Thanks for all the replies Since I imported it.. EDIT..... by reset idle do you mean disconnect battery? or something else as I have removed battery while paint engine bay... idle was same before and after
-
Hadouken, should I while engine is hot or cold?
-
Ecu? Stock for rb25det neo melbourne colds.. like anywhere 5 to 10 degree C
-
When first on it runs at 1400-1500rpm then after a min or two.. down to 1200-1300rpm 5min later When properly warm. 800rpm idle its smooth and gives no problems. just driving it with high rpm is annoying. its a manual r34 gtt I read the idle adjustment thread and seem interested in chaning it but dont really wanna do that unless I know fully if I should do that. plus changing cold start might have a different style?

Doing Road Worthy, Hicas Rear Tie Rod Ends Bush
ifixedit replied to ifixedit's topic in General Maintenance
Thanks for the reply duncan, the mechanic said that the HICAS Tie rod ends need replacing, they look worn out.. I called him back and asked him is it the metal arm or just the rubber insert thinggy he said the rubber P.S. the ebay link, he seems to do that do alot of products, maybe a way to advertise?!?! I thin the first image represents what is to be sold -

dealership? no... OH!!! I heard of dodgy shit like this going on.. But in all seriousness I did buy this car with 72K KM on the clock and it would hurt resale value & insurance value if I dont do something about this.. and I think I better act quick before it gets recorded into aussie records as 155K KM.. to confirm my friend didnt truly do the dodgies to me.. is there a way I can check easily ?? maybe the timing belt? what do you guys recommend? I am ok at engine work.. I know how to remove bits and pieces and put them back... so what if I have a screw left over!! haha nah seriously I installed a few rb's into cars in thailand a few years back but general maintenance stuff like this I might have some troubles about know how to detect.. Would it be worthwhile trying to find the timing belt.. it might have a sticker?!?! please give me some advise here.. I just want to confirm it has the origonal timing belt still on it.. which it should for 72,000 KM I will take photos for you guys if necessary

hi imported my skyline r34 and seen photos with the 72,821km on the odo now reading 152k km, because friend swapped cluster in jpn. it was always saying empty fuel, so he simply replaced it for me. we both didnt think about the km on the gauge cluster! can i have it reprogrammed in melbourne back to 72k i would want to do this some time next few days. before road worhy, and rego.. etc...

Thanks for the replies.. Unfortunately. Including shipping and other costs.. I am way over $7000.. so it hurts to think to toss it! I did look at about 6-7 Skylines in melbourne.. and they were all rotten cars and were marked at $15-$21K for crap. Ok this has rust, with anyluck it can be repaired properly... and I have a Mint Skyline.. The engine is very Young at only 79K and interior in like new.. Drives very well and panels are nice. No mis alignments. No previous crashes. this car is exactly what I wanted, less the rust.. Stored for too long... No use.. No Heat Rust Happened I suppose.. Does anyone know if this rust issue would be requiring repairs at the Compliance Stage or Roadworthy stage?

Thanks for your reply.. Actually a friend did.. dunno if he will be a friend for much longer haha.. I am trying to keep my head up about this little rust issue so I do understand that the main rail having the rust can be a cause for concern, but if there are processes to prevent further deteration, than I will be ok about it.. I will monitor that. but I think rust eats metal so it's gotta be done properly! I am still happy with my purchase as I requested a car that was as clean as possible.. they are getting pretty old these days and japan being pretty cold and wet with seawater all around salt+metal is bad news.. I traveled to japan recently and seen a few before I returned home, they were actually much worse this this.. Sadly I didn't see this in person over there as my trip ended 2 weeks before this was found. so long as the rust can cut out the bad parts and do whats required to stop the spread of it.. ... I would like some ideas of how rust can be eliminated in say... my unique issue! please dont say to me to throw away this car.. that hurts.. it's still a skyline...!! I just need to be prepared on what's expected to happen next and have knowledge about the issue to continue..

hi i finally got to see my import today a r34 gtt. sadly I was pointed to some rust.. hmmm just how big a deal is rust? is this going ruin my importing experience? the location is front quarter panel on the engine bay side. not so much the shock absorber mount but the wall between firewall and the shock mount bump. so Id call this thick rust here.. .... then at the bottom underneith car around jackpoints there is some.. medium level ... the area where jackpoints are, the main chassis strongpoint has lite rust spots.. imo not to be concerned... photos will come later.. but yea, if anyone can provide me an idea of what aussie shops would expect to charge. I hope my descriptions are clear enough.. let me know if you need any other info.. thanks....

Gtr R32 Rims, Will It Fit A 245/50r16 Tyre?
ifixedit replied to ifixedit's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I imported it and came with these wheels -
I am going to need new shoes for my R34 GTT, It comes with Stock R32 GTR RIMS, Does the 245 in 245/50R16 mean the width of a tyre in mm? Can I use a tire as large as 245 width? or will it look bad / wont fit? I want a solid parallel fit no angle due to too large/ too small tire. Whats a common tire size people buy? 225? 235? Thanks
