Howdy HP Gods, Been chasing a HKS dump pipe like this one for a while... It is now becoming urgent. Maybe someone knows of a good casting shop, if so please email me at [email protected] Thanks in advance for you help. PS. Do NOT want currently available after market Dump from Ti or S'less. I have one of those already. I definately want a cast item as shown, or a local copy (casting shop) Tom

Dear Santa, Still really want one of these cast pipes. If anyone has one I will buy 'em a dump pipe of their choice to replace it.... Gotta be one someplace..

My Spin... if it floats your boat. Do twenty laps of your favourite track LFB... then do a flyer. Do two laps with RFB then do a flyer. If your best LFB is better then you are at the point where you decide does this come natural. If your RFB is quicker... just stay that way. After cutting my teeth in Karts years ago, LFB comes natural to me. In fact I only LFB when driving an Auto. But after getting behind then wheel last year after a 15 year layoff, during the 45 Targa Tas stages I only used the left a couple of times. And I bet it didnt make me quicker simply because I remember doing it (to much thought process). Murphy V8Supercars is about the only quick guy I know of you would call a LFB... and there are heaps of x karters in those things - Skaife, Ambrose, Seton, Owen Kelly etc... But if like Duncan Deawoo, or leaping off huge crests, then dable for sure Ciao

Teins usually sit at 90mm clearance on the pipe. Grab one of your mates, pop your shock out (15min or 1 can) undo top retainer and then with spring removed knock off top spring adjuster ring with a soft drift. Wind up adjuster the desired amount of lift (ie 15mm gap = 15mm higher). Spin up adjuster lock nut and one sharp tap done. Even with a "C" spanner this is the quickest method as doing it with the spring preloaded takes ages. Get your mate who is on his second can by now to put on top nut while you compress. Then get a "C" spanner B4 you do it to put back low... Hope this gets decal off your screen. Ciao

Depends on your needs. If you dont drive at 10/10ths with some ability then anything that gets your car to sit nice and stop the missus puppies getting motion sickness. If you want something that works... bilstein, ohlins, DMS. Cos all have guys involved in racing that can valve em to suit your driving preference. I notice someone here running federal tyres for instance... Now they are good for high 1:09's on my car... Dunlop D01J on the same track no suspension changes low 8's... So there is two seconds in the tyres alone. If you race, use race suspension... if you street, use street suspension and learn how to drive on it... You'll beat all the guys on stiff stuff every day. Regards

Remember you are talking about undertaking a major event. A perspex window will give you no gains. WAFTAM for mine. The Vids are great to bore your mates... But why throw 10kg of recorders in the car. The sponsors will get no benifit from incar stuf unless you pay Octagon for the rights to the footage (they own it!!!) The Celica's would be fun... A couple finished 3rd and 4th in 8LMSB this year. Hope this helps.. And keep reading those rules. Good Luck

Although it's been a while now, I race bikes at Lakeside. Fell off once or twice too... I havent been to Brisso for a while (lived there for 10 years) I recently signed an Internet petition "Save Lakeside" Too many houses and not enough tracks I reckon. Good luck with the lobbying in the future Ciao

Thanks Clint32!!!! Appreciated... Look out Merli, more deluded people... Sydneykid who pens many cm in these forums also believes it is an HKS dump pipe. I WILL SWAP A STAINLESS MANDREL TYPE SCREAMER FOR ONE OF THESE "HKS" CAST DUMP PIPES At least Merli is keeping my thread bumped... any publicity is good publicity. Ciao Clint32

Life is a Mirror Merli... "That sure as hell ain't no HKS dump pipe. That looks like something that came out of my ass last night.... sure reaks of a crappy attitude to me. I just wanted to procure the items, didnt want a bagging on my taste or lack of it! It may not be HKS, but it comes in an HKS turbo-kit box... and no I dont have the part number. I may well be wrong, cos I don't have the full HKS range commited to memory. Pick someone else to sling off at, I'm busy trying to find some hard to get parts.
-
Well Merli or is it Mr HKS. It is a Genuine HKS Cast item! I have a 3'' stainless mandrel split pulse item. If I wanted a 'ken mandrel one I would have asked for one. And anyone who has tried to source a PFC for HCR32 knows all the BS about them subbing to another mob bla bla bla. With all due respect... stop turning this post into a general discussion I know I will pay a "fair bit" but let me be the judge of value... You dont know why I want these items, so stick the facts.. Like the part number, now that was helpful! Ciao

No, Yes, well if you call working on airconditioning on oil rigs a mechanic... My back ground is I raced Karts for about ten years on and off in WA and Qld. I then raced motorcycles in Qld and after that worked and managed motorcycle race teams here and in Malaysia. OK not sure on difference in GTS R33 - 32, about 200kg I think. The difference is the class relative to capacity. I race evo's and GTiR Nissans and GT4 Celica plus M3R Bimmers. Our Budget was $AUD30k. Still havent checked how far we went over!!! If you buy secondhand make sure the stuff has plenty of shelf life... no good having to throw away a cheap $300 harness after two years when a $600 one last for 5. With the developement thing, we ran stock except for aero (asthetics and it works), dont throw money at things that will not take sec/km off your time. we used our own notes, but I grew up in tassie... most people do their first by sight and off the road book save $600 For your gear, hunt round at club days etc... Terra Trip, and Terra Pro are a must. We used a Shoie RJ open face.. Glass and is half the price of Bell/Arai.. Get a comfy seat that fits you snug. Five days 8hrs long time to be uncomfortable. My car is logged, but new cars will require additional cage bars... check before you spend. KNowng what I do now "FA" LOL I would do it the same as we did the first year... Good rubber and brakes, Good safe comfy interior, and reliable engine. We tried to have good suspension too, but only eight laps round Symmons plains B4 the prologue meant that was way out. You must finish your first year!!!! And that is something people said, that Irealy appreciate now. You dont learn jack about an event parked in a ditch on day two!!! Sponsors... We had very good commercial partners. Most of whom have signed on for 2004. I have been chasing sponsors for over ten years... and it is a numbers game, the more people you ask the closer you are to getting a yes! We did a full on proposal, and sold the signage positions. We came up with a value ov each sign and that is what it was invoiced at... consiquently we had some space on the sill and on the rear quatre spare. It is all about what you can do them, ie bring customers, get your head on TV in mags etc. once they are convinced you can do that, most people know the value and will find what you are asking reasonable. Only say what you can do for them, dont BS!! cos they wont come back the next year. You will have to pay for tyres, and you will have to pay for fuel.. so sponsors are very handy indeed. One tip, it is sometimes better to use a good product and pay for it, rather than a not so good one you get for free... ie Brake Pads, we used ebc, and I have read some garbage on these forums about 'em, but we bought several sets to test before settling on ebc, having sponsors meant I could buy them, rather than run a less quality pad (good enough for brocky..) Octagon will answer any ruling questions you have as the event gets closer. GTSR22 - dont know about crews, we are trying to get to rally Tas in 2004 also, but it will depend if I'm in Oz. Put an ad in the Tassie rally clubs news letters is probabley a good way to make contacts, get numbers off CAMS. or bring your mates, the ferry is free for cars!!! Hope this didnt bore you See you at the prologue 2005

Well Just a quick one, You will find a few guys in this forum who have done TT. Targa was 3rd (i think 99) one year & has been a regular for many years. gtrken had his Tassy passport revoked for knocking out a heap of trees... LOL I did most of the preperation myself, but many hands make lite work. You are only eighteens months out so dont waste any time. Download the pdf of the supregs & read read read... They change from year to year, but changes r pre empted. Whether for fun or to win, the R33 GTS-T is not a good choice. Why? Cos they are heavy, and have to compete directly against the likes of Glenny etc. The engine capacity times 1.7 turbo factor sees to that... Read the regs & you'll get to know the event. If you are new to motorsport, I suggest you start now in making sure your experience will satisfy the criteria. Go to the 2004 event, you will learn much & the trip will pay for itself in what you'll save from **** ups down the track. Ciao PM questions

nismo LSD/locker for sale for r33 gtr
Targa Tom replied to ma160802's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Merli ma160802 should be able to afford quite a bit for the info... judging by what he wants for the diff... LOL Seriously ma160802, we are buying close to 80yen at the moment, and consiquently parts are cheap from Nippon. Think your $AUD1300 is a bit steep. I have a standard "out of R32" clutch type centre in extremely good condition you can have for $AUD500.00 FOB. Don't want your AM one though Ciao
