Sounds like a terrorist, eh? It's OK, I lived in Brisso for 10 years eh, and sometimes remember how we used to talk eh? Anyhow, we ran a fair bit of boost(more than std anyhow) at Basky on the weekend and the catch can copped a hiding... But inlet piping is clean. When we run the return in Targa the oil in the intake pipes occurs. But at circuit we vent both the oil and BOV to ambient. Take Skyds suggestion, reckon you'll find he is onto it... TT

Motorsport will be worse off with the passing of Doug. His passion and genuine commitment to helping others stood him out from the crowd. Dougs GT3 left the road during last Fridays Eastcoast Targa near Bathurst. To Amy, and all Dougs family along with his many friends, my thoughts are with you. ScallyWags Racing staff and crews.... my condolances. I will always remember the time we spent together. The four hours it took me to put my number plate on Sunday night before TT04, because you forced me to have a beer in one hand at all times.... We will miss you Dougie!! TT #832

We take the GB off first (unbolt cross-member to Access top of bell housing) and motor out through the top. On way in we assemble lot first and go in from the top with a trolly jack under the diff. Hope this helps next time.. Good luck at Baksy tomorrow. TT

We always print our graphs with RPM on the bottom axis, and run in 4th gear. I don't understand why the kph reference, specially when you are trying to sort A/F. It is just anther calc to get back to the number you want.... Roys looks like something from Mt. Buller to me... we are going to run with full size exhaust next time out, so that should be interesting. Those p155y ones we run in Targa hurt the boost ramp something aweful. Well done Roy, keep the faith TT

I dunno, but I like to investigate alternatives, and for me it is easier to change the socket, and leave the loom in tact. Some prefer to solder wires and use heatshrink. My method takes ten minutes from go to whoa... Each to their own. Thats the beauty of having alternatives... Anyone who is interested I have some pics zipped. TT

Make that unsolder "4"

Gently remove lid, unsolder three pins, remove socket, do same to old AFM, fit socket, replace lid. Sika-Flex for seal.... Done. TT

We Just - well midnight - jerked on of our little RB20's off the dyno... PFC, 3", xtr(RB25) turbo, spitfire coils, 550's, X GT-r FMIC. Tucked her into bed with 235rwkW.... 1.2bar boost. 79 runs in a space of 31/2 hrs and top temp was 93degC Now rush out the shed and think, I got one of them... TT PS Oh yeah and good fuel.

I don't know if your PFC is new or not?? Anyhow, here's my spin if second hand... Power Exel enables the tuner to "Lock" parrameters. The only way I think you can unlock them is Power Exel or Datalogit (for sure FC-Edit can). The other alternative is to go to every screen, and note all the settings.. *XL spreadsheet will be good. (Inj settings to the 3rd decimal point) Then do a PFC reset via the "etc" Menu. If reset does not work... find a Datalogit owner, and they can unlock it for you. However if the PFC is new.... I am a Deer without peepers! Good Luck TT

An Accountant LOL, It is not the journey, but where you arrive.... or is the other way round. Sometimes the technical challenge gets you in... Keep the RB20 Roy, blow a few bucks, listen to all the ITYS's and have some fun. It is hard to save money and be passionate too. If you take the budget point of view... It seems to me the RB30 is the only way to fly.. TT

Custom Plenum & Cam gear adjustments
Targa Tom replied to Chris32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
And you don't expect anything sensible @ 11pm on Friday Night... The guys that design these items for OEM do have a fair idea. While I concure with skids diagnosis, it is like grinding a cam to suit your inefficient plennum. Sounds like a WOFTAM to me... Imagine setting up A/F readings on all six cylinders... I have enough drama getting the one average right. Also imagine the turbulance the inrush of air has to go through by passing up to five velocity stacks (if that is what is being used). Anyhow each to their own, I get "I told you so's from my tuner and crew cheif all the time. TT -
Got RSI from opening and closing scanner lid.... download from here http://www.gjmaustralia.com/downloads.htm When yo print out, read in conjunction with the 13b one and it will all make sense, well most of it. Good Luck TT

I'll scan it over the weekend and put on my web space... I use the one on the US site though, even if it is for a Mazda, it has all the info... Then Datalogit... mmmmmmmmmmmm bliss TT

Custom Plenum & Cam gear adjustments
Targa Tom replied to Chris32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I used to race karts. Way back when I had a fairly fast DAP T75.... Anyhow one night it was going stong (as they do when lean) and it put the rod through the bottom of the crank cases. A guy came to me in the pits and offered the price of a new engine for the barrell and head. We did the deal and by Wednesday he was on the phone "I just measured this barrell and it is Stock!!!" "I know mate,"I replied" dont, stuff with it. The next meeting I blew him off down the shute.... "WTF I said??... "Oh I just fixed up the ports he said.... Lesson for me... Unless you have gut loads of cash to spend on R & D, leave it alone... Who believes beer made in a garbage can is as good as the brewery makes??? When you pay for the the name you pay for the research.... Anyhow, I'm sure after countless hours (what cost) you cobber will get it to be something OK... How much are those trick Jap items again?? Hope it improves without being a WAFTAM Chris, Good Luck TT -
Power FC for RB20DET
Targa Tom replied to aybee's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sorry mate, but if you need the bucks will negotiate... email me here TT -
Well Wazza, you should be on the inventors... pattent that baby and spend your days in the arms of sexy babes. Ever noticed when the tap is turned on at home, the initial pressure is higher than once it is running. That is because when the tap is off you reach line pressure. This is more obvious when you are on the end of a small pipe as the water slows to a trickle after the tap has been open for a short time. What you need is "Constant" pressure, and enough volume... A fuel reg will adjust your pressure when you are at WOT (wide open throttle) or idle to the same level... OEM 2.55bar, then step to 3.05, and 3.55. Now put the gardenea catalogue away and buy a decent fuel set up to compliment your already substantial investment. TT

The PFC manual tells you Jack, its the HC man that gives you an insight. Obviously each model has its own integrity, so if there is a vartiation in hardware the OEM PFC program will be written accordingly. Any variations from this you can program in the variation via HC. Things like signal voltage vary according to model..... remember A'PEX means Highest Quality. Turn the O2 loop only effects tuning process and should be left on for road driving. Hope this assists

So what is a standard R34 actuator?? Anyhow I've got a couple here, $39.00 gets one in an airbag and problem sol ved... TT PM me or E-mail this link

Power FC VG30 AFM... Help required
Targa Tom replied to Targa Tom's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
As far as I can see, the voltage reading with 100% along side refers to the fuel map... So if I want to lean off when the AFM output is ie; 1.28v then I ramp that number 100 down.... so effectively the A/F will be say 95% leaner at that point. The 13b looks like it uses PIM rather than AFM, but the end result is the same. The actual air flow curves are different... Datalogit people may only know what I am talking about. And yes Skid, If I wanted to run a MkIII pulminator for AFM then I could form my own curve... Not thick down 'ere, but slow sometimes. TT -
Having a spot of trouble getting my head round the AFM thing. RB20DET PFC like all has 5 AFM options. Yet when you check next to the appropriate one nothing changes? What does the figure next to the AFM volt setting indicate? Gee that will help... TT

GTR injectors into RB20 - Question
Targa Tom replied to Chris32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
That AFM is easy, should have sent you the picks... I just removed old socket off an old AFM and fitted it to VG30 AFM. Have pics on my downloads page if you need in future. TT -
thats my spin... Chris, I am just going to do as Skid said.... Actually robbed a redundant A/C spade out of my mates ECU plug today. All I need to know is, Does the BNR32 sense in the air box? (doubt it) Or in the positive duct after the intercooler... (Would make sense to me) TT

Wanted old NFG RB20AFM. I will pay postage costs and donate $5 per unit to SAU. We need about four of them... Must be laying in the corner of sheds every where... TT
