  1. Happy birthday young (???) Las!
  2. Well I was interested, till I saw it was only 2WD - Boo to you Cara
  3. Needs more low in the rear mitchy My old 31 - not bad for a pretty much stocker (bar springs/shocks)
  4. That might be true, but what if he had hit another car, crippling the driver? 3rd party bodily injury wouldn't have paid out and your mate would've been royally f**ked up. Just because someone gets away with something doesnt make it a good idea. If someone gets away with murder, does this make it ok for everyone? I don't think so.
  5. See now that is a pretty shitty small servo - it wouldn't surprise me if the don't sell much 98 there at all and you got some old horrible fuel. (probably sell plenty of 91 with the 4c dockets for all the dero's heading home to the western suburbs )
  6. What servo did you get the V-Power from Ruby? Was it a servo that is very busy? 98 ron fuel (no matter who makes it) will lose octane as it sits. So if it had sat in their tanks for 3-4 weeks because no one had bought it, then it would probably have been down around 95 RON. The trick is ALWAYS buy your fuel (BP, Shell, Mobil) from a very busy servo. Tanks get drained quick, which always means nice fresh 98 ron fuel. The same applies if you put you dont drive your car for a while. If it sits for a month or two, ALWAYS add fresh fuel, or at least octane booster before heading off again Supporting the above, I've use both V-Power and BP Ultimate in all my cars, and each fuel is the same as each other - never a bad batch because I always visit busy servo's on main roads
  7. I have sent numerous emails, and made phone calls to the AIR Track Manager each time to be told the same response. "we just need to get the resurfacing sorted/going and it will be up and running in about 3 months" - which has turned into many years. They have proven again and again they don't care about getting the track up and running to help out SA public. They'll do it when they can get the job done on the cheap (i'm guessing fitting inbetween downtime from other jobs to keep costs down) which is utter BS. IF they were serious they could pay a crew to come and re-surface it in a matter of weeks-month and have it up and running
  8. yet another B.S. response - in other words nothing is going to eventuate for at least another 12+ months (if ever) Would love to know more about the progress of the proposed alternative facility.
  9. That is an RB20E I'm pretty sure. Must have been a personal import as it wouldn't meet the power/weight requirements of SEVS (or the previous scheme)
  10. 2.5k won't get anything decent AWD - unless you get a Subaru Brumby ute!!! LOL Won't be overly competitive though. For 2.5k I would pick up cheap ass R31, Manual Conversion, 2nd hand Extractors & exhaust, minispool diff and keep the change!
  11. Kris - I'm out for AJD on sunday Family matters come first. I sent an email to applications@ajd, but just thought should post here too. So please pass my entry to another car if you still have a waiting list. Entrant 142
  12. I can add that this sort of training is invaluable. When I was 18, and had my license for 2 years I thought I was king s**t. My dad then paid for me to do a defensive driver trianing course developed by CAMS in association with Mercedes. I went out to Mallala at 8am where I was met by a group of driving instructors and a lecture room. We spent the first hour going through the theory of correct driver positioning, vehicle control of various driver positions, and some basic road craft. We then went out for a first track session (1 hr) and again back to the class room for another 30 min of theory. This repeated (1-1.5 hr driving, 30 min theory) for the rest of the day - and at the end of the day I drove away realising far more about car control than I ever had before. Not once in the day did we go excessively fast, learn about the race lines or anything that I initially thought I may get out of the day. From the day I learn emergency car control in ALL sorts of conditions. Since the course I can guarantee the training has saved my life at least once (due to another drivers idiocy the accident almost occured, and due to my training it didnt). Anyone who thinks advanced (go-fast) courses may hold more value for them than a defensive course - you are fooling yourselves. The defensive driver training Kristian is emphasising here is the best way forward for ALL motorists on our roads - young and old. Best of luck Kristian, and if I can help out with anything let me know. Cheers Lee
  13. What's the point of having it if you're never going to drive it?! Its still only a car. I say this because my Dad had an XY GTHO from 1999 to 2007 - and he drove it everywhere! He drove it to Bathurst (NSW) and around part of the track in a club sprint, He took it to Ballarat Vic, and also drove it at least a couple of times a month. Sure the car was worth in excess of 200k when he sold it, but why have such a good car if you can't drive it?! In all the kms and years the car still appreciated in value because it was what it was - a VERY unique motor car. Wrapping it in cotton wool and storing it in a shed is boring.
  14. We ahve a winner here!! at least with good camera footage you can hand it too police and its hard proof for your insurance company.. You can also get good locks with fingerprint recognition, for a reasonable price, so you don't have to carry keys and the lock can't be picked.. What if they get in and steal the PC with the footage?
  15. Changing poopy nappies is easy!!! You'd be amazed at just how long you can learn to hold your breath for Either that, or think of the fat bastard quote from Austin Powers "Everyone likes their own brand" Well, your babies poops are a subsiduary of your own brand
  16. Meh, dont be shy:
  17. Nice car nick! Contemplated getting one of these for my current lease through work, but just not quite enough room for all the gear when we go away with the little one so ended up with the Liberty GT instead. Was rather impressed by the equipment list they have, nice looking german rocket!
  18. Yeah Mark was telling me he made a few improvements since he bought it - Im looking forward to seeing it at All Japan Day (should his entry be accepted)
  19. Must admit, the mood has changed on here over the years... Always the post whores who hang around a year or so, then dissapear (myself kind of included hehe) but everyone won't always be "hunky dory" with each other. One day I may even get my Liberty out to an SAU meet - or is the "skylines only" mentality still a little prominent at the moment with the "family"? yes I'm being
  20. Hi Daren
