  1. Ive mentioned before that I had already done the cleaning but am still having the issue therefore I asked in a thread with someone else with the same issue. Infact, I used that very article as a guide. The second question was which plug was for the TPS, since that article has only 1 plug where as my R33 has 2. Thanks for the contribution though.
  2. So just to confirm, thats the top or bottom plug on the throttle body? Also is it both plugs for the idle valve? As for the gasket, I tried to be really careful about the gasket as many people said you can reuse it. I removed it, cleaned with with a dry cloth and reinstalled as it looked like it was in pretty good condition.
  3. Ok I will try these methods tomorrow morning. It might be something to do with the idle valve as it was idling very high when I did the cleaning and I had to really tighten the screw. Even now, it idles at just under 1000. Not sure about how to get it lower. Also was thinking of changing the O2 sensor but was unable to get it out so will have to go and buy a removal tool and sensor if I need to change that..... EDIT: Spelling errors...
  4. Whoops I shouldve mentioned. Its a stock ECU. Car has stock exhaust, stock BOV. No performance work done.
  5. Hey, ive got the same issue. The revs do not fluctuate as much but the car is rough while standing still. It doesnt stall as I have done the cleaning of the AAC valve. This only happens when the air-con is on.
  6. Hi guys, So I had a feeling my HICAS wasnt working and i did the diagnostics and got the error as the vehicle speed sensor. Reading up on other posts/forums, I have no issues with power steering, light doesnt come on except when starting up and I dont hear anything from the back. So where would one start about trying to fix this issue? Thanks
  7. So go or no go for the T5 new wedge lights on ebay?
  8. I recently bought a R33 GTST which is stock. I get about 250kms on 3/4 tank (roughly 40L). I dont actually wait for the light as I dont know how far the car will go haha... edit: roughly
  9. I had looked at that but the latest post was 2011, so I thought people might have changed opinions or found new places by now. Anyway I already used a place called Tacho Automotive in Marion. Been there twice now (one for inspection and one for clutch). They've been pretty good.
  10. Generally the other ones are state specific so people can discuss where they got parts or got work done etc. Anyway will use that i guess, thanks.
  11. Seen this quite a few times on other forums but havnt been able to find one on South Australia, so thought it would be cool to see what people are doing. Hopefully it catches on, its a lot of fun to read
  12. Yeah it helped me solve my issue too.
  13. Oh right yeah I wanted to see what experiences people have had with the blended fuels.
  14. Gun Metal Grey R33 leaving UniSA Mawson Lakes Campus today around 3:15, I liked the colour quite a bit
  15. Hey guys, I need to get my R33 GTST's clutch changed. Does anyone have and recommendations? Would like to know a few people who work from home near and around the Glenunga/Myrtle Bank area. Thanks Shubham Garg
  16. Did the cleaning today. Will report back on its effect. Immediate observations report a very smooth car, smooth revs and smooth idle. Idle set to 950 rpm
  17. Just completed this....took a newbie hour and a half. Car is a lot smoother both when accelerating and standing still. Seems to have removed the engine hunting issue. One thing I did differently was cleaning the insides, spraying wasn't doing much so ended up filling a bowl with the cleaner and letting it sit for 5 minutes. Also the gasket was in pretty decent condition so just used the same one. Thanks for awesome walk through!
  18. Drove to the liberty close to my house just for this... Im not really trying to start fights. Just wanna know what people use and found works well with their skylines being a new skyline owner...
  19. It says it on the pump, talks about the benefits of ethanol blend. I believe Shell's 95 doesn't have ethanol, not 100% sure but I know the liberty's do which is unfortunate as they're usually the cheapest.
  20. Filled up Shell V-power...will see what it feels like and the fuel economy
  21. Hey guys, I know there are threads about this but I havnt been able to find any relatively new ones. I have a R33 GTST which is stock. What fuel do you guys use? Most Unleaded fuel above 91 is 5% ethanol or 10% ethanol...apparently this isnt good for the car. Thoughts?
  22. My new car....so much fun to drive, wayy better than my parents' civic.
  23. Would something like this work? http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Permatex-Form-A-Gasket-Sealant-No-1-85G.aspx?pid=5365#Cross
  24. I wanna give my a car a clean this weekend too. If the gasket is not really re-usable, can we use one of those tubes you get at auto stores for making your own gaskets? Also should it be hardening or non-hardening?
  25. So I tried to turn the screw, there was no significant changes to the RPM, went from 900-1000, even though I unplugged one of the 2 plugs on the throttle body, but I drove with the Aircon and radio on and it didnt stop...so I guess it did make a difference...
