only? I'm definitely keen to come! (and to become a member as well, so I'll get on to that anyway)
  15. If only his flux capacitor was working
  16. It took me a second.. but I see what you did there.. hehe
  17. Hahaha I know right? at least we had good eye candy... speaking of which... this thread used to be about awesome pics...
  18. Let's not get started on the legitimacy or logic of road rules... For all we know he was just keeping left like he's suppose to, and the guy in the right lane was slowing down due to a slight bend coming up relativity's a bitch in these situations.
  19. I probably should have said that, I thought the three of them were friends the way they were continuously overtaking each other. But I hate above all else when people living in glass houses throw stones.
  20. Because he wouldn't let him merge in.
  21. It's also dangerous and stupid to take people's account of things as truth.
  22. ^^^ This is what I saw... While the showboating by the 2 skylines wasn't excessive what really annoyed me (being stuck behind them) was they'd showboat on the overtaking lanes, driving like the type of dick's they're complaining about, but then when it came to a slight bend (remember this is in the first half) it was all brake lights to well below speed limit... I'm talking bends with no recommended speed reduction signs... After that I was reallyglad to be in the first group that left the truck stop, these guys knew how to drive! Overall a fantastic cruise.
  23. Awesome photos! I saw you on the side of the road as we left the Truck Stop and super stoked you got a nice shot of my car despite it's deformities!
  24. Same here... Started storming as soon as I got home though, but only for 5 minutes. Really fun day and perfect introduction into the SAU Sydney scene... definitely what I needed to appreciate my Skyline and hang onto it! Thanks for organising!
  25. I'd totally carry $10k cash to a random persons house...
