  2. Some shops make a reasonable profit by adding a small margin. Other shops make an obscene profit. Always best to ring around. Shops that gouge are normally the ones who wont/don't like you supplying new parts. They will say there is no warranty. Fortunately they are wrong. New parts carry manufactures warranty and the garage must warrant their workmanship. The difference is if they supply the parts, and the parts are faulty, they chase the supplier/manufacture up. Example: $1350 clutch the manufacturer sells to a wholesaler. (Materials, wages and profit) The wholesaler sells it for $1500 to the Garage. ($150 bucks for the supplier/middleman) The Garage sells for $2300, and then adds $1000 labour. $800 gouge on the clutch and $500 gouge on the effort. So always best to ring around. Always good to know the price of the parts. Yes: as said above. Shops will only give invoices and not their buy prices. This is as it should be otherwise the consumer would see the transperancy and make a judgement call on what is fair and reasonable profit.

  7. appx 5% leeway before attessa picks up rolling diameter differences. It's the rolling diameter and not tread depth. watching a similar thread on here ATM and peoples opinions in there Edit: Sorry. The answer to your question is NO. Real world experience, not hypertheticals.

  9. Not heard of many, if any, EPA testing in Canberra on cars. Normally noise only - unless your blowing heaps of weed of course. Cops here appear to still stick to "Too Loud/Too Low" on the imports or "Do you know what speed you were doing ya fcking idiot?" To tell the truth we get it pretty good with the local constabulary - unless your being a TWAT. They do go out of their way to give a good serve to P's and L's after dark. Just last weekend whilst I was in a siding 5_0 pulled up. Had a real good chat (wish we had beers). Were nice guys. Shame they're not all humans. Followed them about 20k's back into city limits from a known windy cruising route a lot of JDM's and bikes use down here on the weekends. (including off duty cops). Sort of hoping they'd opened up their patrol car and let me chase them down Although as soon as we go interstate, espesh capital cities, a totally different matter. Your cops appear hell bent on doing us - if they see us. Surprised they don't just set up relocatable booking stations out the front of CRD, JEM, Unigroup, and even Racepace in Vic.
  10. What year model and is it an Import or ADM ?
  11. Thanks for the good interest and offers. Now with 3 Months additional rego. EVO's double checked, fuelled, cleaned and ready to go - Papers are signed, just needs a new owner to sign and hand over enough casheesh
  12. Take it to your tuner. Most good tuners will keep your car overnight after tuning and do the cold start (adjusting IF necessary) Type of ECU can make a difference. After disconnecting the battery for any reason start it from cold and let it run for 10 to 15 so it can RE-learn. Above is just my experience. I'm not a Tuner so Jez and the boys will have better advice. .
  13. Those flats would have to be either making drugs or payback (Molotov). I quick to judge
  14. Same when I got it back eventually. Dropped a packet on suspension. Steering components were in great nick luckily.
  15. foosball - bout barkin time !!!
  16. You could try a second look and quote from Capital Steering and suspension. (as you know I don't trust anyone) Looking at the labour and parts it appears to me that your Skyline has been thrown around. a bit. It's steering and not really suspension, with a bit of stabilisation parts thrown in. You could take a look with them while they point things out to give yourself comfort that the parts are farked.
