Known as an "undocumented feature" in IT terms. But seriously yes either misswired or age has created a short thowing a signal to lock. Start with taking the door card off and do a visual inspection. Would be easiest to look there first. If nothing unusual follow the wiring till you find fault. But maybe it's a good "feature" as it is.

I bought a 2001 R34 GTT series 2 for $11,500 with under 100k kms in Canberra and it's in immaculate condition. Also on 18" face2 gold volk GTC's. Just sayin Ps. Your rims are awesome and the bonnet looks You may wish to sell the rims seperately and sell the car on stock rims. Maybe same with bonnet.
