Rob either you or the shop will receive a call in 5-10k Kms I dont have the patience mate
This time I took a number of short (long) cuts. First time doing a RB25 - 4hrs
Hence broken valley cover, many droped coilpack bolts, much cursing and bark missing.
At least oil change was very easy. Took speshal care but still dropped sump plug in hot oil.
LoL - I drove around for 5hrs doing errands and being Taxi Mum - then decided it was time to do service.
Me not known for high I.Q
Edit: Oh and I broke 2 of the little hose things for the charcoal Canister
how do you do it, how do you put up with it.
No wonder there is no valley cover or cover on most RB25's.
To change plugs you have to start by taking off
strut brace
neo cover
unplug all the wire connections at the back (4or5)
undo the bolts on the cross over pipe
undo the hose clips
pull some hoses off front and rear
rotate the large hoses out of the way
undo the allenkey bolts on the valley cover
undo the bolts on the coil pack
remove the cool packs
remove spark plugs
and then reverse the proceedure
on an RB26 if you have a valley cover you disconnect ignitor (1clip), coil packs, plugs reverse order and DONE!!
Well not quite to plan - farkin RB25's. Nothing is as easy it could be.
Give me the RB26 any day!!
To change plugs almost had to strip the bloody rear of the engine bay. Started late and ran out of daylight.
Coz I did on my drive way I have to finish it off tomoz. Just got to put all the piping, electricals and covers back on.
Got the shits and broke the valley cover in half Went to time out
in these Forums the most common advice on Gap and coils is Splitfire and 0.8.
taking note most of the skylines are modified as Duncan pointed out
Stock - I'm sure Nissan has it right on the money.
Plugs and coil pack replacement is easy so save money and do it yourself.
I would not replace a single coil pack unless it was one of a full new set.
If your having one old one fail then another take the leap and do all six new at once.
Notaris advised the springs/retainers re-used when the HKS272's went in.
No need for aftermarket with those size cams.
Would be required for BIG cams, significant headwork, big ass turbo, for flow etc
and then do bottom end and and and .................
Spose something like TiTANS beast.
Maintenacne on 34 this arv
New plugs, filters, oils, injectors cleaned, degrease, tyre pressures, finally a suds and then brazillian
Ooops and new brake light globes
right after a siesta......Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Put it on my list of things tomorrow and find out re cooler and springs/retainers when HKS cams put in.
Sorry Mitch - just been slack mate.
and I'll wash it again ....
Should come and have a look over the weekend
