  2. Ben, I know a guy who is looking for a nav. Good safe steerer who has done it about 5-6 times. Drop me a PM and I'll ring him. Its even in a Nissan which means all these guys will continue to talk to you. (Have just sent him and email) We will be there, but first Rally Tas. At the moment we are Preparing TT
  3. It's a no brainer, Robbie Gordon, Dale Earhardt, Penske, Rousch, YPM, JV & MA.... Ford Chev & Pontiac... NO Honda, Mazda TV audiences bla bla bla... Buggered if I know TT
  4. Well for the boring tripe everyone seems to think it is.... it has got a few points of view. My opinion is the blocking by Tander, not fast but you're allowed to defend... He got black flagged. Lwondes blocked or defended - kelly got into the back of him and got a drive through. End of story. Last time I noticed it was called racing, not crying on the radio because you are being held up!!! Bring back lap boards so we cant hear the wingeing for one. All you have to ask is "Would the decision been the same in the 4th round of the series"? For mine Tander would have been let go because there would be no perception of team orders, Kelly R would have got the drive through.... So the talent challenged whimp has just won the V8 supercars??? Doesn't say much for the rest of the 32! For mine Kelly won fair and square - albeit not in the cleanest fashion, but within the rules. Lowndes - just when he wanted to step into Brockies shoes, I hear he is bound for DJR where crying and wingeing is an age old tradition. Bring back Ambrose I reckon, now he does have talent. TT
  5. Just checked out their site ... looks fine You find something on this forum There are more ways to kill a cat than poke you fingures down its throat... Ciao
  6. #832... Well Duncan, t01-100 waited till I used up all the bad luck then issued it to someone else. Good number with top 25 and class winning history. A few new and reverse stages this year which will mean notes have not been used at speed on those stages. Recce advised! All the best and if you think 4 months is a long time - it aint! Ciao
  7. Duncan, I question the buy notes not recce routine - but each to their own. Even with notes it takes a while to trust them... Our notes, Vandenbergs, or the Rally Notes for that matter differ slightly - and you may quickly decide a better way for you - so I would try and do as much recce as time permits. Our notes have a distance at the begining of each line.... my missus used that as a check and got bent and twisted when the probe went south... My current nav doesn't fall off-or so he says (yet), and rarely uses the terra in stage, but has many signs, trees, and posts to reference our position. Anyhow, t01-100 has plenty of spares if you "rooster" up... As I said, the dirt rally guys would be a good place to beg borrow steal one - mine is actually on loan from one of our previous sponsors. Not long now - bet you can't wait. TT
  8. No, they are very cheap rally navigation aids... Longhurst's car is one of the rare ones that has none. Poor bugger struggling for budget, I guess he had to cut corners somewhere. At around 1100 for both, makes for lot less strees in the cab. If you have a big exhaust and the sound deadening removed, even the Terra Phone struggles - without it your navigator might as well be a mute. It all depends on the navigator. If you have good recce and note many check objects for when he falls off the notes... then Terra trip not required, just use odometer on transports. However if your nav gets lost, you get wrong call because he cant get back on the notes... Those expensive stop watches will appear very cheap compared to the repair bill. You have been there Duncan - there are many to things that make the job easier... Trip meters are just part of the equation. Hook up with a dirt guy and lease theirs for a cartoon of P155. - Another option. TT

  14. Pads... We ran EBC Red in Targa, then they went to V2 which I thought wern't as good (we had a performance increase so that may have been a dud comparo) But THE pad IMHO is SBS Dual Carbon for something like a GTS-t or R with the standard rotor/calipers. They are good in STD Evo too (who cares LOL). For the larger brakes you may have to drop bacck to Ceramic Carbon... Either way SBS have many world superbike and MotoGP wins - they are tops for four wheels too Hope this helps. Oh, Guest101 - You are a danger to yourself and any other poor soul that shares the road with you TT
  15. Kerry 1. elf LMS (now WRC) 2. Devonport Tyres I think 3. when I last bought $980 for 200 4. The only 102RON fuel I have used... horse power in a drum! Will be looking at all options for the Valiant, but it will need to be very attractive to change.. one reason to c hange is we will probabley get away with 98 given our stock tune. But if you want "Numbers McLaren" to dial up the goods, use the good stuff TT
  16. Well at $4-8 dollars a tank I think it is worth the risk. standard ECU's run super rich and safe so you are not going the get a leg-up from slower burning fuel. The guys runing 3rd aprty ECU's and dedicated tunes are going to see a difference for sure... and it wont always be good. One problem we have in Tassie is volume, it will sit in the ground and in a tank that has been used for a couple of different fuels in the past. The boat I believe brings all fuels so there can be cross contamination there... add all the little things up and it is not ideal. We have used elf for the last 3 years... not always for performance gains - but just the fact it is consistent. I can't get over the people on these forums who spend hundreds of hours and countless dollars on performance mods, then skimp on fuel. While the power output via a standard ECU may be marginal or even down - I am reasonably comfortable saying that it would not be harming your car. As for knock - all the Apexi users should know within ten minutes of filling up if the fuel is sus... Now Rosie - I am to undertand you have lunched another engine? Phew, thats gotta hurt - I hope not. My 2 Bob TT 'bout time you got a Val dipster. Will give you a ring next time I'm going...
  17. Emailed you today Ben, sorry for delay, holding deposit. Looks like she's going circuit racing benno... thanks for the referal. TT
  18. Well it is only 98. We run 102 in the circuit car (and in the old RB20), but its got to be better than 95 + booster. My thing is at about 9.5:1 so it could probably run on kero anyhow. Come Targa 07 we will probable run a 102 or >98 race fuel anyhow... but not with the ADR tractor tune. Catch ya TT
  19. Off thread, but BP Ultimate is now in Tassie Marlin, including the servo in Burnie TT
  20. WTF!! Looks like the gangland war has spilled over to Lonny... Bugger me, who was "chasing" her - Chopper Read? I have never heard such tripe in a long time - thankfully nobody was seriously hurt!
  21. and fuel is soo cheap there too - $2.25/ltr when I was living there 6 months ago TT
  22. You are spot on wogboy- ... being designed as JDM, Japan has much better fuel than we have here in Oz, don't quote me but 98 is the norm. So running on 95, you are right at the bottom of the ECU range. I have 3 engines stuffed purely because of dud fuel. So the rest should follow your lead, and treat their engines with some respect. I think given our current fuel status that the oil companies will now phase out 91RON... it is only realy good for lawn mowers and starting fires anyhow. The pricing is OK. Using 19.95 for booster and 95Ron has us paying 1.84 / litre. See ya soon Rosie, with a trailer full of drums. TT
  23. '03, Benno If anyone is interested, feel free to PM me or email - [email protected] If it doesn't attract genuine interest soon, I'll wreck it.
