Master Cylinder Upgrade For R32 Gtst, Bm57?
Sinista32 replied to Rolls's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Trying not to Hijack Rolls but your subject is topical for me at the moment. I went back to the reco'd and re sleaved original BMC 2 weeks ago. Gave the new BM57 to my mechanic as no one on SAU wanted to buy for $300 (paid over $500), - you can get copies for less than $200. I will try a larger booster and some pedal adjustment to try fix my similar issue. I like to feel the brakes come on in the first 25% of pedal travel not the last 25% -
Looked blue in the first post so did not gel it was yours Bob. Damn ! Did not know it was up for Grabs either.

4Wd Light Has Come On!
Sinista32 replied to james32gtr's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hicas would put Hicas light on (if globe in cluster) and would be associated to 4WS and steering wheel as above, lock bar?. but suppose could be an issue too...I'm not sure how 4ws and 4wd are connected. First post mentioned 4WD light is on. This definitely involves ABS, Brake system, Attessa ECU, Resevoir, Speed sensors, Pump, Solenoids and the G sensor. (and Attessas electrics) -

Speak to the guy. See how you go I now have the workshop Manual open on my desktop Still trying to remember where I downloaded it from. Section C3 is what you need. Not sure if your a DIY sort of person If not then you could get your local JDM garage on to the job Still I don't know if this is your issue but to me it sounds like it. -

Sorry - You did check the Power Steering fluid (whilst running). ? Just getting confused with Hicas (4WS) and Attessa (4WD) system. Attessa resevoir in the boot - doh! -

Ignition off - it wont hurt Likely wont help either but at least you know they're firmly connected You already checked the Attessa fluid in the boot with engine running ? Disconnected/reconnected the Attessa ECU in the boot. Still only the 9 error code ? no others ? Checked the fuses for the Attessa ? No rattle in the Attessa ecu (someone recently found a loose screw in theirs) As I said I'll have a look at the manual later or send a link through for you. Edit: If it was red it would stay red. It doesn't go on/off. -

yes - I hear you buddy. If he's a member on here I am certain he wont leave you in the lurch !!! be aware also there is no preload in the 32 GTR as there is in the 33/34 GTR's. So it's slow to kick in and then it's all at once. The OEM G Sensor also has a very slow sample rate which also delays reaction in comparison I'll check the workshop manual over the next few days and/or send you a link to download (your going to need it I think) -

One thing that could be affecting this is the "G Sensor" (this also takes a reading from ABS unit - no longer in car?) (found under the centre console, 2 plugs disconnect/reconnect and if it's had a good thump then there will be a red indicator in the window. Related to 4wd issue asking about earlier ? Check all your grounding strap points too (just a precaution) Still think you need to ask the guy you bought it from about these issues. He's bound to have knowledge as it just didn't start to play up the day you bought it. Edit: Probably need to go from A to Z troubleshooting Attessa system. sorry to jump in on todays few posts -

In my case peddle travel was greater, softer before engaging (also have a cusco brake stopper) thanks re larger booster may assist .... -
4Wd Light Has Come On!
Sinista32 replied to james32gtr's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The unit is reporting correctly (9. abs actuator relay or circuit) Yours has been removed so that s norm Call the owner or visit him and ask what he has done. Doesn't sound like it has been bypassed in any way as its working as it should (Error Msg) Maybe it is possible to bypass so the error is not reported. Your solution may be to remove the globe from the cluster if it annoys you. -
Drive between Cairns and Port Douglas is really good. Problem is the drive between Canberra and Cairns

Spotted 2 great looking 33's today. Beautiful purple one in Kambah and a beautiful darker blue one near the Hyperdome both very well kept machines

Master Cylinder Upgrade For R32 Gtst, Bm57?
Sinista32 replied to Rolls's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
was not noticeable between BMC's with all the work done it has barely improved along the way. It has improved but is streets behind what it was prior to upgrading Edit: Yes I understand the theory of going BM57 (17/16ths or 1.1"). Srsly tho no change. -
Master Cylinder Upgrade For R32 Gtst, Bm57?
Sinista32 replied to Rolls's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Rolls - Save your money it wont make a difference. I know this as I have the same issue. Although I have an R32 GTR After my upgrade to R33 GTR callipers (I had full refurbished by PBR) New Braided lines New PMU HC+ Pads New DBA 4000 New BM57 (ABS) At least 6 full bleeds (including pressure bled) Motul BF600 ABS bled and tested 2 brake shops and 2 JDM garages I have even had the original BMC refurbed, re sleeved and refitted - to no difference. Now I wish I had never changed them. They work but you have to push most of the way down and they feel soft BUT they work. Left to Try In my GTR you can adjust the brake peddle like the clutch. You may be able to do this on a GTS-t (dunno) Brake Booster and one way valve but I have been Guaranteed by all shops they are fine. So hopefully this may help you diagnose I have even considered removing ABS. I like to feel my brakes (it is unnerving ATM) -
Your right Rob but in my defence I have been to a fair few too Tassie would be like a good Holiday
-
I'd go in the first quarter of next year. Never been to Tassie. Would love to take the GTR on the boat over. Will do it anyway (most on here have a tendency to get excited and then pull out) Lulz

yeah - a very good idea indeed

4Wd Light Has Come On!
Sinista32 replied to james32gtr's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Firstly use the search function. There is heaps of info on here and you will get more help from others if you üse search first. It could be many things from the fluid level, blown fuses, loose screw in the Attessa ECU even, dirty sensors in the wheel hubs, G sensor. Is the ABS light on as well ? Check the 4wd fuses in the fuse panel in the cabin and the fuse in the engine bay. Check the fluid in the reservoir in the boot on the drivers side behind the trim panel (with ignition on) - then get back -

I was going to put that in my post above also. Sometimes I ring around because waiting 3-4 weeks doesn't cut it for me either.
