  5. Under historic rego, it actually used to allow some modifications such as wheels, interior changes, suspension changes, if they fitted the era, but then SMASA members and a few others f***ed it up for everyone by registering dodge chargers with 424 fuel injected big blocks under historic rego rules, claiming "the exterior does not comprimise the historic appearance of the vehicle". The registrar of motor vehicles didnt like this and changed the rules to be 100% factory only, or original factory options only. So a few screwed it up for all
  6. The registration you are referring to is Historic Registration. To qualify for historic registration the vehicle must be in the same configuration it left the factory OR only with optional extras at the time. In other words, if you want to modify it, you WONT qualify for historic rego. IF your car is 100% stock, the registration is approximately $70 per year, Plus any associated club fees. You must be a full financial member of a club that is authorised for historic rego, and can verify the historic status of the vehicle - for example, the Falcon GT Club of SA is able to have all models of Falcon GT and historic Falcons/Fairmonts under their club. Under historic rego it is a logbook system, that is, you MUST compete the log book for the expected journey before leaving your driveway, as if you dont fill it out BEFORE leaving your house, your car is UNREGISTERED and UN INSURED. So its not as easy as cheap rego, as with club fees will often come in at around $120-150 per year, BUT its good alternative for a truely historic car (>30 years old, ie. pre 1978)
  7. Bit of old school The site grandjdm.com doesnt exist any more so can't get the hi-res version, just a screen dump off my desktop
  8. DSP = Disability Pension? Still sucks Brendan to be in the position you are. Like Luke said, keep your chin up! and get onto that damn specialist and get him to complete that letter
  9. ^Really?! That's pretty rude Sacked or redundant?
  10. Legnum transmission is now replaced, WOOHOO! I'll be hitting up the Charity cruise on Sunday. If anyone else from here is going, come up and say hi! Will be there with a few other Legnum owners too, so don't be scared, we don't bite (hard)
  11. Thread revival! Has anyone sent an engine interstate? And who did you send it through? Chasing prices to send an engine (not g/box) to Perth WA and no idea who to use. Cheers Lee
  12. Oh well, you are way out woop woop to me, so I guess they can go to a good cause hehe
  13. Any more details of the car? just wondering if it's my old one... new owner seemd a little immature for the car and I have a feeling it may end up the same way.
  14. Mike - no you are not being paranoid - get that GTR locked up in a garage if you can. Seems to me they were sussing out your car for potential theft, so lock her up! Cuddy in the schoolgirl outfit was amusing, and I was suprised how decent she looked... Damn house loving diagnosing more!
  15. Haha, thats a couple of understanding wives... makes sense though why I regularly see Nicole having friday drinks with the girls at the Stag, you and Will are probably down the street at the 'Horse' :laughing-smiley-014:

  18. Must say, not surprised at Darren being 2nd post (and the content) I don't have a skyline or show-worthy car. Hopefully those that represented us last year can do good again (even amongst the shit-flinging)
  19. Point taken - and I agree there is now way I would not do as good a job as he would. BUT, I see it as he wouldnt take the job because he couldnt remove the dent completely as that is what his service is. He wouldnt be able to get at it from behind to knock with a dolly (??), and therefore did not want me paying for a half done job. What I am aiming to do is reduce the visibility of the dent UNTIL I actually care/save enough to pay hundreds of $$ to respray the door.
  20. ^Andrew, that a boys trip or nicole etc. going too? Because you know, what happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas
  21. ^Yeah I have, not so keen on doing that.. I know the vid shows no paint damage, but not keen to do the old hot/cold trick.
  22. Hi all, When the legnum was imported it copped a dent in the drivers door, which is slowly shitting me off more and more. I had a dentless removal guy come and look to tell me "I can't do anything about that as the side impact beam is right behind there", and then I took it to a crash shop to be told "because your car is pearl, we need to repaint the whole door" SO I dont want to pay for full respray of the door, so was thinking of giving one of the suction dent pullers a go. I'm thinking it can only flatten out the worst part of it, but wanted to know others experiences and/or if anyone has one I can borrow. $50 for a one time use seems a little steep so hoping someone has 1 I can borrow. Oh, and I can't get a pic of the dent as I dont have the car in my posession for a few days while the trans is getting some work. Cheers, Lee
  23. ^In which case its a GTS-4
