hi mate. the oil pump is nismo n1, the crank has a collar fitted. and all the clearances where checked with plastigauge.. i.e endfloat was checked with feeler gauges, and mains/big ends/oil pump-collar gaps were checked, also its all balanced ..bernie -
Crank Strength And Upgrading Options.
rockabilly replied to LedZepLen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well mines running 700bhp/660lbs @ 5800rpm and 8000rpm redline no problem done 1000 miles in it now and ran it on track at 2 bar all day, with a 26 head and gt35r 1.06 rear.. -
my rb26/30 with a gt35r 1.06 rear jun stage one cams, 1000cc injectors, twin fuel pumps, etc made 700bhp @ the fly and 660lbs torque@ the fly that was at 1.8 bar though, so yes its possible thats on 98ron pump fuel /uk we did a run upto 2.2 bar and got almost 750bhp/700lbs torque but turbo was overspinning. went to castle donnington race curcuit on friday , open pit lane and did 80 miles on track at 2 bar all day no prbs..bernie

hi guys, well my rb26/30 has done over a 1000 miles now no issues, went to castle donnington for a trackday, set car up for 2 bar boost gt35r 1.06 rear, as supplied by extreme turbo manifolds.. no probs all day did about 100 miles on track open pit lane etc, then a boost pipe let go, slipped through the clip, the one that goes onto the intercooler on the left side. anyway fitted it back on and no boost?.checked all the pipes and the turbo to make sure we have not lost a wheel and cant find the problem..car runs a tial 44mm external wastegate plumbed back into the downpipe, i think leigh said it had a 7psi spring fitted, its been ok but now the car only makes .3 bar at 7000 rpm..runs superb and as been to 7500rpm several times today lol/. any idea,s guys as to wether wastgates can stick open??. bernie

hi mate. i have 2 x tomei in tanks in mine, fitted by me.. just strapped one pump to the other and made sure the pick ups were strapped together too.. you need to install the second one in the tank first then fit the first one on the cradle, then strap the second one in.i then rewired mine to run two seperate feeds and relays. been fine done 650 miles now no probs. car runs a gt35r 697bhp/660lbs@5500rpm,bernie uk.

6 Speed Getrag Into A Gtt
rockabilly replied to Marco-R34GTT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
just to help guys. the 32/33 5th gear is .83. whereas the 34gtr 6th is .79 but the 32/33 rear diff is 4.11.1 the 34gtr rear diff is 3.45.1 hence the lower revs on the 34. i am led to believe the reason nissan used the getrag box was to decrease the gaps between gears, hence quicker acceration as you are in the boost range more.. bernie -
if it helps i have jun 264/in and 272/ex 9.7mm lift. these are the biggest cams for lift in a std rb26 head. bernie
-
hi mate. for the extra money its gonna cost you to get some custom pistons and the fact that each bore will be different due to wear i would go for a set from spool and rebore to suit..each piston will need to be measured and each bore needs to be bored to match each piston clearance..bernie

update guys. misfire was the injector resistor pack on the inner wing, took some finding but we are there now. its picks up well when you set off...lol lol

As for the power versus boost, the cam lift is a bit low for the power target, which I assume is ~750 bhp as that is the size of the turbo you have chosen. I have not seen any mention of head porting, I may have simply missed that post. But for that sort of power target it is pretty much a necessity. I didn’t see any mention of exhaust manifold or intercooler either. All of these items are restrictions, which simply increase the boost required to make less power. Remove the restrictions and the boost will go down and the power will go up. cheers guys. gary.. some more details. today we removed the map sensors and fitted more new ones no different. also another set of plugs, no different. be told by one of the uk tuners who has ahd a look at the graphs power is 691bhp @ the fly on the graph for 2.1 bar. not sure of ign timing will ask. also head has been ported polished and matched to the throttle bodies headers etc. manifold is fromm extreme turbo manifolds, 44 mm tial wastegate, all ceramic coated. . cp forges spool rods, acl bearings, n1 oil/water pumps. bottom end full balanced. intercooler is hks drag 4" thick. on the clip you can see the red light in car. thats my shift light set at 7k thats it for now guys but please ask anything i will help if possible. bernie

cheers cubes cams are jun. 264/in 272/ex 9.7mm lift tomei 1mm oversized buckets

what fuel were you using while running 2 bar? fuel was shell v-power 98r0n det showed 25 on the datalogit.
-
cheers guys. firstly fuel car is running shell v - power 98ron pump fuel. second. it has 2 in tank tomei fuel pumps wired seperately to two relays.both relays are working and both pumps are working we checked that plus fuel pressure is 3.5 bar too. graphs i will put up when matt @ the racing line finally gets the car to run.. 2.17 bar is not what i will run the car is mapped for 1.5bar 590bhp/540lbs @ 5500rpm @ the fly also 1.8bar 620bhp/585lbs @ 5500rpm @ the fly.. the graphs look like the evo graphs, torque and bhp follow each other to the top, car makes boost from 2800rpm climbs quick and steep from 3500rpm.redline at 7000 you are all right for that boost i would have expected 700bhp @ the fly and maybe 600lbs torque.cant understand why bhp is the same as torque. when i get the graphs i will see more but at 1.8 bar it made 500bhp @ the treads which he says is 620 @ the fly.. bernie. any comments from you guys or tuners would help. the electrical problem has got all the tuners baffled here. if this helps the tuner, if you set the fuel map up say from 1000-5000 rpm and the afr goes from 15 at 1000rpm to 11 at 5000rpm, then let the revs drop back to idle. and do it again this time without altering anything at 1000rpm fuel is 20 and as you rev it up it goes up and down reaching 30 in some cases.>>>???? bernie

Rb30 Hybrid Upgrade, All Dyno Results
rockabilly replied to R31Nismoid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
AH RIGHT SECTION NOW, SORRY GUYS. well guys mine went on the dyno as promised. here,s a you tube link, takes a while to load, done by the racing line where i had it mapped.. car ran brilliantly all morning till 1pm. did 20+ dyno runs , final run was @ 2.17 bar 652bhp@the fly 660lbs torque @ 5500rpm went for dinner and unfortunately left the ign on. when we returned for some light on road mapping car is now knacked beyond a joke,, change the ecu,cam sensor, ign amp, splitfires, plugs no joy.. wont rev and on the fuel map it stays the same but when you rev it up, and return to same piont on the map that had an afr of 13 now it reads 21? numbers are the same but afr has changed on its own?. lambda,s are turned off so not them. we puit some 4 bar map sensors on wonder if they have burned out?. will start again monday..bernie my clip http://s212.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/r...nt=rb30dyno.flv -

Gtr Rb26 Jun Camshafts
rockabilly replied to HIJAKD's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
guys, i have jun cams in my 26/30 264 in9.7mm lift and 272 ex 9.7mm lift. they are probably the rarest cams to find and as said above do what it says on the packet.. tricky to shim as jun reduce the base circle by 1mm but when right they are awesome, ticks over at 900 rpm like a 200bhp car..bernie.uk -

small base circle Jun cams as above, my jun cams needed either shims or buckets, i got the buckets, same either way. -
Question With My Ssq Bov With My R33gtr
rockabilly replied to andy95'R33GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hi mate, i have twin blitz blow off,s when i bought them secondhand and checked them they were seized. because of there location they suffer from water damage. take them of free them up and lightly oil them with wd40 or similar.also on top there is an adjustment screw. this is so you can adjust them to the boost your car runs, as every car runs different boost they have to be made to be adjustable. really need to be on boost when adjusting them like on the rollers etc.. bernie uk -
R34 Gtr Overheating On Race Track
rockabilly replied to geoffw's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I expect I could fit an Oil Cooler to reduce the Oil temps, however I don't want to mask another issue. hi mate. i run a 33gtr on track alot.. i have a 25 row oil cooler 50 mm koyo radiator 2 x10 cooler under boot floor, one for gearbox, one for transfer box 1 x 10 row fuel cooler. on a hot day here in the uk 30deg @ silverstone. water is 90 and oil is 90. i also have a vented bonnet. if you want to track agtr you will need all this cooling capacity. gtr,s are not like gts-t they create masses of heat from the turbo,s gearbox etc. you have to remove that heat somehow..bernie uk below are the gearbox/transfer box cooler, they are operated by 100 deg surface mounted switches and are on alot on track. also the fuel cooler picture.
