Wrecked S1 R33 Gts-t - Sydney
Hotwire replied to ProphetR33's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
How much for the fuel pump posted to Adelaide (5000) ? -
Yup, like I posted I have the springs, I bought some 2nd hand lowered springs. I should be able to get the top hats from the same person, but I need to know about the spring seats where it sits ON the shock Cheers

Item I Want to sell my GReddy Type R BOV setup for R33 GTS-t. It includes GReddy Type R Bov on cooler return pipe, Factory BOV that has had the manifold reference blocked off, and blocker for the stock vent pipe back to turbo inlet. So basically, it is a setup complete for R33. Price I am asking $180 + postage Location I am located in Adelaide, but willing to post at the buyers expense. Extra Info These BOVS retail for over $400 !! (Clicky) however the reason I am selling is this setup was on the car when I bought it, but I don't want the extra attention the BOV brings. Cheers Lee

Sorry, should have pointed out my current situation. I presently have Tein HR coilovers which were in the car when I bought it. Im looking for something a lot more streetable as at the moment the car really bounces over the rougher rds that I drive on each day. I will be selling these once I am able to replace the suspension. I have since got some springs (and top hats soon) so now I just need shocks and spring seats. So I have no stock shocks so I need new Front and Rear at once, thus the "one end at a time" option doesn't exist for me. So has no-one used the KYBs? Also, do new shocks always come with new spring seats or do I need to source these 2nd hand too?

How Do I Tell What My Spring Rates Are?
Hotwire replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Gary, Can you tell me the rate of these coils (attached in pic) Fronts are 98mm ID at the large end, 10mm dia coil 67mm ID at the small end, 14mm dia coil 9.25 turns Rears are 102mm ID at the large end, 11mm dia coil 88mm ID at the small end, 13mm dia coil 10 turns -
I need some shocks for my R33, and I would like help. Now I know most people will say "Bilstein Group Buy" but the bottom line is i dont have $1000 for shocks. I have tried to search, and the only other options I have come up with are Koni which are dearer than the Bilsteins, and KYB which are a twin tube. The KYB's I can get for $520 a set, which seems like good value to me, but: Has anyone used the KYB twin tubes, and how did you find them compared to stock? Are they an improvement or more of a like for like replacement? Alternatively if anyone knows of any other monotube shocks, please let me know. I did note on the whiteline site they had their "own" monotube shock, but were $348(f) and $309® +GST. I think this was single shock prices, can anyone confirm? Im looking to replace the shocks next weekend so some prompt replies would be awesome, thanks! Lee

They have tracks: Kwinana Drag complex which is similar setup to WSID (good facility!!) Barbagello (where V8 supercars run each year) So they have better facilities than us as we dont even have a drag strip!!

Sorry, I should have said they are not DAMPER adjustable. Damping is in bound and rebound, thus bound was the first thing that came to my head So the Tein HR's are height adjustable with C Spanners (which are included) which changes the spring height. Damper adjustment is internal in the shock, basically changing the valving as to how quick the oil/gas can move. the less it moves, the harder the ride, the more it moves the softer the ride. Thus the "clickable" adjustment on some shocks/coilovers.

haha, no hate don't worry They were on the car when I bought it (3 weeks ago now!) but they came on the car from Japan. I'm pretty sure they are genuine R33 fitment items, "is nice!"
-
Alternatively I have a set of Tein HR coilovers I want to be rid of. They are height adjustable, but not bound adjust. They are a very firm ride, and not suitable to what I use the '33 for. I just need some stock susp in the mean time till I can afford the bilstein group buy. Im not into drifting, but good hills runs, so the tein's must go. Red or Paully, Im after $800 + your stock suspension. PM me if you are interested

Hi all, My R33 I bought recently has Tein HR coilovers in it which seem riddiculously harsh. I was thinking of getting new springs to replace the existing ones, with a rate of possibly 5/4 to suit aussie streets. However being the HR's, they do not have adjustable shocks, sowould I be wasting my time? Is a lot of the harshness coming from the valving in the shock? I still want a firm responsive ride, but at the moment the car is just bouncing on the bumps of the adelaide hills rds because it is too stiff!! I emailed Fulcrum, but they wanted to sell me a "full rebuild and new spring rates, revalve etc" at a cost of $1200++ BUT I only want to change the springs at a more reasonable ~$400. Please help! Cheers Lee

For those interested, I may have some Tein HR coilovers available soon. I have them in a car I just bought, and they are too stiff for the roads I drive on each day. Came in teh car from Japan, so Jap spec, not sure on spring rates but hard (12/10 possibly?) Will come with C Spanners and in great condition (no leaks etc). Will be aiming for $900+ postage. Just need so sort some replacement susp first. The sus would be great for a weekender/track day car but as I drive my car every day (over some rough rds) they are a bit too stiff. Looking to replace with the Group buy bilsteins so if you want to work out a swap, let me know. Cheers Lee

Rear Camber Kit And Changing Height
Hotwire replied to Hotwire's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hrrmmm, A R T is on the other side of town to me I work in the city and had Light Wheel Alignment recommended to me, any thoughts? Also, I get a dull thud from the rear of my car on rough rds. I have a feeling some of the bushes in the rear are not the healthiest, can you suggest anywhere other than pedders to have the suspension inspected/tested? Or are Pedders ok for this? -
Bringing back a recent thread. Has anyone bought an R33 front bar from Viva Garage? I like the idea of the GTR style for the GTS-t, as my current bar is more 400R (side vents, ugh!). I would like to know peoples experience with FRONT BARS and their fitments. Looking at the photo's of Flicks car, a 5-10mm gap like between the door and guard is NOT acceptable to me so I want to know if all their stuff fits like this? Cheers

Rear Camber Kit And Changing Height
Hotwire replied to Hotwire's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well I had new tyres fitted to the front earlier today, and had them check the wheel alignment. Car is as follows: Rear Camber Right -1.39 deg Left -1.42 deg Rear Toe Right +7.8mm Left +5.8mm FrontCamber Right -1.40 deg Left -1.24 deg Front Toe Right +2.6mm Left +4.4mm SO One whiteline KCA374 will be fitted to the back to bring Camber back to around -.75 degrees. Can the other items (front camber, front/rear toe) be adjusted to be even? Im not looking at aftermarket kits, but just if there is enough adjustment to make them even again. Cheers -
Rear Camber Kit And Changing Height
Hotwire replied to Hotwire's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the help Salad. I just presumed it was about 2.5 deg as the outer tread has about 3mm or so of tread, and the inner is basically a slick Well I'll try one kit for now and see how it goes, Cheers -
Im looking to correct the horrible rear camber on my R33. Presently the car sits at 345/340 f/r on Tein HR coilovers, however in around 3-4 months time I will hopefully be getting the SK group buy whitelie and bilsteins as the teins are far to harsh for Street. HOWEVER I need new tyres in a few weeks, and I want to fix the camber now so I dont ruin my new tyres. SO if I get the whiteline KCA347, will I need one or 2 kits to correct the camber at this height to about -0.75 deg (think its about -2.5/3 at the moment) AND Can I then readjust it when I get the bilstein package, with a height of 345 rear? ie. how do crush tubes work, do they crush once and thats it? THANKS! Lee
-
Gary, you have PM regarding the R33 setup Also, for a 345mm wctg height, will 1 or 2 of the KCA347 kits be needed to sort the rear alignment? With the coilovers I have now it sits at a height of 345, and the tyrewear is horrible on the rear, only getting 1/2 a tyres worth on the outer edge. It appears to be about -2.5/3.0 degrees now, so would it need 2 kits? Cheers
-
Ok its all good then, Glad you got your sale
-
He did? I enquired yesterday, but oh well. Let me know how it goes.
-
Can you please check the springs, there will be a part number stamped on the coil. If you can give me the part number, and I can confirm they are whiteline control springs I'll take them. Like I said $110 and you pay postage to Adelaide? Cheers Lee
-
Are the springs whiteline control springs, ie. same as SK is selling in the group buy? If so, $110 and you send them to adelaide?
