Yeah, I've gotten nowhere. America has been being c**ks about engines. -
Engine Serial Number Matching Vin
Velict replied to Velict's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
So, only the export certificate and not the japanese title, right? -
I currently own an R32 GTR (just purchased) in Japan. I was wondering how I go about matching the serial number stamp on the engine block, to the VIN number. The VIN number doesn't give any information about the engine serial number, only it's model / part number. Yes I know where to find the engine block serial number. I have it. Yes I have the VIN number. How do I match them up?
-
Anyone?

Look at your car from the hood. Go to the left of it, (right side of the front facing engine) It's behind the alternator, in front of the oil filter

How do I go about matching the engine stamped serial number on the block with the vin / chassis number?

I'll be sending an R32 gtr to the states, but I need to know how to verify the engine stamped serial number on the block to the VIN / chassis number (ensuring it's the original engine) Thanks in advance.

I've looked around on the forums about LED interior lighting conversion. I got the jist of it all, and bought the LEDs I need. Then, I became addicted, and now I want to replace the lights in the hazard buttons, electric window switch buttons, and all those random little places. Does anyone know the package size needed for these replacements? (IE: T3, T5). What I found online so far is this: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/32293-hazard-light-switch-lamp.html But that post is dead as hell, and from years ago. Help would be appreciated! Thanks y'all.

Purchasing R32 Gtr ...but Some Issues
Velict replied to Velict's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'm going through with it. I'm not going to ***** out on this. I'm American, hence my attitude on the difficulty (IE: Price) Of GTRs in the states. I live in Japan at the moment, so I'm able to get one priced fairly. I'm quite excited. -
the nissan harness adapter comes with a 12v splitter. So no need to extra splicing. The sub has a control wire splitter, too. The instructions on the amp say not to extend the 12v wire, but I did it anyway, with a larger gauge wire. The sub is going to be in trunk, and I didn't have enough length.

Purchasing R32 Gtr ...but Some Issues
Velict replied to Velict's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'm on the fence at the moment about the purchase. -
Hello all! Just recently purchased these items at Autobacs. They were all on sale. Tell me what y'all think! I'll be installing this week. The Kenwood speakers were on sale for 4000 yen a pair. The SWE-3000 was on sale for 29,000 yen. It has a built in amp. I don't need extreme power, just a nice bump. The KTP-445UJ is for the kens, and should work quite nicely. I bought an Alpine head unit (CDE-HD149BT) from Amazon. Should be here in a few weeks. Here is a pic, and diagram of installation if anyone wants to follow the same procedure. I've decided to splice the KTP into the head unit 12v instead of directly to the battery. The main Sub amp is going to get connected directly to the battery. Also, in this diagram, the color coding is NOT specific to what ANY harness is. It's just colored so that it's easier on the eyes.

So I had an amazing opportunity to purchase a GTR! Until I remembered I haven't driven a manual in 5 years. So, I'm not going to purchase it, as I'll look stereotypical. IE: Buying a vehicle I can't drive, like an old person buying a lambo. Let this be a lesson to y'all! If you don't want your dreams crushed, make sure you're always preparing for whatever could happen in your life.

R34Gtt Front Brake Caliper Seals
Velict replied to rondofj's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I recently bought all four seal kits. I had this same issue for my rear calipers... and I was told that you have to buy the full caliper. They're not expensive. I went ahead and had the seal kits installed on the brand new calipers.
