Rb30 Help Guys Read All Threads Too
rockabilly replied to rockabilly's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hi racer . thanks. when you remove the housing from the 26 block you are left with a thread sticking out of the block so if you wanted you could just screw the oil filter straight on. must be different on th 25,s. here is a piccy of the 26 block in mine from my rebuild..bernie -
Rb30 Help Guys Read All Threads Too
rockabilly replied to rockabilly's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
cheers r31nismoid. i have read the rb30 thread and several others too, all great for info by the way..you guys are well on the ball with this, but i am struggling with the piston selection and headgasket thickness choice. here in the uk we do not use copper headgaskets anymore and have not done for 10 years. you can get them but you need to know exactly the spec you want. also the block decking issue as in how much to remove. if i take the block /head to any engine builder here he wont have a clue about squish area,s volumes etc.so you have to do that yourself, go to him and say can you deck the block .40 thou etc thats my dilemma. earlier in this thread a burette is mensioned what is one of them?. thanks guys for replying, i know how many times people come on and dont use the search facility, been on forums for many years so i know how it works, just struggling as there are not maany r30/26 ones on the forum running 600+bhp..bernie -

cheers shanef, sump adapter i know about and my makes is making that he,s a cnc operator, the water is no problem, will be using my 26 head so water temp sender shoould be ok. but oil sender? i thought the housing from the 26 complete would bolt onto the 30 block?. that holds the sender unit aswell as the oil filter..bernie. p.s block has holes but got plugs in so may well nees to tap, but thats not a prob... -

hi guys been reading all the rb30 threads and have decided on an rb30 ,, currently my 33gtr runs 25/30 jun cam 264/272 9.7mm lift. 720,s d-jetro, 600 bhp @ the fly etc.. just sold the block/rods/crank/oil pump/ water pump/turbos and hks elbows. now i have got an rb30e motor, can get some cp forgies, crower rods.. in the uk also the acl bearings n1 oil/wtaer pumps.. ordering an oil pump collar too my questions are...read somewhere think it was a post by cubes that cp now make 9.0.1 forgies. is this too high, and what tomei headgasket would you fit, pm,ed, sydney kid and he mensioned squish but hear in the uk its not that simple, engine builders dont get involved with decking and squish areas its upto yourself to tell them..reason i would like tomei is it comes with oil restrictor and gaskets for inlet..also turbo going to be buying manisfold from 6 boost. and fancy a gt35r with ex gate. what rear housing would you guys reckonmend and what waste size.. looking for 500+ foot pounds torque and boost on by 4k ideally. car is road used and a few trackdays a year.. p.s also has a tomei sump baffle, rear head oil return, 25 row oil cooler, 2 x 10 row gearbox/transfer box coolers. runs splifires aswell. just to help... cheers guys i know there is a lot of questions there, but there are a few of us here going rb30 on our own really building them in our garage.. and advice would be great.. bernie

cheers white 32 thanks for replying so quickly, really appreciated. pm you and sorted now thanks chaps... ps the motor i have found is a rb30e will this be ok for 700 bhp @ the fly with stock crank, got some crower rods, cp forgies on order.. thinking n1 oil/water pump, acl bearings. too and 6 boost manifold and gt35r maybe .82... would like 500 pounds of torque.. bernie. car is a 33gtr so my sump with adapter too, already runs a tomei sump baffle and 720,s tomei pump and apexi d- jetro. also could anyone advice i run jun cams 264/272 9.7mm lift any good for my application or should i sell?.

hi carl just a question what is 376rwkws? in bhp @ the fly.what kind if torque is it making and when?.just curious as i am thinking of going single. i pm,ed cubes for some advice which was great. would this combo stretch to 600 bhp@ the fly. or nearer 450-500 foot pounds torque.. bernie -
just been reading this guys, wish i lived in oz,, here in the uk today shell optimax which is 98 ron is 101.9 uk pence per litre.. bernie.
-
hi mate, i would personally not touch the original ones. guys over here in the uk have had problems when changing the std bov,s .the afms or maf as some call them do not like vent to atmo...causes over fuelling when changing gear. as for location. this is mine and the 32 are in the same spot under the front drivers headlight behind the bumper.. note i am running d-jetro hence blitz twin bov,s bernie/uk

great thread. after years of rebuilding classics, i know the work involved here....oh by the way great colour. bernie/uk super clear red 33gtr

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
rockabilly replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hi guys. followed this thread when it began. at the time i was rebuilding my rb26.. its now done 2000 miles no probs .. here are some picks of my oil return mod.. sump has tomei baffle too..bernie/uk.. the plate with the tail piece was originally screwed to the head. its no bonded. while the car was at fast idle i removed the sump return to see what amount of oil was returning. at 2000 rpm its quite a shock even with a tomei 1.2 mm restrictor fitted. -

Track Guys/tuner Help Please.
rockabilly replied to rockabilly's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
cheers guys was not sure what kilowatt figure was. it has splitfies in it. here,s the dyno.. and has nobody designed a cold air feed to the cover?. cheers bernie/uk -
hi all. my 33gtr runs about 600 bhp @ the fly. last weekend whilst on silverstone curcuit/uk i had a bad misfire issue. came off track and removed plugs and coilpacks.. 4 were white in colour two where black. so hence the misfire. noticed the coilpacks were red hot, i still have my plug cover fitted as i have a vented bonnet and water is an issue in the uk. anyway let the coilpacks cool fitted them back on and cleaned the two plugs up with a cloth. did not fit the coilpack cover and went out for 2 more sessions no more problems.great. but i would like to run with my cover fitted is this impossible or do i just have a couple of faulty packs. cheers bernie.. p.s. temp outside was about 25 deg on the day.. each session lasts 20 mins and silverstone is 3.3 miles a lap..

hi guys. sorry to jump in on this thread but my problem is similar and i wonder if anyone has come across it b4.. my 33gtr has done 1300 miles since i rebuilt it. 600bhp spec. last sat b4 i went on track had it on a dynopack for last minute checking. next day after being on track the idle is at 1500 rpm then after about 30 seconds gradually returns to 1000. phoned the tuner and he said i could have an air leak developed after going on the curcuit, which is silverstone/uk. so i sprayed all the inlet manifold/throttle bodies etc while running with wd40 to see if infact i did have an air leak. nothing not a flutter. so after reading on here about aac valve i took mine off and cleaned it up. but did not plug the lead on. he presto 950 rpm. rev it up and it drops back to idle instantly, now my problem. when i plug the lead on it revs back up again as b4. car runs d-jetro ecu. could it be in the map somewhere? hope you guys can help as here in the uk homebuilds are rare. spec is 25/30 hks elbows.720, jun 264/272 cams.tomei pump etc. car made 519 at the hubs.. bernie /uk

sorry mate. r33gtr v-spec in wine red.
