I have an R35 GTR badge on my R32 GTR - looks good, better than stock.
My 32 is a custom colour and not OEM so I think it's ok.
also have a 34 GTR wing on it at the moment
All good Tuners pwd protect the ECU.
Most will give you the pwd on request but all liability is null an void at the same time.
Surely you can understand why this is. (Zebra said as much earlier in the thread)
When your tuner plugs into your Haltech ecu and if it has changed it will provide a warning msg.
You would think this would be enough for them - it is not.
A lot of people when they blow their engine up blame the build or the tune. And they can be spot on too....
Some do it purely to protect their so called "secrets". Which they may have spent a lot of time or R+D getting it spot on. or they could have nothing special and don't want anyone to know that.
Wait your warranty period on the build and then do as you please.
Woops - Duncan's got it while I was typing.
Mostly it's about keeping your business.
Planned and executed well. A good shop and obviously a good relationship.
Must eat at you peter when you thought you had also taken the right steps.
Good fortune and a good result.
There would not be many if any others with this experience.
OK so phone pics of R32 GTR New OEM and Newly recovered GTR steering wheel/s.
Also there is pics of R32 GTS-t steering wheels recovered. One off the car and one on.
Horn buttons will differentiate between. (the neck on the tri-spokes are slightly wider on the GTR steering wheels at the wheel end).
All steering wheels at the back have 2 square holes. (One for the horn wiring and one for the Hicas) Slight difference in the shape of the square space.
Slight difference in colour. The recovered ones are slightly lighter but these pics make it look worse than it really is.
$300 is what I pay. I get mine done through Shaun at Trims in Canberra.
It's not exactly the same leather as oem. I'll post pics of my oem next to a new retrimmed one this evening.
There is 3 clips in the A-pillar trims on a 32 and a metal hook at the base..
Start from the top of the door and work your way down. When you get to the base near the dash pull the A-pillar up.
I had a 34 GTT but never removed that trim. Should be the same set-up knowing Nissan.
I'll post pics in a minute when I take some.
I tried to use their Clay bar and it was useless. Fell apart while using it like biscuit crumbs.
Went back to Mothers clay bars
I no like Bowdens. Sold at Supercheap and I think it's cheap and not super
