  1. I did a lot of research arecently on pumps and agree with what you were told as everyone said the same to me - read this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=31143
  2. I found a really good way to stop the factory ecu retarding timing and running really rich when upping your boost - I took it out and threw it in the bin!
  3. the mesh will form a bit of a restriction, but that's its job as i understand. It is there to ensure that the airflow is evenly spread over the area of the AFM. The hot wire element doesn't sense the airflow over the whole area of the AFM pipe so it reads it at the centre and i guess assumes this flow is even over the pipes area. removing it may cause less of a restriction and give you maybe 1 - 2rwkw, but in the long run, i think you A/F ratio's will be less stable due to fluctuations in the AFM's ability to measure air coming into the engine. make sense?
  4. gtstii

    indercators

i have them for an r33 - are they the same?
  5. read this: http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic11657.htm
  6. less turbulence in the air as it passes over the hot wire allows it to read the airflow more accurately
  7. it's also there to strighten out the airflow as it passes over the hot wire sensor - not a worthwhile mod in my opinion
  8. is this the ame as the gtr fuel pump? Can it b used in an r33 gtst? I was looking at getting a brand new gtr pump to support 200rwkw but have found a brand new 300zx pump for less $$ and I think I've heard in the past that these are the same - Is this true???
  9. stock turbos CAN be rebuilt - a good person in Melb. to speak to is kyp at ATP.
  10. same reason i like the gtr pumps, straight fit and are quieter than the bosch's. You can get them second hand or there's a place in Vic which sells them brand new for $440 each. I'm getting one and I think if we were to get them together we might be able to get them cheaper. pm me if interested!
  11. oh yeah - and as a guide, a set in very good condition should go for around $300 - 400
  12. I should have 1 from a series 2 r33 gtst in about a week if still interested
  13. yeah I know, huh.... by the way, thanks for your response to my pm and your info on your 040 pump!
  14. nup, all 16's - same size as r33 rims. the gt spec had a polished version though
  15. so you reckon i go for a new pump or the second hand one?
  16. I've finally decided to get a gtr fuel pump after all of that! Reasons are that the Walbro's sound like they might not be too reliable and the bosch's are too loud for my liking. I have 2 options, a second hand r34 gtr pump for $300 or a BRAND NEW r32 gtr pump for $400 (from nissan these are normally $900) I was thinking of getting the new gtr pump and fitting it myself, it's good cos it's meant to be a stright fit into my bracket!
  17. Oh man, why are you even thinking about it - the GTR without even a second thought!!!!
  18. me too - I gained 25rwkw with an safc and car felt HEAPS better
  19. get a second hand SAFC (blue screen) for around $350 I would guess and install and tune around $120. .............But as everyone said, first have a dyno tune to see if you really need it
  20. As stated, need an r34 (pref.) or r33 GTR fuel pump! Thanks heaps!!
  21. oh ohhhhhhhhhhhhh......................, anything but that question!!!!
  22. check out this thread - sort of recent and has a few members who have one for sale http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...?t=26613&page=1
  23. dont forget - with 13psi of boost and no safc or mgt - you are prob as rich as and losing heaps of (potential) power!
  24. just to let you know - they are worth around $150, I bought mine in perfect condition for $120
