  1. no probs - remember the apexi SAFCII manual needs the japanese language pack to be installed on adobe for it to work! (it's in english though) So anyone know what would be a worrying level for knock?
  2. ok, before you all tell me to go out and do a search cos this has been covered before etc etc.... I found the info i wanted and was looking now at something like a bosch 910 Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *GTST pump is 135 litres per hour and supports 300 bhp at standard pressure *GTR pump is 190 litres per hour and supports 420 bhp at standard pressure *Bosch 910 pump is 200 litres per hour and supports 450 bhp at 73.5 PSI # 0 580 254 910 *Bosch 975 pump is 228 litres per hour and supports 500 bhp at 73.5 PSI # 0 580 254 975 *Bosch 984 pump is 228 litres per hour and supports 500 bhp at 73.5 PSI # 0 580 254 984 *Bosch 044 pump is 330 litres per hour and supports 730 bhp at 73.5 PSI # 0 580 254 044 *Bosch 040 pump is 235 litres per hour and supports 520 bhp at 73.5 PSI # 0 580 254 040 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- how much can i expect to pay for this and are they very noisy??
  3. Hey all, Has anyone here looked into using the SAFCII's knock sensor seriously? I've looked at the SAFCII manual which is downloadable from www.apexi.com (US site) and have set it up correctly. I usually have a reading of 0 which can go up to around 15 - 20 on a 35 degree day. It seems to work ok, and gives higher values when i would expect them (ie. cheap fuel, hot day) but what I wanted to know is WHAT CONSTITUTES KNOCKING? When should I be alarmed? Is it like the power FC output where I think 60 is when knocking is occuring?? any help appreciated
  4. Hey guys, just needed to know how far the fuel pump can go SAFELY! Is it ok using the stock fuel pump with 12psi and around 190 - 200rwkw's????? thanks fella's
  5. I know this is an old thread, but do you need to do the pump if only looking at 190 - 200rwkw's???
  6. For performance and cheap(er) insurance: XR6 turbo or 5.7L SS Commodore
  7. yeah but i didnt want to get a second hand stock turbo cos knowing my luck it'll just go again - do i have any other options which are cheaper than $1500?
  8. I would say its the exhaust wheel cos car still starts fine and runs ok except for no power, no boost and a massive whining sound when the turbo starts to spin. I had to drive it home a few k's from where it happened and although it had no power, everything else seemed fine!
  9. alright, thanks again - I'll let you know how I go when I've spoken to ATP! Also, what if it was the wheel on my intake side which has gone - does this mean it may be in the intercooler? Which wheel is more likely to go?
  10. Also, If I take my car to a workshop to get the turbo taken off - what will they do with it while the turbo is being fixed - will they just store it in their workshop???
  11. I wasn't too worried about taking it off but not so sure about putting it back on - you know, gaskets, tightening torque of bolts on turbo etc.... also not sure if i can find the time! If my exhaust wheel has shit itself, does this mean it's stuck in my exhaust at my cat - do I have to take apart the exhaust to take this out?
  12. thanks man!! If I end up going with ATP and don't want to take it off myself, how else can I get the turbo to them???
  13. what if we get together and try to get a cheaper price for 2?
  14. I'm happy to do it and "learn about my car" as long as I don't screw it up in the process!!
  15. that price is consistent with what I'm being told - and I've called a lot of places! is it easy for me to take my turbo off myself and save a bit of $$$$???
  16. thanks for all of the advice guys - has anyone actually had this done and had good results???? also, how hard/easy is it to take the turbo off myself so i can drop it off to them????
  17. hey all, I need to fix my turbo which has recently blown - and was looking at reconditioning my std turbo with steel wheels and a high flow. Can anyone recommend a place to do this in Vic? Has anyone done this and had good results? How much can I expect to pay (looking at keeping costs to a minimum)?? I really need urgent help with this one. thanks heaps guys.
  18. Well, I have just heard my turbo go pop the other day and needed to know what my options are for getting it fixed. My car is an r33 gtst and I was looking at one of the following: 1. hi flow / rebuild my turbo (machine housing, steel wheels etc) - $800 2. reconditioned VG30 turbo - $1400 3. aftermarket turbo - $2000 + I was looking at going for a hi-flow / rebuild of my turbo to fix it as this is a fairly reasonable price. Is this a good option? Is there anything I should look out for? Is there anything i need to know before I do this? Do I hav to tell them any spec's I want? In the end I was hoping to have something that will give me around 200 - 220 rwkw's with an SAFC, exhaust and r34 gtt intercooler.
  19. ouch - pricey! i guess what i wanted to know is if the metal that stock wheels are made out of can be polished?
  20. Hey guys, is it possible to polish wheels like the stock S15 rims? (the unpolished version, obviously) Is it possible to polish this metal and if so, who in Melbourne can do it? thanks
