Living With An R33 Gtst

Its that time of the year again where everything's due for renewals...registration, roadside assist and the dreaded insurance renewal.... Waiting on a few cheap parts to arrive for me to install. I say cheap...I mean cheaper looking at the big picture of things. Some of which I'm sure people will think are super pointless, calling it now -

Hey, Cheers guys. Yeah HICAS has not been playing up as such but the results of the suspension report show a tiny bit of play in front sway bars and rear HICAS, nothing noticeable while driving, or ive just gotten used to it. Car audio is defs something I want to do, but I'm torn between a single din with gauges or a double din (want to give those cheap chinese android units a go). Gotta think about it. Im working on another DIY project for the car atm, waiting for some parts to be shipped. Keen as to share with everyone "IF" it works.... -

Cheers dude, Yeah it was supposed to be stock springs but the was defs not stock height so dunno what was happening there. In terms of comfort, im pretty happy. Its still bumpy but the bumps aren't as harsh which makes it nicer on a whole. Im not debating whats next, Sway bars, HICAS delete Rest of exhaust (Currently catback) Headunit, amp, speakers etc. -

I bought a set of R33 suspension from a guy in NSW and installed them today. Wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. Its just a set of Pedders R33 shocks and lowered springs. Before During After -

I was pretty happy with what they did. I knew something was wrong so I took it to someone who could check and they gave me a sheet with all the actual values of results from testing and explained what meant what and what needed to be fixed. I didn't get them to do any work but fault diagnostics are fine. Using their info to find parts by myself now. -

Got a full suspension/steering/braking test done today from Pedders Suspension. -Front left shock is completely dead -Front bump stops are badly worn -Upper control arm bushes are split and worn -Front sway bar links are knocking -Left hand rack has tie rod end play -Rear HICAS is very loose and has lots of play Cool...just what I needed. Time to start looking for parts. Might get a full set of shocks and springs for the car now, get it a tiny bit lower. Anyone have any experience with Pedders shocks and springs? -

Thanks for that. It was our first so a few hiccups, hopefully our next will be even better! Place is in South Australia, Fleurieu Peninsula. Car has developed a bad steering wobble when going over bumps, one shock has a decent amount of oil that is leaking so may be dead. Time to look for new suspension.... -

Hey Guys, So me and a mate have been working on and off to make videos for a YouTube channel and this is our first proper larger scale video. Would be awesome if you could give it a watch and let us know what you think! Nissan Skyline R33 GTST Review -
Apologies for not following rules, but I tried to take pics with my drone and just didn't work so I started making videos. Have a look at my channel and let me know what you think! https://www.youtube.com/user/shubham474

Did not get an alignment as I didnt have time before work, but I did work oout on the way that its the left hand front wheel which is causing the wobbling through a scientific experiment of driving over bumps and potholes to see how the car reacted. Might take the wheel off and have a look to see if I can see anything once I get home. -

Went on a long highway drive and discovered a pretty bad steering wobble issue. So I went to get the wheels checked for balancing, discovered rear tyres were completely worn on the inside edge, like camber wear but I don't have camber on my car other than whatever is present as stock. Ended up shelling out for two new tyres and balancing to find the wobble still isnt gone....yay.... -

Been no work on car. I am currently in a situation where I am not sure whether I am going to keep the car for much longer so I have not done any work. Once I know, I will start to work on it again. As of now, just driving it everyday trying to figure out the next steps and hopefully I can continue to update this thread in the near future. -
I bought a drone recently, just need to find some cool locations and take some pics/vids

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
shubby0901 replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Pirelli P1 Cinturato (245/45R19) Had them for a few months now. Daily driven. Awesome tyres, grippy as even when you try to make them slip in the rain. Dry: 9/10 Wet: 9/10 Value: $250 each from Bob-Jane Fitted...7/10 Old tyres: Nexen N6000 Came with car with decent tread on them. Super crap. No grip in wet. Noisy and quick wearing. Dry: 5/10 Wet: -5/10 Value: Not sure..didn't buy -

Nah my car is not that bad so its not too bad. Ive been pulled over before and they just check licence details and then breath test and are on their way. Every RBT though, you gonna get tested no matter what. -

Well...in the interest of complete disclosure...its mainly in there cuz it looks cool as ahaha..but you know..safety is a bonus. Yeah I have heard the King Springs are not too bad but not great. Might have to look into the cost and availability of pedders springs. Cheers man, yeah not a fan of canon's myself. I dont really want to go coilovers because dont need another reason for popo to have a cry...also I dont think ill ever use the adjustabilty. Also shocks and springs allows me to play with various springs without spending thousands. -
Hi All, I have a R33 GTST which has stock suspension. I want to upgrade it to reduce roll and make it a bit smoother. I noticed SCA has KYB shocks and King Lowered springs on their site which you can order a full set for $1114. Is this a combo which people have used? And if so what are their opinions? Alternatives also considered. No coilovers please as every car I have sat in with coilovers is rock hard and my car is daily driven in traffic and on shitty Adelaide roads.

Going through Supercheap's website and noticed they can supply KYB shocks and King springs. All up, a full set of new springs and shocks come to $1114 from them. Would love to hear peoples opinions on this combo especially if theyve actually used them before. -

Not much progress. Was bored today so I thought I'll give something a go. I cut a blocking plate out of a coke can and installed it on the BOV for some sick pigeon noises. Was all right with car in garage and airbox cover off but while driving wasn't very noticeable so I got rid of it and went back to stock. What pod filters do people recommend? -

Bored at work so thought I might as-well think about what I want to do more..time and money is limited but no harm in having dreams. Performance: > Rest of exhaust changed, (Dump, cat etc) > Nistune + Retune > R33 GTR Brembo's > Return flow intercooler....maybe.... Aesthetics: > Change front bar. I like the Nismo/Jetspeed thing > Install some form of rear diffuser >GTR Pods > Change front seats, either R33 GTR's or some other branded ones The list goes on and on but these things I want to do atm. -

Car's all fixed up, thanks to Spikes Auto. He also sealed the lights and fixed a possible boot leak too.
