  1. Perhaps 24psi would be that mechanics safe level, not knowing the build parts n quality and/or not having E85 experience
  2. yep would have been me after dropping the GF off. Got a toot from some one in Queanboganville yesterday. Didn't really see who but it looked to be a dark grey ford ?? Stuck my arm out the window for a backward wave.
  3. Any codes/errors on your ECU ? a few too many could be's old coilpack loom, earthing issue, dare I say it - Ignitor, fuel pump, filter, pressure reg ...... perhaps get it back to your mechanic to look over
  4. Actually your right Rob I physically pickup the rwc on Monday when I pick the swifty up. Got the phone call late yesterday. - Windscreen replaced, Wiper blades, cat cut off and another welded in. everything else in good working order. By the looks of it and the paperwork it's been re-registered firstly in NSW (nov2011) from the ACT, and recently (Mar2013) from NSW back to ACT. Not driven since July 2013. So that's why I think there is not much to do having passed twice in 2 years. It has newish tyres on it. - BTW one tyre on the GTR cost more than all 4 on the swift I'd say when the cat collapsed on itself it blocked the exhaust and the guy I got it from has gone it's all too hard/expensive and cancelled rego. Windscreen was cracked here in the complex while it was parked. Figure it was best to take it in and get it assessed ASAP. So I could decide to repair & register /or not. I can be more critical than rego inspectors when it's one of my cars. Comes in @ about $1000 registered for 3months. When I get it back I'll do the detailing and full service. Most of the cost is in the Windscreen and replacing the Cat. Perhaps should have asked Mik to cut the cat out and weld one in - oh well I'm sure he is busy and got better things to do. Plus believe it or not I can be IMPATIENT

  10. Well I have a Suziki Swift GA (1992) with a listed power level of 39kws at the fly. (1litre and 3 Cylinders) This is seriously a NO frills car. No PS, A/C, Radio (with only 1litre it cant really power headlights - LOL) Asked my neighbour yesterday if it ran and what he was doing with it as it hadn't moved since July last year. He responded it wasn't running and he was quoted $1000 to fix. So he de-registered it as these aren't worth much more running. Asked him how much he wanted and he said take it !, as even the wreckers said they would charge him to tow it away. So I pushed it up to mine and checked it out Found the Cat had collapsed (hence why he said it had no "power" before it stopped, Air filter was full of chaff ! , dead battery, Windscreen crack right across the screen and the kicker .............................. No fuel The paint work is all oxidised badly (not hard to clean up). So went to try start it with the jump pack. Main fuse blew while trying to turn it over and I realised the fuel gauge didn't move off Empty. Today on the way home I got some fuel and a new 60amp relay fuse. Now she runs (the lawn mower sounds better and has more grunt too) Shame it wasn't a GTi (1.3ltr). They came out with forged internals and are easily turbo'd. None the less a small project to tinker with
