  1. I visited Omori factory not long ago. Carbon airbox is 517.212jpy (incl. 8% japanese tax). By the way. The BCNR33 wing caps from above do not look like original Nismo items.
  2. It's not the gauge. It's an actual problem on the RB26. You will find information in here.
  3. No, as they were balanced brand new and are one the car now. And as I said before, I'm sure there won't be a noticeable difference from fine balancing.
  4. Before and after adjusting the cam gears? Yes I will.
  5. This for example is what a normal balancing diagram looks like: The balancing from factory is anywhere below the big line. I attached a picture of one of mine now You can see the big line on the left corner. The balancing should be anywhere below the line to meet the manufacturers specification. I think you won't feel a difference at all. All they say, the Turbos last longer with a better balancing. This is how the biggest Garrett dealer in Germany discribes the Garrett balancing: Garrett balanced the core assembly of the GT-R and GT-X turbocharger according to appropriate guidelines in a reasonable and cost-efficient framework. This balancing is usually sufficient. If it's not enough for you and you want a more exact balancing for your turbocharger, we can perform this for you. The costs for this is 130EUR. The work delays the delivery of your turbocharger to a maximum of one working day.
  6. The Garrett balancing is max of 1g up to 30000rpm and max 2g after that. Mine are balanced to max 0,2g now. Can upload a chart of the balancing if someone is interessted. Wasn't that expensive, so thought I maybe won't feel a difference, but won't harm.
  7. Yes, they were brand new. Heard the balancing from Garrett isn't the best.
  8. Just a small update, maybe it's usefull for someone in the future. I bought the -9's and got them fine balanced. I don't have a dyno graph yet because it was just mapped on the street, but I'm very happy with them. Full boost (1,45 bar) is at 3900-4000rpm with Tomei cam gears in stock position until now. Will adjust this on the dyno in the near future and see what it will do for better spool, I'm sure this will bring some extra response and midrange power. I really like it, that I get the same boost earlier than before. 1 bar was at 3800rpm before, now it's 1 bar at 3500rpm.
  9. Yes, they were running Nismo LeMans Turbos 14411-RS581. A Friend of mine has these on his R33 GTR. Journal bearings, rated up to 640hp (flywheel hp). Bit laggy, but still nice Turbos.
  10. The Sensor on the back of the Speedo is the same? They changed it in 8/91. Looks completely different.
  11. Use 3M PT1100 double sided tape. It's made for that kind of stuff. The Original side spats fits perfectly to the chassic, you wont get any problems with this tape. Using it myself for two years now. Best tape for exterieur parts like side skirts or spats. But let it harden for a few hours after you applied it, best with a slight pressure against the spats.
  12. Nissan L250 is what you need. Or a coolant which has this specification. Old japanese cars have a P-OAT coolant. It's always green. Mazda FL22 is the same and Honda E Coolant too.
  13. Does anyone have experience with adjustable cam gears on the original cams. Any suggestions on a value to start with?
  14. Thanks for all the answers. So I'm going for -9, leave the original cams, get cam gears an hopefully I'll reach my goal. 500 at the flywheel is a must.
  15. Yes it is. I want 1.5bar boost (21-22psi) at 3500-3700rpm And great response after in/off throttle. Almost like stock just with more power :-)
  16. Hi there I'm new to the forum. I've read lots of turbo related threads on here, but couldn't find a definitive answer to my question. I want to build an extremly responsive RB26. I wanted to use the -9's, because of the good feedback in this thread: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/322850-garrett-gt2860-9s/ Now a company here in Germany told me to use GTX2860R because they should make boost earlier than -9's they said. After reading the GTX thread in here, lots of people aren't that happy with them, especially with the response after on/off throttle. It's a street car for slow roads, I want an early spooling turbo an great response when on/off throttle or after gear changing. I don't care about max power. Around 500-550hp at the flywheel is enough for the streets I'm driving. And I don't want to rev the car above 7000rpm everytime. I will get Poncams and adjustable cam gears as well to adjust it for even more response. Has anyone driven both turbos an know which one to get? Can a GTX2860R really respond better than a -9? Thanks in advance and excuse my bad english please.
