hey all, just wanted to know how much anew alternator will cost for a R32 rb20det. just had the RACV out and told me that my altenator is only pumping out 10v. also, does the RB20det use the same alternator as the RB20de? ur help would be very much appreciated...

hey all, currently looking to purchase a new intercooler for my r32. just wanted some feedback... what is the difference between a tube-fin compared to a bar-plate cooler. what will be the better buy and what would be the prefred intercooler choice - keeping in mind performance etc. thanks

hey fellas.... has anyone taken their car to hyper tech auto at vermont? wanted to get some feedback on them as i wanted to take my car to them as they are fairly local.. i checked out their website... they seem pretty good as their partnering mechanic used to work on GTR's.. yeh...they use to be in waverley rd rite beside the pool but since moved to myrtle st (the street right opposite).. the reason why i ask if anyone has taken their cars there for a service is to see if he has done a good job or what. from my personal experience i wundt recommend him at all. reason being he took 4 days to fit a clutch into my car. not only that i have had to take it back to the shop 4 times since he has fitted it due to him doing what i think is a 'dodgy job'.. this was because he either didn't bleed the clutch properly and since having the clutch fitted i also have had problems with my 4wd not working properly. after 4 times taking the car back to him (a total of 13 days carless) and having to get a second clutch fitted (luckily under warranty), the car is still not running right and the clutch is still slipping and 4wd still not 100%. sori to vent my frustrations about this but i guess im just letting fellow skyline drivers not to take ur pride and joy to GSB in glen waverly, for such a straight foward job - u cud take it somewhere else to get quality work done.. dont get me wrong - the main mechanic/owner (george) is a nice guy, just seems like he took every opportunity to cut corners..

hey all, just needed ur feedback on this... i recently fitted a new clutch to my r32-gts4. since then i have had countless problems with my 4wd and clutch. i first thort that i was fitted with a dodgy clutch as after a week i was having problems getting it into 1st or reverse -- so i took it back to my mechanic. this apparently was caused by the slave/master cylinder needing to be replaced. the car was still slipping after this but for some reason i doesnt seem like its the clutch playing up... it seems to be caused by the diff. was hoping to get some feedback on the atessa system having this same or similar problem.. do you know if a faulty diff / 4wd system could case my car to slip its gears? i guess im just puzzled as i thort rplacing the clutch would fix the slipping problem, but obviously it hasnt... ur help with this would be very much appreciated.. so thanks in advance. mario

hey guys - your help on this would be very much appreciated.. i just replaced the clutch on my R32 to a exedy extra heavy duty organic clutch.. however when the mechanic fitted it on he also told me that the clutch master cylinder & slave cylinder needs to be replaced. there is a slight leak above the clutch pedal and when the clutch is engaged to change gears while the car is started it doesnt go in smoothly at all, u realy need to crunch the gear stick to push it into gear.... i suppose im wanting to get an idea whether this has happened to anyone else when they replaced their clutch... also do u guys have a general idea on how much a master & slave cylinder will cost. the mechanic says that it shudnt be any more dat $200 or so... is he ripping me off or what? when he changed the clutch he also changed the rear main seal, machined the fly wheel... now he is sayin that i also need these 2 things. if you guys have a rough idea on prices this would be very very much appreciated...

unscrewing these wires doesnt effect anything else???

was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the speed alarm.. my r32 makes a ticking bell sound whenever i drive over 100-110kms/hr. is this just something with the r32's or does r33 models also come with this alarm. its so annoying especially when your in the freeway.. does anyone have any idea how to get rid of this??? was tryin to do a search for similar threads but had no luck so far.. thanks in advance much apprecited
