  1. i took my car to Unique Auto Sports, my car was running shit as...they assured me it was the coil packs even offered them to me for $900, wow so cheap. Anyway i bought em my self for $600. It didnt even touch my problem, so $600 dollars later + there dyno fee i was left with nothing... I found the problem, guess what it was, one of the knock sensor plugs wasnt plugged in, how much did that cost me??? NOTHING!!!!!!!! THANKS HEAPS GUYS!!!!!! Seriously dude, search on here for ure problem u may be suprised at wat u find. Its wat i should have done first and saved a shit load of money...
  2. just for reference for all i have found the problem... turned out one of my knock sensors was not plugged in!!! car now runs extremely smooth (feels like a diff engine). getting it dynoed again on sat for a quick tune... KEYWORDS - Knock sensor, 5500rpm, power loss...
  3. Hi all, My question: If there are say 3 exhaust manifold bolts missing does this affect the car in anyway? Would it affect high rpm power??? Is it really bad? Reason i ask is cause today i was looking over my engine bay and noticed 3 bolts missing... Any advice would be great...
  4. coz i thought it would fix my problem but it doesnt, i need something to control ignition also. Thanks for your pointless reply...
  5. Hi all, Selling my SAFC II its brand new, never been used still in box and all. Only opened it to see what it looks like... Reason im selling is cause my tuner says it wont do nothing on my car and im better off going PFC...
  6. i did search but its hard to write an exact search line to bring up the correct threads thnks for the link...
  7. I know this has been covered before but i searched and searched but couldnt find the info i needed. Basically my question is this... What is needed to bolt the rb25 turbo onto the rb20det? Does anything need to be changed or is it simply a bolt off - bolt on...what about gaskets? is it fine to use the old ones? oil lines? water lines? Anything that anyone can think of that needs to be changed please state what it is... also i have an rb20det in my s13...will it still all line up (dump pipe etc...)? Any answers appreciated except "Do a search". Thanks in advance, Joh
  8. I run BP Ultimate all the time. You can also use Mobil Synergy 8000 and Shell Optimax or other 98 octane fuels. You can even use 96 octane if thats what its tuned for but if its coming off the boat i say you use 98 octane.
  9. i have one thermo fan (nothing else) on my car which blows onto the alternator. Only time it ever over heats is on those 35 degree and over days. I think with the alloy radiator and 2 thermo fans it should be sweet. Dunno if that helped you... P.S - My car is an s13 w/rb20t using the ca18t radiator, there is also a 76mm thick FMIC blocking the radiator so id say it does a pretty good job.
  10. Motul Turbolight 4100....if your doing your oil changes at approx. 5000-7000kms this oil is fine to use IMO...
  11. think it might be a series 2 r33 turbo...
  12. sounds a lot like the problem i have now with my rb20det...when i hit 5500rpm, power drops from 122rwkw to about 80rwkw, mechanic has suggested new coil packs which i ordered about 5 weeks ago and still havent arrived. I dont think its gonna fix the prob but i will let you know how it goes... maybe you should put it on a dyno aswell...i found my car is running super rich as SK pointed out, im looking at an safc to correct this... i'll let you know how it all goes... Joh
  13. i've got the factory BOV still on, i also have a POD and i can hear the pssscchhhh... save your money and only replace it if you need to. Joh
  14. off topic...wen did autosport get a dyno dynamics dyno? have they got rid of that old one they had in the ground?

  16. how are ya? got this of nengun website, hope it answers ure question... The second-generation S-AFC is a fuel computer that adjusts fuel/air ratio by modifying the air-flow meter/MAP sensor signal. The S-AFC features a user-definable, eight-point, adjustable fuel curve that can be set in 500 RPM increments. The range of fuel adjustment is +/- 50% at each of the user-defined setting points. On hot-wire vehicles, the Deceleration Air Flow Correction function is capable of curing the erratic idle and stall problems associated with open-atmosphere blow-off valves on hot-wire air-flow meter systems. The S-AFC is capable of monitoring and replaying the following data channels in Numerical, Analog Meter and Graph displays: Intake Manifold Vacuum/Boost Pressure, Air Flow Capacity, Intake Manifold Pressure, Karmann Frequency, Engine RPM, Throttle Position, and Air Flow Correction %.
  17. out of interest how many sensors are there on a rb20?
  18. very interested where abouts in syd are u? another question, is it a straight bolt onto rb20 (can i just undo bolts and put that one on?) pics?
  19. yeh i got my wheels from him...he hepled me out, good service.
  20. changed the fuel pump, the O ring seal that seals it in was 2 big, i think it was leaking petrol out, hence the smell. I chopped the seal down so it fits perfect and guess what...smell is gone!
  21. haha yeh i have changed mechanics, got it dynoed recently and its running very very rich... pfft lean my ass...
  22. I would have thought 15psi and the exhaust wheel ends up sitting in the cat... when you say sort out the fueling what do you mean? injectors? i already got a fuel pump...could you please elaborate? i plan on a remap and rb25 turbo later down the track....
  23. yeh the coil packs are wat sits on top of the spark plugs...
