should be fine mate. the reason the car stalled was the afm,s when you blow a pipe of you loose pressure to the engine and the afm,s so it should stall unless you run map sensors, as for the turbo, true standing still after a hot burst is not good but it only does harm when you dont start the car up again for hours, hen the oil has time to harden , you started within minutes, i would not worry mate.be fine..

is all that stuff really purple or are my eyes playing tricks on me? sorry to say yes.. my wife bought me the heater hose set some 4 years ago in purple and ..........well ..its just continued..dont see many though..lol Just something i noticed: You air pod/filter has a reducer cone, then you have a silicon hose attached to increase the size to match the intake pipe. Wouldn't you be better off to remove the pod reducer cone and fabricate another cone to match the pod diameter and the intake pipe. Just thinking you may be causing some minor restrictions with the current set-up. looked into the flow rates mate and that small hole in the filter itself is 3.5 inch and with the size of the filter itself should be good for 800bhp..wont make that power, but if it does i may need to look at it in the future. as for power steering , yes you will need to move yours..sorry.bernie

try that now sorry.

hi mate. i moved mine to just under the head. on the smooth part above the water pump. also used two tensioners, sounds sweet no whining noise like you get from the greddy belts sometimes..easy enough to do..

no probs mate. its just drained back after being stood so long.. the oil pump needs vacumn to work, hence pouring oil down the filter hole..bernie uk
-
hi mate. take the oil filter off. then pour new oil down the outer ring of the oil pump housing and slowly turn the crank anti clockwise. is the motor a fresh rebuild?. if yes did you a prime the pump with oil first when it was upside down with the sump off?. it will never pick up if you have not primed the oil pump,, first rule of engine rebuilding..

Well Its In Finally...........
rockabilly replied to rockabilly's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well its done 60 miles now on the crap 20/50 multigrade oil, been to 1.1 bar @ 5500 rpm on that oil. just dropped the oil and put some mineral 15/50,s in will run that for a hundred and fifty miles and that will be the run in done..probably gonna be jan 4 when it gets mapped as the tuners nearby are all fully booked and i cant have time off in dec. -
25/30,s low lag 620bhp @ 1.5 bar @ 4000rpm 25/40 older design high lag. [email protected] bar@ 5000rpm all rough figures. bernie. for a road car 25/30,s now replaced with 2860-5 25/40 now replaced with either gt-rs,s or 2869-7

agree what r31 nisnoid/n1gtr, mine ran 450 rwkw,s for a year did a few trackdays no probs, you have to select gear particually third properly before you load it up with power, then its fine, bernie uk

hi guys, i would like to add my experiences. i have a 33gtr. the old motor which i rebuilt and sold had cp forgies, std rods, hks 25/30,s etc and ran 620bhp@the fly 445lbs torque, this week i finished my home rebuild of my rb26/30, ( see thread for rebuild pics ). i have jun stage 1 cams 262/in/272/ex 9.7mm lift, twin tomei intank pumps, 720,s tomei 1.0 mm headgasket and 35r/1.06 rear from extreme turbo,s. now first impressions are fantastic, when you run a 600 bhp gtr they are not a comfortable car to drive, twins at that spec can be a nuisance, shuffle etc even on a good map. driving with the 30 bottom end i would no go back now, smooth like i could not believe, engine has done 15 miles so far, been to 4500 rpms and already shown 1bar boost, it spools from 2200 rpm any gear on the avcr,.best comparison is a std 33gts non turbo, they are smooth no drama etc, this gtr is now superbly smooth and sounds awesome with a trust pe2 system. as for dramas fitting, buy the proengine sump adapter, fits superb just need silcone or similar to fit, yes its sits taller and i have a vented bonnet and it goes in no problem, clutch is exedy triple works superb nice and light with very little rattle when depressed. as for price in the uk things are expensive, but i built this myself and got parts from japan and oz, cost wise its is 5500 uk pounds finished. i will be reving this engine to 8000 rpm when run it, the crank and pulleys/clutch was been balanced and i am using an rb25 front pulley.. hope this helps.bernie

fired the old girl up today, no water in her just a quick 5 mins, went first time on the button, no oil leaks just a little raspy for me,could be the forgies being new and all, will see what it like when the water goes in and she runs longer,, oil pressure 100 psi on 20/50 asda special -
hi mate. as long as the 2 rubber tubes coming of them go to the nipples screwed in the throttle housing no probs. you can mount them where you want, just most people use the shortest length of tube possible..bernie uk
